Just popped in for a drink with family, made to to very welcome, beautiful drop of beer, well worth a visit, well definitely be going back.

The man of Kent is just for drinking beer and others. Excellent landlord feel has we have know him for years . Only knew him for two days but wont forget him anytime soon. And the beer was brilliant good cellar if in area go visit. 😁

Quaint pub with good TVs to watch the rugby world cup. Nice little outside area too. The Scottish gentleman who I believe is the new manager was very welcoming and friendly to me and my husband, even though we are South African and were there to watch SA vs Scotland! Will definitely be back, thanks for the hospitality.

A fantastic family run irish pub. The landlords are wonderful people, lovely to chat to, the rest of the staff are equally as pleasant and friendly. Superb choice of drinks and are among some of the best that I’ve been served in any pub. You will always feel at home in this pub. If you’re in Tonbridge, looking for a pub, this one should be at the top of your list.

Wonderful little pub with lovely staff who are very friendly. The pub was very clean and tidy. It was a quietish Monday when we were there but the locals were fantastically welcoming. The Guinness was excellent as was the Doom Bar

A great pub right in the heart of Tonbridge. The new land lords of this pub are great and have turned there Man of Kent into one of the best traditional pubs in town. The beer tastes amazing and the Saturday Karaoke is great!

A very pretty pub in the heart of old Tonbridge. Good seating both indoors and out. Toasty warm inside, was a bit chilly out on my visit but the garden was so peaceful I couldn't pass it up. Good selection of beers at reasonable prices so it would make an excellent stop off on a pub crawl or just for a cosy pint on a cold afternoon. A friendly little dog present too which is always a big plus in my books.

Only second time here, but good service, bar staff friendly and helpful, nice atmosphere, karaoke going on which was entertaining, recommended.

Being nice, gave it top marks, I'm sure it's a lovely pub - but you can't call yourselves the Man of Kent pub! Has nobody told you you're on the wrong bank of the River Medway? You should be the Kentish Man. I'm all in a tiz about this act of cultural rebellion!

No opening times visible. Landlord could be just about bothered to come and tell me the pub wasn't open yet. Very poor attitude. Couldn't give zero stars

Ruff and rude! Locals are judgemental, went in for my friends birthday and the man at the bar decided he didn’t like us and the staff where just as rude! Avoid at all cost. Go to the checkers inn instead

Smell hit you of stale beer or drains.before being looked at by the barman like something that s come of his shoe.no smile no welcome. shame that one of our Tonbridge jewels has such bad service

What a nice little place! Surprisely! Probably one of the best in Tonbridge (and we've visited all of them) :)) Very nice and friendly staff. Great atmosphere. We've truly enjoyed our visit. The place is looked after and the toilets are very clean and smell nice (which is always, personally for me, is an indication of quality in general). Highly recommend!

Off the High St, a quiet and sociable pub with a small, sheltered beer garden. Always excellent Harveys on pump plus some main brewery regulars. I've always had no problem finding a table.

Fantastic rustic tucked out of the way pub with a small beer garden to the rear. Bit of a limited choice of beers, little rough around the edges and definately one for the locals.

Barely changed (in a good way) in 20 years. Guinness very good. Cosy as you like.

The place stank of sewage, very basic and long in the tooth choice of beer, only one ale, which was Harveys, which was pungent and stale. The landlord sat at the bar playing on his laptop, whist customers sat at the bar in silence. This is why so many pubs are closing down. Dreadful. I've only given 2 stars because its a lovely old building.

Nice, old fashioned kind of pub. With a real fire pumping out heat in winter. The only things that stopped me giving in 5 stars was the fact that it does not serve food and smokers hang around the doorway allowing their smoke to come inside. Quite a good beer selection and nice friendly staff. A small garden at the back.

This is a lovely local pub, excellent location, just off the main drag of vibrant Tonbridge high street (north end) still has a great feel about it it's such a shame, it is mainly a drinking pub, no food, decent coffee machine or cakes. .. an additional offering of home made soups, sandwiches, lite bite pub classics, and tea&coffee options on lunchtime menu deal, may get the local office/business workers/retired persons/students and locals back on the map.

A once lovely pub, now a little bit drab. I went back here for the first time in about 10 years on a Friday afternoon, quiet compared to other pubs. Not much has changed inside apart fro. Two garish slot machines, not a good selection of ales/bitters, just Harvey's which was adequate, most were drink lager or Guinness. Only stayed for one drink as it was a bit whiffy, not sure whether that's was the toilets or something else.

Potentially nice local boozer limited a bit by a restricted beer selection and a seemingly disinterested landlord.

Pleasantly surprised. I love a good old fashioned local but sometimes they can be a bit cliquey but we felt very welcome in the Man of Kent. No good if you want a choice of 40 different gins but great if you don't want to pay £9 each for them! In short, a lovely little local, smart and clean without being modernised. Will definitely be going back
