The Bird In Hand is the name given to the bar inside the large marquee at Chinnor Rugby Club, which also serves the benches alongside one side of the pitch. Club members get a 15% discount on prices, but these are pretty good for non-members as well. On our first visit we sat outside but it was a windy day ! But it was good to see the Rugby club open and hopefully they will soon be able to start playing regularly again.

The food might be good but our main courses bore insufficient correlation with what we had specifically ordered. Either our server was not listening or the order was incorrectly recorded or the kitchen messed up. OK, there was an apology but having arrived very late for lunch there were not many diners left so there was a loss of focus that rebounded on us

Smarts Thame your chips are terrible they are overcooked, recooked so all brown to nearly black, tiny and lots of hard bits! Your response just shows you as immature and very unprofessional to be providing food below customer expectations, nearly every other customer review has a reference to your poor quality chips etc! I would rather travel to Aylesbury than set foot in your shops again after coming to you for years! And by the way this is NOT a fake review as you imply in your rude unprofessional response.

Staff bended backwards to make us feel welcomed. There's a small sitting area upstairs where they serve cooked breakfast. Food was nice, drinks were super nice.

It's a cosy cafe with a nice log fire. The garden area must be great in the summer. Whilst I appreciate it is a tea and cakes cafe it's not a spot on a european cafe. The selection of cakes is tired looking and there is no hot food or snacks. My breakfast was pretty ordinary. Mediocre tasting coffee. My offering of toast was unimpressive. Supermarket sliced bread with two small packaged pieces of butter and a tiny pot of marmalade. With Thame being a market town I would suggest; Doorsteps of real farmhouse bread. A pot of proper butter and a pot of homemade marmalade. Overpriced as it is at the moment. My request for a second coffee never appeared.

New staff so can't review service quality fairly. Food average.

Visited here with friends today. Staff were exceptionally friendly yet professional. Food came out quickly and was delicious. Very pleasant atmosphere. Would definitely recommend

I used to go there on a Friday night, it was a good night but they changed the DJ and the new Friday DJ is awful, It's now last on the list for a night out.

Great food as always…but. No idea why they dropped the baton today as it’s always the standard setter in Thame. Thankfully the young lady from Victoria in Aus played an Ace and rescued the situation for which we are truly thankful. Good fortune when you return home shortly.

Had a lovely meal here, very authentic Thai cuisine Staff friendly and efficient It's very popular so make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment. Will definitely return. Thank you.

Absolutely lovely pub, good range of CAMRA ales available, tried a couple of them. Atmosphere is very good and friendly.

Ordered extra toppings and called to asked for pizza to be well done - confirmed OK , turned up undercooked, lacking the basics - sauce and cheese!! 0* NEVER AGAIN

Just about the worst takeaway I've ever had, cold, bland, inedible. Missing drinks and chicken in the burger was basically non existent. £25 for cardboard chips, no chicken chicken burger, I think we got the end of food that had been sitting there for the day. Really really disappointed. Shocking.
