The Fox & Goat in South Oxfordshire

A great meal out for our anniversary. I have a nut allergy, Grace & Katie very accommodating and reassuring. Great hosts. We will be back when we next visit Oxford. Reasonably priced. I had the pork tomahawk and my girlfriend had the brie and mushroom Wellington. We both thoroughly enjoyed the food and could only manage a desert between us. Do not hesitate to visit.

Called in here for a light lunch to break up a long journey. Lovely welcome and really nice food. Good beer selection too.

We were leaving the area on Saturday and had passed this place earlier on our way into Thame so decided to visit on our way home - they managed to squeeze us in a very busy on a Saturday night. Very nice atmosphere in both the bar and restaurant, had 4 good meals (3 were burgers Steak / Blue Cheese) as we were short on time. Service excellent and food nice and tasty and good value for £17 each. Happy to return again when in the area.

We stayed here for two nights as we were attending an event at Le Manoir which is nearby. We had dinner for the two evenings and two breakfasts. The food was excellent, all the usual pub stuff available but also daily specials and unusual gastro pub dishes. The chef is excellent, everything we had was cooked to perfection. Our room was lovely, couldn’t fault it and the staff were welcoming, friendly and efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, couldn’t fault it at all. Highly recommend and we will definitely return.

Lovely warm welcome. Service was excellent. Food, prawn cocktails were very generous, as were the mussels. The mushroom wellington just did not work, bland with no substance. The roast beef was over cooked (it stated on the menu it would be rare), roast potatoes were not crispy, they were inedible, though the cauliflower cheese was good. We would return, but will be careful of our choices.

After my visit with my family today for my nans 80th birthday I am absolutely blown away with the service from the second we arrived. The food was lovely and what you would expect for a perfect Sunday pub lunch but the service from the manager and every member of the team was exceptional, they all went above and beyond for us and you are all a credit to the company. Being a restaurant manager myself I haven't experienced anything like this in a long time. You made this day very special for my nan and I'm very grateful, will definitely be returning. Thank you

Excellent meal for wife’s birthday. Attentive friendly staff with excellent well cooked food. The Pie and Shepherds pie were really full of tender meat and were piping hot. Scallop starters and Calamari starters were also well cooked and the meal was finished with light STP and Crumble. The restaurant was full on a Wednesday evening which says a lot about the good reputation the F&G clear;y has. Fully recommend a visit but probably good idea to book.

The food was great with large portions and a yummy Sunday lunch at not a bad price. The only thing was the sparkly lights on the ceiling and loud drum and bass music. Felt like Sunday lunch in a club. It was absolutely packed - too full and so people were shouting at each other over the music. The service was quick. Could be so great with an improved atmosphere.

Went for Sunday lunch yesterday and what a treat it was. Busy restaurant but really attentive staff, drinks delivered quickly .. the Hendricks g & t with cucumber and juniper was perfect. Wide choice of roasts plus some specials on the table boards. Two of the party were Gluten Free and the choice s for us were fabulous.. so nice to get a gf Yorkshire pudding 😍. The gf sticky toffee pudding was terrific too. We’ll definitely come back this again.

Called for a last minute booking. Very pleasant lady answered and fitted us in . Met with a welcoming smile & shown to table . Young girl served us who was excellent, Maria ( I think) friendly pleasant & knowledgeable. We had Sunday roast which was superb . On finishing the meal the owner came along and had a chat . We will most certainly return as everything was superb.
