The best restaurants in Medway Tonbridge and Malling South East

My work commits to to travel to Restaurants/ Hotels/ Major pub chains. Covering 30 + per week. I recently stayed here at Rose & Crown Tonbridge. Having read other reviews I understand some of the comments posted . However looking at age of building etc. It has its quirky elements. However the staff were polite friendly and very attentive. Alot of other Hotels could learn from this. Also the room I had was spotlessly clean. Minor issues creaking floor boards some staining on quilt itself. Yet all in all for the price of the room. I feel its excellent in value & hospitality. Highly recommended

I would love to include a photo of the grilled chicken (the owners specialty) but all you will get is a shot of an empty plate because I just lack the self control

Disgusted. Enjoyed our pizza then had a tiramisu for dessert, took one bite, tasted like garbage and spat it out. It had mould on it. Rang the restaurant and spoke to somebody who was completely indifferent. Won't be ordering again 😂

Superb European style bar with a great range of beers on keg and cask. Good food menu with hot dogs and toasties, made fresh and always tasty. There are charcuterie boards as well. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff, if you have a TN Card they do a good lunchtime deal. Always a pleasure popping in here.

Good was poor, terrible chips and everything dripping with grease

Won’t come here again. Ordered waffles three times and all of them were uncooked. Sent back two of three, just couldn’t eat it as they were still gooey on the inside. The side of ice-cream you get with the waffles is like a tester cup, and worst of all, we still got charged for the waffles I sent back. Very bad, not impressed, don’t waste your money.

Delicious meal on a quiet Sunday evening, vegetarian options too, super nice and chilled service, and on top of that the atmosphere was lovely. Would indeed recommend.

Ela Bella is my absolute favourite restaurant, it’s a hidden jewel in Tonbridge. The ambiance is charming and quaint and the owner Tarik is very inviting and passionate about culinary creations. The delicious goat’s cheese and spinach puff pastry starter complemented with rose jam was heavenly. I tried one of Ela Bella’s signature dishes ‘Steak Tonbridge’ which was a symphony of flavours and exquisitely cooked to perfection, with melt in the mouth Stilton cheese and beautifully presented with a red wine jus. An unforgettable experience for food lovers!

Had a very nice visit, the atmosphere is welcoming and the cats are friendly. I would recommend not sitting in the far corner tables at the back by the window. it was a little cold and out of the way. I purchased the birthday package which was super cute and my favourite bit was a little cat pen and a cute bracelet. I didn't eat as the menu didn't have anything healthy enough. it's all cakes, and toasties. I think a little addition/ expansion to the menu. just something simple like egg on toast or avocado bagel, something not sweet or with cheese would be good. overall a good visit and the cats are clearly happy, healthy and confident. the high fat / sugar menu would be the only thing stopping me visiting again, but this is a personal preference and if you have a sweet tooth you will enjoy the offerings.

Not been for a while, had my usual chicken chilli masala, top draw, by far and away the best Indian food in Tonbridge, will definitely be back soon

An absolute blessing to have a place like Niihaw in Tonbridge, honestly. Serving fresh, affordable food that tastes great and makes ya' feel even better. Hard to resist anytime I'm in town.

Food was lovely and hot and all arrived on time especially for a group of 15. Hayley and her team were very friendly and helpful. The food was good value for money.

Ordered pickup — on time and hot. Fried squid was incredible best I’ve had. Green curry was ok but some of the ingredients were questionable. The pad Thai was shockingly bad. I’ve eaten a lot of authentic and British Thai food, was disappointed overall
