We recently enjoyed dining at Armathwaite Hall Hotel and Spa. The hotel has a warm and inviting atmosphere and all the staff were welcoming. We dined in the conservatory overlooking the beautiful gardens and stunning views of the lake. Our meal was delicious and the presentation was fantastic. Our server, Dom was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Thank you for recommending the irresistible sticky toffee pudding. Overall, we enjoyed a memorable dining experience at an elegant setting. We look forward to returning.

Excellent Sunday lunch. As a walking party of four with a dog, we were made very welcome in the main restaurant. Staff were responsive, kind and even brought a bowl of water and a treat to our table for our dog. The food was excellent. Between us had the roast beef, roast turkey and gammon Sunday lunch. The roast potatoes were lovely and crispy and the vegetables plentiful, varied and cooked to perfection. The desserts were fabulous. One of the best tiramisu deserts I have had and my friends highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie trifle. Ignore the low star reviews. This is a lovely place for dinner/lunch.

To be clear, staff in the restaurant and the bar were friendly and attentive. Pub was nice. However, the food was appalling. Most options were off the venue - no soup, no salmon left. 2x starters really poor quality. One arrived cold, the other was essentially toast with some burnt vegetables at the side for £8. Tofu and noodles (main) took forever to arrive and were pretty much inedible - tofu was fried to cruton point, noodles weren't properly cooked - £18. It was the only veggie main course still available on the menu apart from £15 lettuce, sweetcorn and tomoato salad. Would have been better to have ordered a pot noodle at the shop across the road and boiled some water. I know there aren't many evening options in the evening in Glenridding which means this restaurant remains busy, but for the prices, must do better. Sorry to say, this was the worst meal I've paid for in England for a very long time. It's a pity because the pub and hotel are nice. The food is letting the place down.
