Rose & Crown in Tonbridge and Malling

It is a small, local pub. The people and the owner Driton (I guess he is the owner and I am not sure if I spelled his name correctly) were very friendly. We were driving passed, little lost and I desperately needed to go to the toilet. We saw that pub in nowhere, stopped and order something before using the toilet. Driton was so friendly, he said we don’t need to buy anything for using the toilet unlike some other pubs’ where the toilets are only for the use of the customers” rule. If we weren't in a hurry to go to our friends’ house we would like to spend more time with these lovely people. We stayed around 10-15 minutes but it was like being in a family. The pub is little old fashion but very lovely. There are lots of photographs and big, old, iron cutlery on the walls. No food service but there are variety of nibbles. Clean toilets. The only thing I didn’t like is the boar’ head on the wall. Hope it is not real.

Telephoned this pub to check that they do food on a Monday as many pubs don't these days and got a very kurt reply that they don't do food at all and when I mentioned that their web site says they serve food every day from noon I was told that I must have them mixed up with the Rose & Crown in Tonbridge. I checked their web site and it VERY CLEARLY says they serve food every day, so I called them back and suggested if they insist on having a web site then they must keep it up to date. So this is one pub we will be giving a wide berth to and I suggest others might do as well.

Great little pub that remains popular with locals, craft beer , food, pub games , community charity fundraiser. Limited outside seating but always attracts lots of people outside.
