The best restaurants in Wolvercote Oxford South East

Ann's Munchies did the food for us for a funeral in January 2025. I wish I'd taken photos! Everything home made. Selection of sandwiches, (all labelled for allergens), sausage rolls, honey glazed sausages on sticks, mini spring rolls. This was followed by a fab selection of cakes/brownies/profiteroles with fresh cream. Teas and Coffees served. She has been doing this type of food for events (I think she said) for 17 years so knows exactly what is required. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ann's Munchies to others and I would happily book her again for any event in the future.

When I arrived at this Services for a comfort break and a quick takeaway coffee, my heart sank when I saw the main coffee provider. However, I noticed there was a Greggs which was selling coffee. I thought I’d give it a try, never having bought their coffee before. I must admit that I didn’t have high expectations. Wasn’t quite sure which to choose, but went for an Americano with added milk. My goodness: what super coffee! Just how I like it. Thank you Greggs.

On Thursday 12th December 2024 the Plough hosted a Christmas party for approximately 20 people. Organised by my father-in-law, Peter Brooks, all guests had chosen their 3-courses in advance. The staff were very attentive and the food, Soup, Mackerel Pate, Kofta Kebab, Roast Turkey, Pork Belly and Steak Pie with all the trimmings were flavoursome and plentiful. Desserts equally so! A big thank you to all the staff for providing a fantastic experience. Don't forget to log your car's registration number if you park in the Plough's private car park.

A wonderful hotel in all ways. Staff : brilliant, helpful and friendly. Location: just off the ring road so non of the city centre nonsense, the No6 bus passes every 20 mins (taxi to St Giles is about £12, parking in city can be as much as £7 an hour!) and parking at hotel is relatively cheap. Rooms : clean and spacious with a lovely large shower ( no bath in my room but I’m sure there’s an option if required). Bar : friendly, clean and not too expensive. Local pubs in Wolvercote ( Trout and White Hart) both great venues. Surprised to have to pay £4 for a coffee at reception area, after paying £150 for the room. Highly recommend but don’t expect views of Spires and Gowns (they are in city centre). Xx

Rude guy, he does not know who to deal with children considering he works by a park full of them. Will never buy in this place again

Tastless Hot Chocolate + Very Expensive.

Food and service were excellent. The restaurant is comfortable and nicely decorated. My only criticism is the acoustics in the extension are a bit difficult and make chatting hard because you can't hear well for the noise. But it's a great place and that won't stop me going again.

Great food, should have ordered mine as recommended which would have bettered the experience, Marzenna (waitress) is absolutely amazing.

El Wolvercote en Oxford se está convirtiendo rápidamente en un lugar de visita obligada, y no pasará mucho tiempo antes de que eclipse a los viejos Jacobs. Desde el momento en que entras, el servicio es inmediato. Easy to access as there's plenty of parking. Staff always try their best and food is great.

Como tantos otros han experimentado, cosas faltaban en mi orden. Imposible de resolver porque no contestan el teléfono. Desearía haber revisado primero al asesor de viajes y no haberlo ordenado desde aquí.
