Very quaint Public House owned by Green King well out the way of Oxford Hustle and Bustle not far from the Canel and Walks etc good outdoor facilities for Summer time and mostly covered serves real ales and the usual draught beers 🍻 food excellent well worth a visit especially if you stop at the Leonardo Royal Hotel it's a 10min walk 🚶‍♀️.

Fantastic food and staff . Food was very good and worth the wait they were busy and we were told how long we could wait for the food they offered us bread and it did not seem very long we hope to go back soon

Thank you to all the staff for a wonderful lunch for my family. They served our table of 10 people very professionally and accommodated a Birthday celebration, with no trouble at all. This is our favourite place for family get togethers. Reasonable price, as well taking in food provided for the cost.It's also a lovely setting and seating outside. Well worth a visit.

Better priced than the Victoria Arms, but both equally idyllic on a summer's evening.

Lovely pub, great food and service. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The place was clean. There were 8 in our party, we all ate something different, there was a very wide choice of food (including vegetarian) and everyone enjoyed it

My daughter and I went to The Plough for lunch yesterday. We arrived with my 6 month old puppy and were immediately greeted enthusiastically by the landlord. We opted to sit outside under the covered area. The front entrance is adorned with huge tubs of beautiful flowers which sets the tone. The outdoor seating is comfortable and practical and the atmosphere is really lovely. We ordered a lamb kofta and the veggie option of the same dish which was halloumi. Both came with a flatbread, sweet chilli sauce, hummus and a lettuce, tomato and cucumber salad and were absolutely delicious. So often, when the salad is not the main part of the dish, it can be wilted and tired looking, this was neither. One of the best meals out I’ve had in a very long time and for only £13.95!! The service came with a smile. I can’t rate our meal highly enough. We will most definitely be returning. Thanks for a delightful lunch 😊❤️

Appalling service this afternoon, was ignored on arrival, shouted at when I enquired as to whether I could sit on an empty table rather than block up the entrance waiting, then ignored further. Left without being served. Will not come back or recommend, suggest some staff receive customer service training.

We had a family meal at the Plough. 24 adults and four children. We had our own dedicated area of the pub. The buffet lunch was brilliant, lots of choice, hot and cold dishes, excellent sweets and coffee and tea included. All the staff worked hard, were pleasent and accommodating, to all our requests. Well done The Plough. I would thoroughly recommend.

Always a friendly welcome and a good mixed menu with regularly updated "specials ". Cosy atmosphere inside and on sunny days nice garden with swings etc fir kids.

Nice pub with a decent garden and play area. When I went they were busy so there was over an hour's wait for food which was quite disappointing but the drinks were decent with a good selection of beers

Service was great, lovely atmosphere, nice place to stop after a stroll, but food was not great. Burgers were under cooked and soggy, chips were unseasoned.

Terrible Sunday lunch experience, such slow service and very unhelpful staff. So disappointing #neveragain

We just had chips and cider because we were waiting for a grocery delivery for our narrowboat home moored nearby, but the chips were fine. Sat on the patio on a very pleasant night.

Not my first time of eating here. It is my favourite pub to eat at locally. Delicious home cooked food, they cater for dietary requirements, the atmosphere is perfect and the staff are friendly, welcoming and extremely accommodating. Dogs are made to feel just as welcome as humans ( we took our two with us). We went on Easter Sunday to celebrate my mums 80th birthday.

What a stunning place! Friendly, cheerful service, great, well kept beers, lovely atmosphere and absolutely wonderful food. Clearly home cooked (properly home cooked - not some kind of packet labelling!), great sized portions and good options for veggies and meat-eaters alike. I will be back next time I'm in Oxford, for sure!

Superb family meal, with a warm welcome from all staff but especially our young waitress. Halloumi fries; garden burger and roulade for me, all delicious and good value for money.

A large group of us enjoyed an excellent Christmas meal. Great food, beer and service.

This is a great pub with brilliant food and amazing and attentive staff. We were a group of 12 (including a baby) staying in a hotel nearby and they got us in for dinner last minute on two nights. On the second night my aunt became unwell and the staff did everything they could to help and make her comfortable, even going the extra mile of driving her back to our hotel. Cannot thank them or recommend them enough.

The Plough was much enjoyed by a group of melodeon players this weekend who were holding a 2-day musical workshop in the village. On behalf of these musicians, I want to thank the staff for keeping us very well 'fed and watered'. Good food, well kept beer and a relaxed vibe - what more could we ask for!

What an excellent pub, good food, goos drinks and the ability to feed and water ~40 of my chums whilst we attended an instructional event nearby.

Nice enough pub on the edge of Wolvercote close to the canal. I spent a couple of Sunday afternoons there. The atmosphere always seemed friendly and the beer/drinks were pretty 👍

absolute rude staff just come in and within 2 minutes we had to leave because of how rude the staff were.

We went on a Saturday lunch time. Food was good and not too expensive. The pub did feel a bit run-down, but maybe I'm being unfair about this? Staff were mostly friendly and helpful. It is very dog-friendly. The location is great: lots of green space. The outside seating area was fantastic on a hot day. There is more parking than you'd think.

We came here for the evening and I had the nachos with cheesy chips. On waiting for our food we noticed 2 rata roaming around where we were sitting whilst we were eating. The nachos were not the normal nachos they were deep dried wraps and the pulled pork wasn't great.

It’s the best!!! If you love community spirit, canals, railways, meadows, great views, drinking beer, spaces for kids and dogs to play while you drink beer*, then it doesn’t get better. The staff are so lovely and very accommodating. They always take the time to have a friendly chat and make you feel welcome (which for a dog is very important). Great…. Just great. *if these things aren’t of interest to you then home could be a nice alternative

book a table in their "library" room and take your time to have a walk by the canal before or after having a pint!

Another great evening at The Plough. Thanks to Tim and the team we had a lovely evening with our friends and 2 dogs. The food was top notch (as always!) with great portions and it’s so lovely to be able to take your dogs. The Plough is highly recommended 👍

Food was horrible, looking at other reviews it seems the kitchen must have been shut and they got us something from another 1 * pub.. Food thrown on plate, chips cooked in old oil and did not look like other people's pictures of food.. Onion rings were soggy and greasy.. Burger was okish but just burger and cheese.. Home cooked ham and egg was packet ham.. 1 star food but so different to other images people shared I had to double check it was the right place

This is a lovely pub serving an amazing, diverse, local community. The setting by the canal is beautiful and it's a great place for families or friends of any age.

I had my birthday celebrations here yesterday and it was fantastic. There were loads of events and community activities happening in and around the pub at the same time and the staff were really accommodating - going above and beyond to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves!

Such a lovely local pub, the staff could not be more accommodating. They hosted two of our parties before and we attended other parties/events there too. Sometimes it can get busy, but that is to be expected when you have multiple parties, big events/functions going on at the same time. Staff go out of their way to accommodate people and the food is very nice too. We love it there. The Plough is very family friendly, a local gem.

Amazing pub, family&kids friendly, great staff. They accommodated 4-5 parties at the same time with success when we were there for a school party! Highly recommended

Always a pleasure to come here. It is at the heart of the community, and is welcoming and friendly. Good value meals as well.

Pub is more like a creche and toddler group location. Screaming toddlers and loud parents who think it's acceptable that other patrons should happily tolerate they're brats. Indifferent unsmiling staff who keep you waiting to be served without a nod or reference to the long wait for service.......avoid this pub unless you like noisy kids and indifferent staff.

The toilet was smelling terrible bad. Some of the staff were really nice but some others all the opposite. The garden is really good as for the area, for a sunny day, but the food is average or less.

Awesome local pub in Oxford - exactly what two travel weary Aussies were looking for. Food brilliant, service brilliant and we love that dogs are welcome !!

An absolutely unbelievable place in many respects. Situated just by the river, this totally wheelchair accessible pub and restaurant has a warm and welcoming landlord and staff, wonderful views, various cute and typically English places to sit and superb food. What else could one ask for? Yet there is more! The pub also boasts several outdoor seating areas both on the pub veranda and on the grass opposite. If you should so wish, you could start or end your day with a riverside walk though not everything locally is accessible. The pub itself though has one wheelchair parking space, a more than adequate disabled loo and accessible doors. Please see the wheelchair section for more details on access however. For those who are neurodivergant, there are several spaces indoors where you can hide away and I have tried to show these in my photos. Food: they really try hard here with a variety of dishes and two chefs. The menu is varied but not posh. Thankfully the prices modestly reflect the standard of cuisine. The atmosphere here is great and it makes a lovely summer day trip.

Nice pub and a lovely out of the way location. Very popular and plenty of outdoor space to enjoy a drink and a meal. Had a great pint of ale. Such a shame the staff came across as miserable and uncommunicative. Maybe it had been a long day, it is a Bank Holiday Weekend after all. Don’t let this put you off and maybe the smiles will return soon.

Really lovely spot for a pub with plenty of outside seating. They had - and maybe still have - a roaring log fire in the winter. Butcombe Bitter was excellent. Still sad, more than 2 decades later, about the demise of Morrell's Brewery but for a GK pub this is about as good as it gets.
