What an absolute gem of a place, with lovely ladies running it. High standard of food and service, so much is handmade there. They were so busy and we were happy to wait not in a rush. This appears to be an absolute must for the local community you could tell so many were regulars. We were on a walk leaving the car at a local garage and popped in but we will be back. Absolutely charming place.

I booked to eat here with my family for my birthday and to say I am disappointed is an understatement. It was a Sunday and the majority of our table ordered a Roast. When the roast came out and I can only describe it as something you would expect to see at an Asda cafe, in fact i think an Asda cafe would do a better job. There were cubes of chicken, 1 slice of beef about the size of a 50p, and well what they called roast potatoes, they were boiled hard in the minute and not at all roasted and equated to probably a quarter of an actual potato. A couple of spoons of frozen peas and carrots and a soggy yorkshire pudding, but not only was the food of very poor quality it was freezing cold- with a charge of 18.95 per dinner! As my family sat around the table saying its ok dont worry its your birthday and trying not to make a fuss I decided this was not a meal I was happy to accept so within 5 minutes of food being delivered I went to the bar. I politely asked to speak to the chef, 2 young girls came out apologised but there was no further roasts available to correct as they had run out, I said I was happy to pay for our drinks and the pizza one person ordered but the roasts were unacceptable. They said they would look at the bill and bring over an amended bill. As much as I was disappointed at the quality I was happy with the apology and reduction in bill. It was at that point a young waiter came to the table who said unfortunately we have rang our manager and she has said you have to pay for it given its been eaten (it wasnt eaten, we tried a couple of mouthfuls and discarded the rest, mind you a couple of mouthfuls could be explained as half the plate given how small it was) I offered to speak to the manager on the phone if it was a problem and this is when things turned rather sour, the manager was not at all helpful in fact she complained I had interrupted her evening with her children, she then accused me of shouting at her staff which was far from the truth and things were civil before she got involved. I explained she either needed a manager on site to deal with these problems or she needed to be here herself to which she continued to say I was ruining her evening with her children. I felt really sorry for the young staff on site, they clearly did not have the authority to amend the bill or any manager present to deal with such complaints, which i imagine if they carry on serving food like that there will be a lot. The staff were polite at all times but were really let down by the manager whose attitude was shocking. Needless to say we left and will not be returning which is a real shame, the pubs location is fantastic the staff on site were polite, but their food is appalling and the manager non existent and lacking any customer service.

My wife and I leave the kids at home and enjoy some us time in a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. The menu is wide, offering great seafood alongside other options. Always cooked beautifully and fresh to order. The seafood - especially - is always just right, with just the right coatings. Portion sizes are great and always served hot. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone, five stars and more.

I've been coming here a few times whilst moving here. And several times we have found short black hair and even a phlegm texture on the sausage! Then I spoke to the boss I noticed he wasn't washing his hands and the back was filthy. He was rude and accused my father (who is 87) of lying and told us to f**k off! Ruined our experience and would recommend people to eat someplace else!

We went as a family for breakfast at the Alverbank. The menu promises a lot but sadly we felt very underwhelmed by the time we had finished. I will start with a positive. My daughter had the Nutella pancakes which she really enjoyed. The portion size was good and was presented well. My wife had the Eggs Benedict. This is where things started to go wrong. She asked for her poached eggs to be runny. When this arrived, one of the eggs was solid and the other only slightly runny. The eggs also had a very strong vinegar taste, which suggests they did not allow the eggs to drain off effectively. I had the eggs Royale. The salmon was good, however my eggs also had a strong vinegar taste. At no point was a checkback made by the waitress after the food was delivered, therefore we were unable to raise an issue. Drinks - my wife thought the coffee was very good, however my orange juice was most definetely from a carton, and not a good quality one at that. I would have expected fresh orange juice based upon the experience they are trying to portray and the price they charged. Service - the team were friendly enough, but service was very slow. We were the only people in the restaurant area but breakfast took a long time to come out, and had to wait a fair amount of time after we had finished our meal to request the bill. Setting - the venue is in a lovely location and has fantastic views over the solent, but is let down by some basic things. Some of the decor is looking tired, and the window we were sat by was covered in cobwebs and dead flies. Overall a disappointing experience - when you pay over £50 for breakfast for 3 people, i would expect more than what was delivered.

Sometimes, after a long day at work, when my dogs are barking and I have zero power to cook, Dominos is there to fill my belly with delicious pizza:) always very quick, delivery drivers are lovely and the steaming hot pizza is oh so delicious. Never had a single problem with the Alverstoke branch, 100% recommend

Food was cold and chips were dry and very hard. Part of my order was also missing which I paid for. Never eating from here again
