Staff bended backwards to make us feel welcomed. There's a small sitting area upstairs where they serve cooked breakfast. Food was nice, drinks were super nice.

Lovely home made panini with brie, peppers and tomato chutney. Came with a little bowl of what tasted like home meade coleslaw and some salad leaves. Son had sandwich with tuna and red onion and also came with coleslaw. Really good value and very tasty. Would def return next time we are in Thame. Very pleased to have found this little gem of an eaterie!

Nice place, friendly staff but poor quality sausage in breakfast bap. Also, stodgy bap with over-cooked egg, crispy bacon (nice!) and 2 sausages (Walls frozen or equivalent?) all squeezed onto a plate the size of a saucer! I should've asked for it to be put on a bigger plate I guess. Looks like a nice bakery though.

The times I've walked past this place, I've even felt tempted to go to the "gluten is poison" pretentious place across the road but lucky I resisted. This morning I went and had breakfast at The Cornfield Bakery .I had the veggie breakfast an a builders tea. The breakfast was all high quality items, freshly cooked and plenty of it. Bizarre as it sounds it was how the tea is served to you which moved the experience from noteworthy to Elite. Just classy, quirky and memorable. Seriously, I wonder why I waited so long to go to The Cornfield, I won't wait so long now on.

Came in for bread but ended up having brunch here upstairs. Lovely local run business and the bread and cakes were so fresh and tasty. We had scrambled eggs on sourdough with bacon and the bacon was the tastiest smoked bacon I’ve ever had. The yum yum was so fluffy and not greasy! Loved it

I frequently visit when in the south from Durham. Always perfectly cooked toast from their own high quality breads. Plenty butter and jam. The friendly helpful service is appreciated and service usually quite quick even at busy times. I was last there 2 weeks ago and just as good as ever. Family friendly environment too.

Upstairs to a bakery in The Buttermarket in Thame this is a great discovery. All day breakfasts, hot pastries and panini's with great coffee or hot chocolates with a choice of flavours. Great service, efficient and with a smile. Perfect.

We called in on two occasions to have breakfast for the start of the day, I had the Full English Breakfast and my wife had Poached eggs on toast with vine tomatoes. The ingredients were just delicious, perfectly cooked eggs and the sour dough toast was so tasty, The service was friendly and it was one of the nicest breakfasts we have had in a long time. I would recommend you to anybody visiting Thame.

We bought Cornfield's bread rolls on Saturday and I can honestly say they tasted like break tasted years ago. Fabulous. I can't stand modern heavily salted and sugared bread as that is all you can taste. Cornfield's bread tasted sublime.

I already knew Cornfield Bakery's bread because we buy it every Saturday at Headington Market - making sure to be there early before it sells out. But this morning, out for a walk in the sun and thinking it would be nice to find somewhere for a coffee, I came across their café in Wheatley. What a nice place - good coffee, pleasant surroundings with local produce on sale (I bought some locally-produced rapeseed oil) and all the cakes etc that we know from Cornfield Bakery.

Open at 7am every day, fabulous bread across every range, all baked on the premises. Went in with my little girls and spoke to the lovely lady at length. In the background I could hear a girl singing her heart out to the radio. She was clearly happy, and coming in here will make you too. A taste of the best of British as it used to be. Will be in for coffee next time and will eat in. Cant wait!

Turned away from our first choice eatery, we struck so lucky with this hidden gem of a bakery restaurant. A full English breakfast which was exactly that - full! Sausage, bacon - both well done - beans, tomato, mushrooms, eggs, loads of toast. Wow, there's a lot of restaurants that could learn a lot from this little place. Wonderful. The best breakfast in 2 weeks in the UK, by far!

I confess, I am a frequent visitor to the bakery. The bread is great, lovely staff, but the bacon baps are fantastic. Myself and a friend pop in for a treat and a chat. Well priced great service and we never feel rushed. Lovely sitting up in the top room (mind your head) and watching as the world goes by whilst having a chat.

Called in to the Cornfield Bakery for a cooked breakfast and hot drink after a long drive but deeply disappointed first the hot chocolate we ordered were far from hot and only lukewarm then when the breakfast arrived the baked beans and mushrooms were cold the fried egg looked far from appealing and the toast seemed to have been thrown on top of the the breakfast. It would have been far better to have served this on a separate plate so it didn't go all soggy the only thing that I can say is that the bacon was very enjoyable and tasty.Sorry but won't be returning to this cafe again as very disappointing as we were so looking forward to a lovely HOT breakfast and HOT drink.

I visited this little bakery/cafe yesterday with my husband and 2 family members. It was a warm and welcoming shop and little cafe. The menu was varied and a good choice of cakes as well from the shop counter. The husband had a homemade breakfast bap which he said was delicious and I had a double cheese/onion bap with side salad. My sister in law had a cream tea and apparently it tasted as good as it looked. The service was very friendly and attentive and all in all it was a lovely cafe.

My family and I moved into the area about 9 months ago, which is when we started using the bakery. The bakery sells a wide range of breads, rolls, cakes, sandwiches and drinks and also hot food including pies, pasties, jacket potatoes, panini's and soups. Take away service plus seating downstairs and upstairs to drink/eat in.The staff are extremely friendly and they make you feel very welcome. The Bakery is always clean and tidy. NOTHING is too much trouble and to make the whole experience even better the prices are very reasonable too. My family and I visit regularly and will continue to do so. What more could you ask for?

I've been a regular visitor to The Cornfield Bakery for many years - 2 to 3 times per week. Jane and her team are always there with a warm welcome for every customers. There is a good choice of hot and cold food: baked potatoes, sandwiches (all made with bakery bread also for sale from the bakery part of the cafe), homemade soups and pastries, all at very reasonable prices. So, if you're looking for a tasty meal in a relaxing atmosphere served with a smile, look no further!

If you are looking for a friendly charming pleasant bakery with good food, this is definitely not the place to go. Asked if we just grabbed a table, or wait to be seated, I was looked and spoken to like I was asking the most ridiculous stupid question the waitress had ever heard. They had sold out out of what I wanted so waitress suggested I have a sandwich. I said I was after a hot meal, as I didn't want a sandwich, and was then effectively told to just have a sandwich. After waiting 30 mins for the sandwiches, we went to ask how much longer they were going to be and could we now get them to go as we had limited time on our parking and seriously, how long does it take to make a sandwich (everyone else was either already eating or had finished the meals). The waitress then returned to ask if I want my salad garnish in a separate box, as this would be to difficult to put in the same box as my cheese salad sandwich. When actually i began to eat my sandwich, the bread was so thin it could not hold the filling of the sandwich. Considering this is supposed to be a Master bakery I expected bread made on site to be used. Not what could only have been a supermarket brought loaf. The cheese had obviously been left open to the air for a day or two as it had turned almost powdery. Considering the prices, the website, and the image of the place, I was sorely disappointed with the reality of my experience. Very poor show.

We were in Thame for the first time with friends and late for lunch and not wanting to walk far in the rain found this small café/bakery.Offered seating upstairs but took the option of the small seating area downstairs as one of us had a knee problem.Good choice of beverages including various teas and hot chocolate..,,breakfast available too Sandwich choice was fairly extensive, I chose beef and horseradish, very generous portion of beef in horseradish mayonnaise, served with an excellent fresh salad, with coleslaw and potato salad, all served with a smile. Really good range of breads , cakes and pastries on sale too

Really nice warm individual atmosphere. Food was great and just what we needed before a long day the following. We overnight-ed in room 3 which had everything needed. I Managed to run an international meeting at 0600 so wifi was strong. Breakfast next day was really good and ready when we asked for it. Highly recommend The Fat Fox if you want to dodge the corporate bs and feel like a name not a number.

Back at last shame it was Shaun and Gemma’s night off. Very quiet Wednesday but we were late arrivals. Made welcome, choice of seating, nice to see pichets of wine on the drinks menu. Had tariiflette which was spot on and a good price as well. Made us feel guilty we don’t go here more often! Oh and they accept cash!

We decided on Sunday morning to try the Red Lion for lunch, and booked a table for 1330. We arrived and were met by efficient staff who were expecting us and offered us a choice of table. Drinks were ordered from a knowledgeable waiter and arrived quickly, mine being a very well-kept pint from tge local Amwell Springs brewery. We both chose beef from an extremely well thought-out menu which again arrived after only a short wait. The meat was beautifully cooked and presented on a large plate with very well cooked greens, carrots and a freshly-made Yorkshire puddings. Sides of cauliflower cheese and roast potatoes were excellent, probably the best roasties I've had, and the horseradish was similarly delicious. We both cleared our plates and the side dishes. Utterly gorgeous, go and see for yourself.
