Vauxhall Inn in Tonbridge and Malling

Visited the Vauxhall inn on the 24th of February and when I tell you the staff and food is amazing, it’s an understatement, me and my girlfriend are aware that it is now under new management and we were very surprise to see the fabulous aura in the room, greeted with compassion and it’s service with a smile, highly recommend.

Lovely evening with great friends. Our waiter was lovely and very polite and attentive the young lady working was also very sweet Food was nice and hot and very tasty I had signature burger which was delicious Shame that I overheard a rude man giving the bar person a hard time he clearly had an issue with our younger generation I felt so sorry for him having to deal with such a rude man! We thought the staff was lovely and did a great job!

I was in the hotel next door, and a solo diner. On entering greeted by barman who suggested as a table-for-one the bar would be better suited. He was excellent at providing table and provided menu - sorry I didn't get a name (weds pm). Picked a starter and a main, and had a few drinks. Food was excellent and came promptly, but not rushed, and the selection of drinks were good. Stayed until last orders and paid the tab. Really recommended, great team, great environment, great food. Thank you!

We received a friendly welcome and were given a table in the dog friendly area. The gave the dog a bowl of water. The food was lovely and the pie a good size. The sundae was lovely. Plenty of parking and easy to get to. Only regret was that they didn't have low alcohol apple cider.

Although very busy we didn’t have much of a wait before being looked after by Hayley she was very efficient and helpful..

Had an impromptu lunch with hubby, service was very good, nice friendly greeting, food very nice,pleasant atmosphere.

On arrival at The Vauxhall Inn we were greeted by the manager ,who noted that I had requested a table near a window on my booking. She promptly took us to our table where throughout the lunch, the service from our lovely waitress was impeccable She gave us time to ponder over the menu before promptly taking our order. The food arrived and looked and tasted superb. The waitress also checked on us to make sure we were happy with our meals. We also opted for desserts and again these were beautifully presented and tasted fabulous . I cannot commend the manager and waiting staff for their commitment to making sure we enjoyed our meal together and for being so attentive. I would not hesitate to recommend and return to this eaterie for another meal. Thanking you all so kindly

Very attentive service catering for our party of 9. Only two staff on but we were not left waiting. Excellent food and drink.

I have driven past for many years but somehow have never thought about eating. So tonight we did. And we were not disappointed. We were a family of 3 including a toddler and we were welcomed warmly and quickly by the staff. Our drinks order was taken promptly and food came quickly. Food was a very good quality and we would definately recommend. We will be back as it’s just a 5 minute walk from home! Thank you for a lovely Saturday night supper with the family.

Waited 20 mins for drink ordered when we seated and they were not busy. Sea bass was overcooked , roast potatoes soft could not eat my meal. Waitress was disinterested so I didn’t bother speaking to her about it she could see I had not eaten it . Ordered desert and a liqueur coffee. Desert came but waited a while then got told no tia Maria ( same problem about 2 months ago too ) we had all finished desert by time liqueur coffee came. Waitress spilt it over the glass and saucer which she never offered us a napkin to clear it up. Shocking service and food

Food was lovely and hot and all arrived on time especially for a group of 15. Hayley and her team were very friendly and helpful. The food was good value for money.

We had the lamb shank which was delicious and enjoyed the desserts and good choice of gluten free options. We were served by a sweet young lady called Scarlet who looked after us all beautifully. She was patient, polite and accommodating. Can definitely recommend for a large group like ours. We appreciated we were there 3 hours having a reunion dinner but never rushed. A nice friendly vibe all round. Thank you!

Excellent lunch today with our table of 12. Wide variety of dishes and good quality and tasty food. I had 3 courses and the gammon was really tasty. Hayley was very attentive and looked after us well. We are looking forward to returning soon.

Thoroughly recommend the Burns night dinner at Vauxhall lnn Tonbridge. I had the thistle themed options which was fantastic. A very nice evening altogether topped off by excellent service from Gemma.

Unexpectedly (country-ish pub near Tunbridge Wells), this turned out to be a really good place. Decent enough food, good value and friendly, really attentive staff. Far better than most other similar looking places in this rather ‘Up itself’ area!!! We will visit again.

Arrived on time and were promptly handed menus and specials menus, seated and our drinks order taken. After a short time our drinks were served and our food orders taken - I had ordered a medium rare rump steak and asked if I could have garden peas instead of salad and was informed that this would not be a problem, my wife ordered a gammon steak. In what seemed like no time at all our meals were served, we were both very pleased with what we were given, my steak was cooked exactly as I like it, and was very succulent with very little fat and gristle (as always seems to be the case at the Vauxhall!). When we had finished our meals we were offered the sweet menu but we declined on this occasion and just requested the bill and left soon after paying. We both commented on what a pleasant evening we had had.

Been to Vauxhall Inn a few times and was never disappointed. This time we were a big group of 9, greeted by the gracious Gemma, who was attentive and made us all felt welcomed. Food was good and reasonably priced as usual. Will definitely come back.

First time visit, unplanned but were in the area. Were seated fine without a reservation. Our main server, Gemma, was very helpful and friendly, there was another young lady also serving us whose name we didn't have but also friendly. There were some lovely specials on offer, we ordered the chicken and ham terrine starter, very well presented and tasty. For mains we had one special of the braised beef cheek and one roast dinner. The beef special was nice, served with mash and seasonal veg. The 3 meat roast was ok. The meat itself was lovely and tender, but roast potatoes were underwhelming, soggy rather than crisp (as was crackling). The Yorkshire pudding was inedible and burnt to a crisp, same too was the pig in blanket. Some nice seasonal veg though, so that was appreciated. Restaurant itself was also very cold, appreciate it's winter but was using my coat as a blanket as it was uncomfortably cold. Service was definitely the best aspect of the visit, thank you ladies.

We had a fantastic return visit yesterday evening. The food was delicious; we all had something different and all of the group commented on the quality of ingredients and size of portions. There was plenty to choose from on the menu. Our service was attentive and Gemma was warm and friendly. She made time to talk to our group, make recommendations and allowed us the right amount of time to make decisions on our orders. We felt well cared for. We look forward to returning!

Our family's NYD tradition, lunch in the Vauxhall Inn. Can't fault, food was delicious, service from Gemma was brilliant, drinks served by Chris was spot on. Such a lovely family orientated pub.

We were there on Wednesday to celebrate my daughter's birthday and had a lovely evening. The food was good and the service was excellently done by Hayley, who was an absolute delight.

Chris gave me absolutely brilliant service, top beer and good location next to the hotel.

I must say what an amazing pub, everything from the food, to the drinks to the service was amazing. The food and drinks are very fairly priced and the food was great! I must take my hat off to Evan the bartender he was always checking in on us and made us feel right at home. I will definitely be going back.

We came here to celebrate my dads birthday a couple of weeks ago. The food was great and all of the staff were really friendly. Jiya our waitress went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after. We will be returning very soon!

We had a family meal booked for our mums 60th birthday this Sunday 10th November. The service was perfect. The team and front of house staff were attentive, polite, professional and welcoming however, the food was the most disappointing meal we had ever had out. The turkey on the roast dinner was nothing but cheap processed jellified, tasteless watery slop, bland and just mush!. The pigs in blankets well, the sausage was so cold and the bacon it was wrapped in was so dry and you couldn’t even bite into it. The cauliflower cheese well, again frozen, floating in a watery sauce, which had no cheese whatsoever so ever - it was literally like a flour and water mix and resembled wallpaper paste it was Just vile. When the food was served to us some dishes had to be sent back as was stone cold. The cod and chips my daughter had was vile, again the fish fillet frozen in the middle , the batter raw and running down her chin, the only edible thing were the chips, even the mushy peas were all dried up and not fresh. My son had the child’s pizza, literally a microwave pizza, have had better from aldi! The dough wasn’t cooked/reheated through - and was soggy and wet. I complained to the manager Hayley, who was wonderful. She went above and beyond to apologise and rectify the problem as best she could, Agreed to take the food off of the bill, and offered us complementary deserts by way of apology as she knew this was a special occasion and the meal was completely unsatisfactory. One problem we could’ve probably accepted but every single element to every meal presented was just awful! Hayley and the team are wonderful and a credit to the company, I run a kitchen and have done for 7 years and I know that everything served was frozen food literally reheated , pigs in blankets pre cooked and kept refrigerated just to be heated up. The leeks may well have been the only thing cooked fresh on the day. Possibly the parsnips too, but that’s about all!! The chef needs some serious training or better still, sacking! Again I can’t emphasise enough how much Hayley went above and beyond to rectify as best she could. She was wonderful and deserves some recognition from the company for having to deal with this sort of thing, I could tell we were not the first and we certainly wouldn’t be the last. Such a shame.

Very helpful staff who made us feel very welcome. One of the party is disabled. Unfortunately a couple of items not available on the menu but the food was very good.

Popped in for a catch up with my friend and a quiet pint. Greene King not usually my favourite cask ale but here the beer is usually good, the Abbot on this occasion being very sippy. But it was Evan who made the visit. Courteous and professional, he was busy with drinks orders from the restaurant but remembered our repeat order and apologised if he could not serve us right away. Thanks Evan.

Lovely, welcoming restaurant and staff, especially Joshua who demonstrated a friendly, professional approach throughout our visit - well, visits as we have recently moved back to Tonbridge and ended up visiting 3x in one week as various family members came to see our new home 🏡 Beautifully cooked meals everytime ☺️

Sunday Roast Lunch. Thought by booking sharp it would be crisp. Wrong. Soggy everything except Yorkshire's and Crackling. Had the trio, soft uncrispy roast potatoes, dripping wet veg, mushy chicken, damp pork, disappointing beef. And stop putting bloody sultanas in Sticky Toffee pudding. It's made of dates already you do not need to add sultanas, why do this? So so disappointing.

Four of us dropped in for a Monday lunch. There was enough choice for eveyone, each having a different meal and all agreeing that each meal looked good. Everyone enjoyed their meals and all plates were cleared. We each had a dessert, again, all different and each one looked great. We escpecially enjoyed the stickey toffee, apple cake and chocolate brownies. It's situated in a good location, just on the outskirts of town. Plenty of parking - you just need to enter your Reg on the way in. We will come here again in future.

I arrived at the Vauxhall inn to a good atmosphere as I approached the bar I was welcomed by Chris who settled me in for my first time at the Vauxhall and he was there for support anytime I needed it. 5 star customer service from him

Popped in for a quick drink. Great service and lovely decor. While enjoying my honeybee gin, I couldn't stop looking at the days specials board. Decided the wild boar scotch egg needed sampling. I wasn't disappointed. It was devine, and I highly recommend it 👌 We will definitely be returning to try some more dishes.

Booked Sunday lunch for six. Service very slow and inattentive until we complained about the food, then the manager worked hard to improve our mood. Food was very poor; roast meals cold when served, fish really overcooked, other dishes disappointing (apart from the burger) Give this place a miss!

Roast today was banging - rib of beef and sticky toffee pudding!

Service was a little slow and they fine you £100 if you forget to register your car with their app (on a pub iPad) when parking in the pub car park. Having said that, the food was good, though unlikely to appeal to those looking for a wide range of healthy options. The coffee was ok.

I recently visited the Vauxhall Inn with some family for lunch. We were instantly met with a great atmosphere and friendly staff! The food was lovely and very reasonably priced! We will definitely be returning😁

Sunday dinner. Disappointed that no roasts were available, additionally many items from desert menu not available. This is not the first time this has happened. Food which we had was okay.

We have been twice recently, once for breakfast and once for a late decision dinner with our grand-dog in tow. On both occasions we were greeted with enthusiasm and made to feel very welcome. The food was very good on both visits. Particularly the breakfast on the Saturday morning. Well done to the hardworking staff for making sure we were well catered for.

Hayley and her staff hosted a memorable and beautiful wedding breakfast for us on 21 August. The inn was beautifully decorated and the food and wine divine. The bespoke menu options were wide- ranging. Hayley was involved in the preparations throughout, making our special occasion run smoothly. I recommend Hayley and the Vauxhall Inn to anyone looking for that special venue.

Had drinks and food here on 2 evenings while staying at the adjacent Premier Inn. A good experience on both occasions. A special mention for Josh on the 21st August: a personable and very helpful member of staff.

Lovely pub, been staying at the premier inn for a month now so eaten and drank here at least 20 times, food is always lovely, best food ever had at a premier inn and I stay in premier inns all over the country, beer is kept great and plenty of choice, but quiet atmosphere but stay here through week and is a good place to chill after work, can't fault the staff either, landlady is a laugh aswell

Made to wait for over 15mins to ask for a table for 2. Then to be told sorry no tables. But I said there,are plenty of tables I can see empty. She said sorry nothing for over an hour. It wasn't really the fact that there was no availability. It was the fact that we were just left standing at the door for so long waiting to ask. The girls just kept walking past us. Not so much as be with you in a minute or anything. It was like we were not there. I thought Monday night it won't be busy. Was not even offered alfresco dining, which we would not have minded.

We were staying at the premier inn next door and fancied some late lunch. We booked a table however when we turned up it may have been okay to not book as it was fairly quiet but it was midweek. Really enjoyed the cute interior and dried flowers. Staff were super friendly and very attentive, cannot fault the service. We both ordered burgers which were super yummy! One beef and one chicken. Would certainly eat here again if we stayed back at the premier inn.

Came across this beautiful pub , while we was visiting family , the food was absolutely delicious, and the service we received was brilliant, the young lad called Evan went out of his way to make sure we was looked after, serving drinks food etc, the atmosphere was so warming, will definitely be coming back again, and also informing my family to go here , to anyone passing give it a go great hospitality great pub 👍

Food good and plenty although ours arrived only just warmed waitress sorted without a problem. Bit of a long walk when you are disabled but if you use a wheelchair not too much of a problem.

Thank you for a quiet and friendly service for myself and my sister who has Autism. Hayley and Josh, you were very communication friendly too and really open to learning Makaton signs when my sister and I taught you. Went here today at lunchtime with a few family members celebrating a baby shower. The food was amazing, waited no longer than 15 minutes the service was excellent, very friendly. We was even given a bottle of prosecco for after baby had arrived on the house. Very happy and would highly recommend. Will be going back!

Always welcomed, entire team are great, good food offering and a lovely and well maintained environment inside and out. Quite often pop in for lunch. Credit where credit's due - it's cracking!

The bacon on the smothered chicken was dry and burnt,and when this was.pointed out to the waitress she said is the rest of the dish ok and just about to said sorry.The salad garnish consisted of a few rocket leaves,and three slices of radish swimming French dressing. All this after choosing a meal that I was then told was unavailable.Surely ,this should have been pointed out when the menus were handed to me.Not a pleasant lunch time.experience for price you charge.

Oh, French onion soup, a dream betrayed, A broth of disappointment, sadly made. No golden crust, no richness deep, Just pallid swirl, where flavors sleep. The limping onions, pale and wan, Their sweetness lost, a dreary yawn. The bread, a raft of spongy woe, No hint of cheese, a mournful flow. Each spoonful brings a watery plight, A tepid sigh, a flickering light. The promised warmth, a distant dream, This sorry soup, a culinary scheme.

I was in town for a wedding and decided to go to the Vauxhall for a meal the day before. The food was excellent and the staff made it such a unique and lovely experience that I will come back to Tonbridge just for this place. The staff instantly made me feel like I had known them my entire life. Trust me when I say that these kinds of places and people are rare to come across in life. ❤️

We stumbled across this place whilst travelling to Kent for the weekend. What a gem! The food was excellent, the staff friendly and the service great. If we're ever that way again we'll be sure to visit
