I was taken to lunch here by my daughter. I can honestly say, I have rarely had such delicious food in a pub. It really was exceptional. We decided to go for several starters as we were finding it hard to make a choice - I had the parsnip soup which quite frankly was the best parsnip soup I have ever had. My daughter had the prawns which were fabulous and we then shared a couple of the dips - babaganoush and muhammara which neither of us had come across before but both just exploded with flavour. We also had the fish terrine. Without doubt a 10/10. Highly recommend.

Met up at The Yurt for lunch with friends. Absolutely perfect in every way. Polite, friendly staff, wonderful food and very reasonably priced. We were the last table to leave but were under no pressure to as we were aware of the closing time. I can’t wait for the next visit.

Sorry, how much? A BLT, a piece of cake and a can of drink for £17.50 and that’s with a 10% discount for takeaway. Can’t say I was surprised when the staff were saying it’s not very busy. I guess I should have looked at the menu before I ordered so only myself to blame.

Visited with family and friends on a weekend while travelling in Oxfordshire. Lovely place with a great atmosphere. A traditional village pub with local vibe and a nice crowd. Everything we tried on the menu (roast beef, chicken, "pigs in blankets", dessert cakes) was delicious, good service.

Popped in for lunch on Saturday 17th Feb pre walk along the canal. On entering the pub we were welcomed immediately by the bar staff and given the food menu. I ordered ham, eggs & chips & my other half ordered the scampi along with drinks. Food arrived and it was really good, honest grub & very tasty. Lovely friendly staff & good beer & food, what more could you ask for con a pub?

so disappointing - had looked forward to afternoon tea here since finding it during lockdown. Unfortunately it never properly re-opened but business "sold on". Now in Ducklington, some 15 miles away, and not particularly enchanting (much of the previous appeal was the location): very odd opening hours, extremely difficult to find, parking a nightmare and all for the rip off price of £30 per head (the food was good but no way worth that cost)

Spent 2 nights in Steeple Aston and had 2 great meals and a warm welcome at The Red Lion. Just 500m from our cottage we had fish and chips night one and a proper homemade steak and ale pie night 2. They have a new chef and he served tasty, well seasoned, home cooked food. We sat in the bar area with our little dog and it was so well tended as well as little touches like all tables had a lit taper candle made it feel inviting and special. Thank you to The Red Lion for their hospitality, we will be back.

Visited on a Friday early evening. No one to serve, waited a while and no one came. Hotel reception saw us but just ignored us, would have said something normally but thought we would just leave. New modern sports style bar but pointless if no service
