so disappointing - had looked forward to afternoon tea here since finding it during lockdown. Unfortunately it never properly re-opened but business "sold on". Now in Ducklington, some 15 miles away, and not particularly enchanting (much of the previous appeal was the location): very odd opening hours, extremely difficult to find, parking a nightmare and all for the rip off price of £30 per head (the food was good but no way worth that cost)

Delicious afternoon tea at Jane’s Enchanted Gardens yesterday. We were due to attend in 2020 for my birthday but due to lockdown restrictions for Covid-19 the Gardens were closed. Jane kindly held over all bookings to 2021. Excellent service - Prosecco on arrival, plenty of other alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks available, a fine selection of teas, coffee including decaf. Sandwiches super fresh, delicious cakes. They successfully catered for two vegetarians in our party, one dairy free and one meat eater. One friend couldn’t attend at short notice so they kindly packed her cream tea up for her plus a mini bottle of bubbly for us to take home later. Looking forward to seeing you all again in August for an evening meal.

Having visited this place for several years and never been disappointed went for the full afternoon tea at £20 per head. Very disappointed, greatly over priced. Have had a lot better for less money elsewhere. The sandwiches were disappointing, agree with the comment below. Enquired about taking away a small piece of cake, it was closing time and they wanted £4.50 a slice. Would not recommend the afternoon tea, stick to tea amd scones.

At £20 per head (prosecco extra if wanted) I felt this was over priced. Sandwiches were nice but at this price smoked salmon would be expected not tuna. The savouries on the top tier of the cake stand could have been left overs and the sausage rolls were the small frozen type sold in supermarkets. The cakes were terribly over sweet, a mini hard lemon cream topped cake, a mini something soaked in fragrant syrup, chocolate cup cake, red velvet cup cake all left a sweetness in the throat that would not shift. The scone jam and cream were very good. Would have preferred to be able to choose a slice of the excellent cakes instead. The tea was good initially but on top up very weak. Overall disappointing.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon. Ok it looks lovely but looks can be very deceiving! Had tea/coffee and scones it clearly states clotted cream it was definitely more like squirty cream! The coffee was watery and very weak my daughter had the coffee cake and it was stale and taste horrid. The toilets were disgusting just two porta cabins and the tap was not working so could not wash your hands. The place just felt very dirty! The staff just seem like they did not really know what they were doing . It’s a shame as this place could be amazing!

We paid for the Full Jeeves. This is £20 per person. Truthfully, I've had better for less. Janes cakes have always been superb, this year however they were not as good. The cakes were dry, as were the scones. As part of the Full Jeeves you receive 4 quarters (different fillings) of sandwiches. Two chocolate cup cakes, two strawberry butterfly cakes, and two mini cupcakes (one vanilla, one coffee), plus a savoury roll (sausage or cheese and onion for vegetarians), and a slice of quiche. This is topped with some slices of cheese, biscuits and grapes. In addition you get either a hot or cold drink. I can't honestly say that the savoury roll or quiche seemed home-made, they were very uniform and not particularly tasty. The cheese was average. There was no butter available for the biscuits or scones (though cream and jam were offered). It was disappointing. For £20 per person, I'd not recommend it. For 4 adults and two children, the total bill was £120. There was far too much cake, and what was there was not as good as we've had before. I suspect this will be our last visit. Shame, as it has always been a lovely afternoon out before.

Three generations aged from 4 to 74 years. Three birthdays to celebrate, one from each generation. Very warm welcome, high tea to make your eyes (and tummies) pop! We added bubbly - for the adults!! Lovely quirky setting and we were able to relax and enjoy a lovely afternoon. A walk down the lane gave an edge to our appetites and the walk through the woods and quarry back to the village helped the huge tea settle!! To be repeated!

... we tried to book and were very disappointed the high teas were all booked up. However we were lucky enough to get a cancellation spot and we were not disappointed. Fabulous food, our perfect kind of environment and right on the canal.. loved everything about it!!! Many people who were passing were turned away as it was fully booked, it would be lovely to see an area sectioned off for coffee and cake for people passing - however saying this, it would become my favourite place to 'walk past' and that could be dangerous 😂

Very pretty Could do with music for ambiance No table service. Expected to go and get more tea/coffee if required. Very poor for what you pay. Would expect waitresses to keep checking and bring if needed. This actually disappointed us so we left rather than sat chatting.

Somewhere in Oxfordshire there is this little tea garden. It's enchanting, unique and so, so lovely. We went this afternoon for our Pearl Wedding Anniversary. They are booked up for this season but would highly recommend a booking for next year.

Visited on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon with friends. We walked down the bumpy lane as instructed on the website and glad we did as we saw other people trying to struggle down in cars (not good for your suspension) Enchanted is definitely the right word to describe this wonderful place, it's a beautiful setting to enough tea and cake. We had high tea and everything was delicious and good value for money I felt. You do have to get back in the queue to order more drinks which is a bit annoying when you are enjoying a day with friends but a small price to pay for such a lovely setting. Its also worth noting that they don't accept card payments, I didn't realise that this was the case so was quite embarrassing when we came to pay. All ended well however. I will definitely be back

I was looking for somewhere to take my mum as a birthday present when I came across Jane's Enchanted Tea Gardens. The reviews looked good and it looked right up my mum's street. I wanted to take her somewhere a little different. We went along today, unsure of what to expect really. Take note, there's a really bumpy old road leading up to the tea gardens, so it may be worth parking up as you get to that part and walk down the bumpy road (however, we found the bumpy journey quite hilarious!). We walked down through the arches of flowers and checked ourselves in and we were very pleased with what we saw! We were lead to our table, looking over the water, watching the boats go by and listening to the silence of birds singing. Jane got mum a blanket to put over he shoulders too as it was a little windier today.. High tea for two. Catered well for vegetarian option. Lovely food and homemade cakes were delicious.. The waiters were all very friendly, as was Jane. We had a little walk around after and it was all just so beautiful. Chickens, ducks, peacocks and doves, all very tame. Mum's already booking in to go back several times over the next few months!

What a lovely little find......I didn't, my daughter did! She talked about it and then suggested we go one Sunday afternoon. We were very lucky in that we actually went the very last Sunday it was open. I would advise booking as when we went people were queuing out the venue and down the road a bit!! We were in no hurry so decided to wait. We were told by staff of the wait and they apologised. We were given the option to just by our cake or cream tea to take home. We waited it out as the day was lovely and they had an old fashion band playing. It was worth the wait. Tea, coffee and cakes were lovely. Nothing matched.....which was fabulous! The man selling cake at the counter was hilarious. He obviously had no idea of portion control.....YaY for us!! We had a wonderful couple of hours and i cant wait till they open again so we can go. We will book first though!

We stayed here for a pit stop overnight when visiting family in a nearby village and this place didn't disappoint. We received a very warm welcome from the landlord and landlady and check in was a breeze. They have a great selection of alcohol and it was really pleasing to see a village pub so busy. The building itself is stunning and much larger than I thought it would be with an extended restaurant and outdoor area with seating. The room had everything we needed for the night, including a bath and a shower and it overlooked the town square which was nice and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and we slept soundly. Our room was number 2. The breakfast menu has something for everyone with a selection of cooked and non cooked options and you can tell quality ingredients were used. It was a shame this was a flying visit as the the evening and Sunday lunch menu looked fantastic and we will be sure to try these on our next visit. Overall we felt very welcomed and the pub has a very homely feel to it, we will be sure to stay again next time we are passing.
