The Cinnamon Square in Tonbridge and Malling

Local restaurant where we usually order a take away or eat in. Last night order was very disappointing that we decided we will not be ordering food there anymore. The started of chilli paneer was very burned paneer and no chilli. It seems the chef didn’t care and this was the quality of food we had before. Same for the naan. The size is now half what it was before and was also burnt and very dry. The curry was good.

This was one of our favorite Indian restaurants for many years the restaurant had changed owners a few years ago and had lost some of its sparkle and style, the food was always of a good standard, but had lost the dynamic versatility and depth it had achieved In it first few years. We discovered to our delight that the original owner had decided to take the restaurant back. All I can say is WOW the Cinnamon Square was now back to its former glory, the food was fantastic the decor was pleasantly upgraded, with a wonderful attention to detail Customer care was excellent, the atmosphere was popping, it was busy but the service was swift the waiters were impeccably polite. We had a superb meal, the experience was equal to any high end London restaurant, Thank you for making our visit so memorable Incredible food, wonderful service

We had an amazing curry here last night. The food was really good, the staff attentive but not overly so, and the ambience is calm, relaxed and friendly. We shall definitely eat here again!

This was our 1st visit after a recommendation from a Friend. It was a lovely experience from start to finish, and we felt welcomed when we arrived and appreciated when we left, service was excellent. They had a reasonably priced wine list and extensive food choices, everything we had was of excellent quality & we enjoyed it all, will likely return as it is definitely a “cut above”, the average Indian/Asian Restaurant in the area, that we have experienced.

We visited the restaurant for a friends birthday this weekend. I can’t fault them in anyway. Wonderful and thoughtful even when booking. I bought a cake which they sneaked out the back so she didn’t see. They then made a real fuss of her and even gave her a present from the restaurant! The food was excellent, beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The restaurant environment was lovely and spacious and spotlessly clean. I would definitely go again - thank you to all the staff who were so kind and attentive.

One of my all time favourite restaurants. I have been coming here for years and the food is always cooked to a high standard. The food on this occasions was 10/10. The Chicken Jatka and Zeera meat was delicious. The keema chilli naan was scrumptious. Highly recommended.

The restaurant was almost empty (only 2 tables occupied), which at least made the service good, but meant that there was absolutely no atmosphere and we were asked to finish up quickly at 2.30pm so that they could close the kitchen! The food was plentiful but absolutely nothing special - I have been to many better high street Indian restaurants. The price was far too high for what we got - I wil not be returning.

Lovely Bangladeshi food. Service could be very much improved. Food arrived without plates. Sauces were taken away when still required. Difficult to communicate with staff. Will be going back.

Very good but pricy. Huge in size. Aways seems to have a loyal customer base which means booking 1st on Friday & Saturdays.

Iiving in Tunbridge wells means low quality Indian food so the Cinnamon Kitchen can easily stand out. The service was good on the whole, some staff were extremely friendly and others looked grumpy, no complaints. Starters of lamb chops, duck tikka were cooked nicely and packed flavour, presentation was good. Main course I ordered the spiciest dish, this wasn’t very hot but next time I will get them to add more chilli. I do like hot food. The rest of my party (4 in total) were happy although a couple of dishes tasted too sweet for me, but that’s me. Sides were all good including the tarka dhal . Bill? Including 3 starters , 4 mains, 2 rice, dhal , spinach side , 6 popadoms , 2 ice cream desserts, 3 beers , 2 J2Os , 2 cokes and an Irish coffee. £190 (including service charge). I wouldn’t say it was outstanding but I’ll definitely go back.

Located near Hildenborough train station, Cinnamon Square is in a very nice, convenient location, but my experience was a mix of positives and negatives. Service at the restaurant was not as prompt as one would expect. It took nearly an hour before anyone asked for our order, and only after bringing this to the attention of the manager. This aspect of the visit was somewhat disappointing. However, the drinks waiter was on point having already served us drinks and a second round. When the food finally arrived, it presented a blend of familiar and subtly flavors. The dishes were well-prepared, but nothing particularly stood out as exceptional. The overall experience was not extraordinary, but some may find comfort in the familiar flavors and well-executed dishes. The restaurant itself is attractively designed and benefits from its location in the tranquil surroundings of Hildenborough, coupled with its proximity to the train station. The venue is large and open, making it a relaxing place to dine. In conclusion, Cinnamon Square Indian offers a reliable option for those seeking Indian cuisine in a comfortable setting. While the service was not as efficient as desired, the restaurant provides a well-prepared meal even if it wasn't anything exceptional.

Me and my family got Indian delivered from here. All food was average exempt from the Dahl. It might as well have been water, it tasted like water too. If you come here, DONT BUY THE DAHL!

My first visit was with work colleagues a week ago, it was so good I returned with my wife a week later. The food and service on both visits was faultless. The lamb shank is amazing. The also noticed the lady who seated us disinfexting all the menus around 10pm. Far from the last Indian restaurant I went to with food stuck to the menu. Great restaurant!

Fantastic Restaurant and amazing food.

Quite surprised at the outstanding reviews of the food...dont get me wrong the staff were lovely, and the atmosphere is great but the food was all fairly bland? Nothing packed a punch, little heat and spice. It was fine, but totally inoffensive.

Thoroughly enjoyed my meal with the rotary club. Great venue and look forward to visiting again.

Went here with high expectations as a lot of people had said how good it was. I honestly couldn’t fault it, food was the best I’ve had, decor was spotless and the staff were fantastic, super friendly and professional. An absolute must if you are in the area.

Amazing food, but really disappointing they do not provide high chairs? I’ve never come across a restaurant that doesn’t provide high chairs and it’s stopped us from coming for the last year.

Last minute decision to go, booked for 14 people - it was busy when we arrived - staff were very polite. Did take a while to get our orders taken. Food did not disappoin when we finally recented it.

I've been going here for a long time and it is easily the best Indian food in the area. We had an issue with an order (the only time we have ever been anything but 100% impressed) a few months ago and contacted them to let them know of the issues. They responded quickly and offered a discount on our next order. Last weekend we made our order and when we went in to pickup the manager was there to meet us, discuss the issue we had last time and to apologise. This was incredible customer service and really shows how much they care. Safe to say our takeaway was back to the exceptionally high standard we are used to from Cinnamon Square!

Best Indian food in a long time!

Love this place, for us it's a night out from Chelsfield few stops on the train into the countryside no driving great curry then train back. Great service and good food. Thank you.

A lovely evening meal, very large place, plenty of parking, service snd food is excellent.

I think the food is good but we waited a good hour and a half for the food to come out. It's the third time it's taken so long. I think the kitchen is too small for the number of tables outside. It really impacts the experience and the food is usually a bit cold (rice). Not sure what can be done because otherwise the atmosphere is great.

I am not a regular visitor to "indian" restaurants, curry or balti houses. I am fond of the food but find I am usually daunted by a menu full of unfamiliar names. Cinnamon was no exception and the menu was impressive, offering a wide range of dishes. I was part of a large group (and some were obviously regulars) and everyone made their own selection. Consequently a large (20+) number of different dishes were ordered and to be fair they all looked subtly different and responded to the group's varied tastes for heat or flavour, meat, fish or vegetables. I was impressed at the restaurant's ability to handle all the different orders and bring the dishes out at roughly the same time both for the starters and the main course. Clearly there's a well organised kitchen and the service was first class. Above all the food was delicious. As far as I could tell everyone was happy with their meals. So well done Cinnamon. Top marks for food and service. For the record I chose Cinnamon Special for my main, a subtle mix of chicken, lamb and peppers with a medium hot sauce and ordered a side of rice. Very happy with my choice.

I have ummed and aged about this place for years. I’d always heard good things about it from many regulars. But a coupe of reviews I’d read made me hesitant. Last night we went for an impromptu visit and the food was delicious and the staff courteous and patient. I will definitely be going again and would recommend!

Google maps was wrong about the opening times although the bulk of their business is in the evenings. We went on a Sunday lunch time in July 24 and were almost on our own. The place is lovely and bright and clean, the service and food were excellent.

we have had takeaway from here a few times now and the food is delicious a little greasy but absolutely amazing highly recommended to anyone in the area i have also worked here as a face painter in the past and the family are so awesome,

The decor in this restaurant is very nice with a modern feel about it. The service was excellent and the food was one of the best I have had in any Indian restaurant. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.

Was looking for a great Indian restaurant and landed on this. We were definitely not disappointed! Great atmosphere, exceptional food, and wonderful experience. Every dish we tried was singularly incredible with an array and explosion of flavor. Tried the wine pairing to go with and was very pleased with how each one complimented the dish. Definitely a great value and experience!

We ordered a takeaway from Cinnamon Square earlier this week, and their lamb xacuti gave my husband food poisoning and has been violently ill since. We emailed them asking for help, and they didn't even respond to my email which is appalling. I definitely will NEVER BE RETURNING to Cinnamon Square and would strongly advise others to consider the health and safety of the restaurant!

In the past always fantastic, has there been a change of staff or ownership? Dreadful table service (glasses picked up round the top despite still being used, plates stacked and cutlery dropped on the table, not attentive at all). Soft drinks now served by the bottle and not on draft, and very expensive. And more. Such a shame, only ever used to come here ever since it opened and now will have to try elsewhere.

Could have given 4 stars cos service a bit slow. Had to wait ages for drinks. BUT the food is absolutely 1st class excellent fresh ingredients cooked to perfection

We have been here a number of times, this is definitely one of our favourite restaurants for a curry. Its always very busy which must say something. Staff are very polite, atmosphere is good, the food is always fabulous.

I ordered a take out from the Cinnamon the other weekend - for 6 of us. However - when I got home one of the main meals was missing. I called and they had the cheek to tell me that I would need to drive back and either collect the meal or they would give me a refund but only if I went in to the restaurant. I asked for their manager to call me back as I was pretty angry at this point. They didn't call me so I emailed them and told them I shouldn't have to drive back in order to get a refund but they still haven't answered the email. This is the last time I will go to them. Awful experience. Oh - and their portion sizes are getting ridiculously small!!

Wonderful food and service, a little expensive but it's worth it.

Normally a good meal, booked for our sons birthday and the staff were miserable and rude. Meals were OK but not great. Customer service needs to improve its not good enough.

We love this restaurant and so pleased it has survived the COVID years and last night it seemed to have upped its quality. The four of us all chose different dishes and cleared our plates. The food was delicious and well presented and the restaurant is immaculately clean, well lit and heated. I would totally recommend it to any curry lover. A huge menu.. something for everyone’s taste.

We had an enjoyable evening, the food and service was good. However, when the bill arrived we were disgusted to see a charge for chutney per person ( although 1 person didn't have poppadoms), £6.95 per single shot of Malibu (normally £3.50) and a 10% service charge added to the bill. We expected the prices to be slightly higher than other places, but that was ridiculous. We shan't be returning.

Would defiantly recommend. Visited on a busy night so food took slightly longer than usual but we were constantly asked if we wanted more drinks, poppadoms etc.

Awesome food but tiny portions!!!!! I have been here many times but alas that was the final time and final straw. The quality of the food is wonderful but they have Literally cut the portions on half. Four pieces of chicken in a curry costinf £12 is not acceptable. Rice at £5.50 again small. There are thankfully many great Indian restaurants around so you can go to them rather than be ripped off here.

Bad experience, went to eat in, staff was unfriendly, we were badly treated only wanted to sit down and eat for 20min but was told they are fully booked when the restaurant was completely empty, I believe it was because of our skin colour.

Surely the best Indian takeout food in the Tonbridge- TWells area am I right? You can always tell the authenticity by the quality of the naan bread. Like a good fish n chippie it’s how good are the chips. Another example; sushi, experts say it’s about the rice. I could go on but that’s about it for now:)) oh I just read some not great reviews about the dining in service which I have not yet experienced.

We have been here for a family dinner. Service was great. And from every single dishes, you can see, feel and taste how much thoughts chefs have put into each dish. Cozy place. I highly recommend it.

Customer service was awful. Asked to leave because they wanted to close even though others were still at their tables. Putting our used cutlery back in front of us to leave a mess on the table. Hurrying us up to order and telling us to eat our poppadoms quickly otherwise they’ll go cold. Rude generally. Food was delicious however the waiting staff were often rude and abrupt in manner…. and their attention to table detail… such as replacing used cutlery…. v poor… If you are taking an order and you can’t quite hear, politely ask the customer to repeat it… rather than say to his partner….’What did he say??’… …awful… sadly….

So we took our son and his girlfriend and sister are to celebrate his 18th birthday. We had heard awesome things about the restaurant. On arrival we have checked in with our booking name. Took three people to find it so not a great start....

I’ve never written a negative review before but I was very disappointed with my experience on 1/6/22, The food was nice but the front of house was very poor, borderline rude. Won’t be coming back and won’t be suggesting to friends.

The best Indian cuisine another great meal

I have been dining here since moving locally. Fantastic food every time and have tried multiple different dishes. Always friendly service and value for money. Located next to train station so easy access if not driving. Highly recommend the lamb chops.

Tidy upmarket style curry house. Food is great, service is quick and surroundings neat. Always top of the list when the curry questions is asked.

Very poor service. Arrived after booking 30 minutes earlier and n one was expecting us. Had poppadoms and drinks and after 45 minutes main order still not taken !

The food was amazing I had a madras with eggs fried rice and it was one of the best I have had the services was great the waiters was all available when needed and the price was reasonable

This restaurant offers an expansive menu, catering for a variety of diets. The food is great, the service speedy and offers a lovely atmosphere. We did feel slightly rushed during our meal, but nonetheless, everything else was super for an informal weekend dinner.

Sad to have to leave this review. We do enjoy it here- the food is good, we actually have recommended to friends but they do overcharge. I would like to see it as an error but my elderly mum went here and she was over charged by £25.00 and we have recently eaten here and overcharged by a similar amount. I would like to say it’s unintentional but the fact it’s happened more than once isn’t good. I have called them and asked to speak with manager but nobody returned my call. The food is nice but check your bill always.

We have ordered takeaway from here twice before and its been really enjoyable, however we had a takeaway last night and sorry to say it was a real disappointment, when collecting the order I was 5 minutes early for pick up only to have to wait 15 minutes till I received my order only to get it home and it being stone cold, I had ordered lamb biryani and specifically asked for NO peas in the curry but came with peas it’s a good job I’m not allergic to them! The food was tasteless not up to its usual standard so much so we couldn’t eat it and ended up in the bin it was that dreadful!!

Friends of ours turned up about 20 minutes after us and had had their meal and was leaving while we were still eating. The bar area was very, very busy for takeaways. It seems they are more interested in this. Very disappointed.

We come once a month now as we like it so much. The staff are Lovely and food is beautiful no matter what you order it will be the best quality. Staff even offered if I didn't like the dish I was trying they would change it free of charge.
