Standard slips, as I have been here before and enjoyed the service, ambience and food. But on this occasion, service slow, food was ok not to the usual standard of vibrant taste, was bland. All of which was topped off with being charge for per item in the chutney tray x 2 each time we ordered pompadours rather than a single charge - poor.Maybe it was due to being closed due to COVID but disappointing.

Never tried Lazzat, the amount of time we've passed it. Fancied something different whilst in lockdown and ordered meals for the 4 of us. Food was very bland to the point of lacking in any depth of taste, leaving all of us very disappointed. I'll put it down to the lockdown that the kitchen wasn't on full speed as i'd heard from friends it was nice.

What a lovely warm welcome. As I pulled up to Lazard I was greeted with open arms by the owner. He saw to it I was comfortable, watered and informed about its recommendations. The reason Lazzat, a British Indian restaurant, has been around for so long is what it brings to a community. It is not just a place to grab some food. It’s a place to bring the family, chat to the host and share. The food is as you would expect from a British Indian Restaurant. It is brought in on a trolley, served piping hot and spiced to your liking. The portions are huge and the price is low.Lazzat, for me is an institution, a piece of nostalgia that will bring a smile to your face.

My wife and I eat at Indian restaurants a lot so it has to be exception to get a 5. The Lazzat is very good. The manger is extremely friendly, knows the locals and his personality lifts the restaurant above the norm. A friend is a regular and suggested the Kebab started with an omelette which was disappointing. Too much egg and salad bits, not enough kebab. My wife went for the Garlic Chicken curry and I had the King Prawns in a red fairly hot sauce. The Prawns were truly King Sized, not the small ones that often are passed off. The Garlic Chicken was tasty and had nice chunks of good chicken. All in all we enjoyed our visit and would return.

Food was tasty, but don't have an allergy. I'm coeliac, and when I approached the staff to let them know and inquire about any of the dishes that I should avoid, (Indian food is very good for not having gluten in it, it's mostly safe apart from bread, bajhi, pakora and poppadoms so I'm quite relaxed about eating) I was told there was no gluten in the kitchen. I was surprised and asked if that meant the Nan bread was gluten free. I had to explain that they used wheat which contained gluten. The staff seemed unaware of where gluten came from. Anyway after a bit of too-ing and fro-ing I felt I'd got a much out of then as I was going to. I was unimpressed and didn't trust that they were taking me seriously the response was effectively yeah yeah yeah, whatever.

I visited Lazzat last night with 4 friends, We were greeted by friendly staff who made sure we were seated and offered drinks very quickly. Being a Thursday evening, the restaurant was not very busy when we arrived but soon filled up a bit, although not too crowded. We had a lovely 3 course meal including Tandoori Chops, Biriani and duck Korai plus a few other dishes, breads and veg. All rounded off with a nice dessert and a complimentary drink afterwards.

We wanted to try somewhere different for a birthday meal and Lazzat has been nestled in Fairseat for many years and I'd often wondered what it would be like. We weren't disappointed. The food was lovely. We went in the middle of the week and there was a rather large hen party also there that evening. It did mean that the service was a little slower than I would expect but, having said that, it wasn't disastrously slow. I would definitely go again to try some more of the dishes and that was the general consensus of the whole family.

We were taken here for dinner on a Saturday night and it was our first time here. the welcome was warm and the waiters were very efficient.. I have to say we really liked the food, a bit different for the standard type of curries we are used to. The quality and taste of the food was excellent. Lloved the Lazziz even though it looked a little off putting as the chicken was bright green! But don't be put off as the herbs and spices were lovely and the chicken was very tender. I then had a chicken jalfrezi which was again freshly cooked and tasty. We all enjoyed the food and it was all freshly cooked however the long wait to get both the starter and then the main course was a little frustrating. The restaurant was very busy and they were taking a lot of orders for takeaway and I wonder if they were prioritising the takeaway over the diners. We had a table booked for 6.30pm and left at 10.15pm so if you are looking for fast food Lazzat is not the place for you but I do think the food is that little bit better than some of the other local Indian restaurants. Not sure I would go back though unless the time between courses is much reduced which is a pity.

Service very average, had to ask to place order after the round of popadums where eaten. Food took sometime to come and was ok nothing special, lacked true flavour and sauce in the dishes where below average. Better restaurants I know with better service and food flavour. Would I go back?? Not top of my list to be fair....

This is a mixed review because our food was great but the service was disappointing. We had visited Lazzat before and had no complaints. This time - a quiet Saturday night - something was out of place. The service was slow and inattentive, to the point that we had to leave our seats to get the waiter's attention more than once. When we did get served the waiters were unfriendly and slightly aloof. We arrived at 8pm and didn't get our main course until 9.15pm. And then one course was missing and we were offered no apology. When we questioned the service one waiter merely seemed to shrug and smirk. The restaurant was almost empty and yet the service was substandard. The food was delicious which makes it even more disappointing that I have to leave a bad review. Not sure we'll be back.

After driving past this place numerous times I decided to give it a try....1. The venue has ample parking ( but if you are dining here late Fri/Sat evening it gets busy ). It is clean and presentable. If anything it could do with a bit of redecoration.....but thats just being picky.2. The food was very nice indeed.....a wide range off choice and good value.3. The staff were friendly. The only let down for us was the delay in bringing menus at the start......it took way to long ( but I think this was a mistake by a new member of staff )This isn't the best Indian I have eaten in.....but well worth trying so I will return.

I ordered a takeaway from here as I was planning a largish gathering in the near future and wanted to see what the food is like before I booked the table. We ordered two naan breads that were very good, garlic chilli chicken? The chicken was rubbery and the chillies were raw. Probably just thrown into the house sauce along with the garlic at the end... lamb dahjeeling, again the same sauce with different things added at the end..tasted ok though. Onion bahjee, flavourless and not at all crispy. In fact a texture that I have not encountered for a while, not in a good way.... pilau rice, soft and flavourless.. all in all not a good experience.

I have been coming to this restaurant since 2008 after attending a works Xmas meal out and was really impressed. I had my 21st birthday here and many other family birthday and anniversary celebrations. The staff are very friendly and happy to help. Fridays and Saturdays are very busy so I would suggest that you book a table so to avoid disappointment or go early evening as it really does get busy from around 8pm onwards. I would suggest car sharing on these nights too as the car park does get pretty busy. Food is great. I'm not a hot curry lover but I can recommend the pasanda and for starter the prawn on puree (hope I've spelt that correctly)really very yummy.

I visited Lazzat with family on Sunday, i booked a table but a needn't bothered as it was empty except fir a couple of tables, i can't see how this restaurant gets passing trade so must rely on regulars and they seemed to be busy with take away orders. We sat on a round table which i always like as you can socialise better. The poppadoms and sauces were good and i opted for a pint of Kingfisher rather than a Cobra and i think i prefer it. The starters were tasty, onion bhaji's had flavour which was good as some restaurants just serve balls of air. The main dishes all looked good and were of a decent portion size. My wife had a shaslick which she enjoyed. I went for a Lamb Korma which was unusual as i normally have a Jalfrezi. The flavour was good although it could have done with some more meat in the dish and it appeared to be more sauce than meat. The Masala potatoes are different, not a regular feature on many curry menu's but certainly worth trying! The staff were very polite and welcoming. Atmosphere was lacking a little but i suppose that is what is to be expected on a Sunday evening. All in all a decent Indian. Would recommend and would return, but possibly select a dish that'll have a bit more meat in it.

The boss was attentive and a big personality, another waiter patiently explained the best choices to my parents who aren't spice fans! The food was lovely, I recommend the tandoori king prawns which were huge & the garlic chilli chicken for you heat lovers. The portions were generous too. The only criticism is the choice of long drinks is sparse, only lager no cider, after that just sodas, spirits and wine available. Had to request menus after a 10 minute wait.It was clear that the restaurant was seriously under-staffed for a busy Saturday evening (which was confirmed when I spoke with one of the waiters) resulting in long waits for service for both food and drinks. There was a wait of at least 45 mins between starter and main course. I had lamb tikka masala which was was poor quality - the cubed lamb had the texture and taste of being reheated and overcooked, which I pointed out to the waiter. It was a wholly disappointing meal added to by slow and inattentive service.I cannot see myself returning.

We were regulars at the Alishan and so thought we’d give this a go now it’s had a name change and, I think, new management. Sadly it did not live up to expectations. We were early in (6:30pm) but did not get our meal for over an hour (7:45pm). The food was ok, nothing great and definitely not as good as before. Upon leaving, the place was almost full but lots of tables waiting for food.

Local restaurant where we usually order a take away or eat in. Last night order was very disappointing that we decided we will not be ordering food there anymore. The started of chilli paneer was very burned paneer and no chilli. It seems the chef didn’t care and this was the quality of food we had before. Same for the naan. The size is now half what it was before and was also burnt and very dry. The curry was good.

Went to the raj last night and it was exactly what we wanted. The welcome was friendly. The staff were attentive but not rushing to get you out. In fact we probably sat chatting for too long after the meal but weren’t made to feel like it mattered. The food was fresh, looked good and tasted better. I chatted to several other groups in the restaurant and they all loved the raj.
