Autumn returns, winter dog walking is back, the log fires at The Swan are burning brightly and the welcome is as warm as ever. Three generations of family gathered for lunch last Saturday and we were not disappointed. Beautifully kept ale and delicious food awaited. I had the homemade Prawn Curry which was simple, not too fiery and full of prawns. Others had the Beef Burger and excellent chips while some had the soup and wonderful Cheese Toastie – hot wholemeal bread oozing with melted cheddar. We do hope that this wonderful old pub survives its present ownership crisis.

What a lovely pub/restaurant. Plentiful parking. Cosy log fire keeping us comfortable. Very friendly service and not pushy at all. Liked the question about allergies after taking the orders. Reasonable period given to complete each course before serving next course. Food portions are generous and the presentation and quality are mouth watering. After starter and main course we couldn’t manage a dessert but had perfect coffees. Superb choice of beer and wine. We are not a vegetarian but there is something for everyone on the menu. Well worth a trip to West Peckham in beautiful Kent.

With no kitchen due to building work we decided to return to a favourite of ours and enjoy a Sunday roast at The Swan on the Green. As ever we were not disappointed, all 3 of us enjoyed the roast beef, cooked beautifully and customer service to match. A chocolate tart and apricot and ginger crumble to follow didn’t disappoint either. Another great visit to a excellent country pub

The staff and atmosphere are always great and the food never disappoints, the staff are always so helpful with our food intolerences and we can eat here with confidence that the food will always be fresh, tasty and no traces of ingredients that would make us ill - it is really appreciated the effort you go to each time we visit. Thank you once again, we love eating at your friendly pub and will visit again soon.!

Upon arrival, the outside of this historic pub is very unsuspecting. However, the bar is very well stocked, the staff are friendly and helpful. The landlady is welcoming and has a fab sense of humour. We ordered 3 courses and each one was excellently cooked and we'll presented by a great chef. Absolutely worth a try. We will certainly be returning! Top notch.

This is a lovely pub with a great restaurant and very friendly staff. It's a regular for my parents because of the consisently high quality of food and warm and welcoming service. It's a popular spot for locals and people out on a walk (it's dog-friendly :)). I'd really recommend their version of Eton Mess for a delicious and very generous portion (albeit with a slightly funny name (Swan Mess!) :)).

Another highly successful family dog walk (2 x Labrador, Show Cocker Spaniel and a Vizla) with 9 adults for lunch by the log fire. Once again we submitted our order in advance and once again we were rewarded with delicious hot food served simultaneously - quite a skilled feet for a msall and unpretentious kitchen. Pick of the servings was the new Chicken Shish with flatbread, tasty yoghurt etc (£17.95) and the grilled Calves Liver and bacon with mash (£18.95). Draught beer exceptional as usual and the total with 10% service was £199.65. We do hope that the pub is bought by the local community instead of being converted by a developer for housing. It is an historic building fronting the perfect English village green and is especially popular in the summer months. Fingers crossed that we keep our wonderful "local"

Another very successful lunch with dog at this lovely rural pub. Our table was next to the log fire which provided real warmth both visually and thermally. There are rumours that the owner may be selling to a local consortium of villagers but the deal has not yet happened. The food was delicious with homemade mushroom soup and charcuterie platter being praised but the men in the party, including me, opted for the Burger with crispy BBQ Chicken and hot Korean sauce with Asian slaw and chips (£17.95). This was fantastic as the chips really crisp, the slaw a nice cool antidote to the burger sauce, The chicken was moist breast ; very tender and full of flavour. The Korean sauce was hot but so tasty. I am not usually a "burger man" but this was exceptional. Our only concern was the long time taken to deliver range of dishes, albeit quite varied, for 8 people. We probably waited an hour from arrival. All the food was obviously prepared a cooked from scratch which was marvellous but we did wonder what would have happened if the pub had been much busier? Overall another great visit and we will most certainly return.

We have been going to this pub for several years ana always found the food and service excellent. Today we found the food extremely bad: the food was cold and served on cold plates, the manager offered to heat the meals under the grill but that would have made the duck even tougher. The tiramisu was solid cream with no coffee or alcohol and had an artificial taste.

I visited with a family last Friday and was incredibly impressed by the staff, despite it being busy they were always helpful. We had one issue with one part of a meal, but it was quickly and efficiently addressed and resolved. The food was excellent and my steak was cooked perfectly, as was the other visitors I came with. Although the cost was quite high, you genuinely get what you pay for - a great atmosphere, tasteful decoration and the quality of food was definitely reflective of the cost. The only thing I would suggest, is that the website has photos of the staff, so they can be thanked by name - but of course only if they have no issue with this, they have a right to privacy like all of us. I've not been to a Michelin restaurant, but I imagine it would be like the Carpenters Arms. Thank you staff, chef(s) and pub manager.
