We had the most amazing meal, we requested fillet steak it was tasty, succulent and cooked to perfection with a wild mushroom and peppercorn sauce. Well done to all the team

Met with friends here, lovely in the spring sunshine. Food was delicious, very friendly and professional staff, would highly recommend.

I never buy a stake because I don't want to be disappointed. But this was one of the best stakes I've ever had .. really good

Sorry ROEBUCK but this wasn't your finest night ....Table of 11 ...so pre order required...our table was booked for 7.30pm ...our first meal arrived 1 hour later and to make things worse one meal was sent back as it was cold ...This is my opinion on the night ...it may be so much better another time ....but not for us iam afraid...Good luck for the future ROEBUCK..I can't see us coming back ...sorry..

Went back after a great meal 18mths ago, expected same but seemed like ownership had changed. Understaffed, veggie menu option not avalable, not told about specials, my meal of pork belly was awful. Raw parsnip, yorkshire pudding had not risen and was like a ball of plasticine, meat like an old leather boot, asked for apple sauce, but not available. Instead waitress offered mint sauce or horse radish. Asked for alternative music to horrible 1980s rock with AC/DC! told could not be changed. After main course we were completely ignored table not cleared. Left after half an hour to find a cafe. Never going back. AWFUL

Managed to book a table for 3 of us plus a dog an hour before on a Sunday which we thought was very lucky but the experience showed why. Arrived and no one behind the bar to greet for a good few minutes. When someone did appear told us to go around and then back to the bar area for dog-friendly seating. To begin with, service was quick with the drinks order taken quickly (no drinks menu available and only Becks Blue as non alcoholic beer) and then food was ordered when drinks were delivered (this probably helped). Had 3 roasts. Average to small portions but very nice food, especially the yorkshires although only 2 out of 3 had gravy in them. Plates were cleared and offered dessert menus but these didn't appear until another member of staff came to offer again. Then a 20+ minute wait to order these as all staff disappeared and a 20+ minute wait to get the desserts. Got them at least an hour after we had finished the mains. Thought it may be down to a big table arriving as it was set but they didn't appear the whole time we were there. We then paid (went and paid at the till instead of waiting ages again) and then when halfway across the car park were chased by a member of staff who had not served us or taken payment accusing us of doing a runner! We had a receipt so could confirm this but he was not apologetic and ruined the whole experience overall.

Lovely, cosy, welcoming village pub in North Oxfordshire. We went for lunch on a weekday and although the pub was very quiet, we felt very cosy next to the roaring open fire and staff were very attentive. Everyone enjoyed the food very much, though we felt the portions of vegetable sides were maybe a little small. Would definitely recommend.

Booked in and shown to our table.. So far, so good. 15 mins pass and no interaction from the waiting staff My wife had to get their attention..the poor kid looked terrified...once that was sorted everything from then on was top class. Food was without doubt out of this world..some of the best we have ever eaten defo 10 out of 10

Lovely pub with tasty wine but the roast was very disappointing and the waitress was rude. Would come back for drinks but would not rush back for food.

The Roebuck recently hosted a Celebration of Life for a family member. The food was exceptional and the service and atmosphere they create was warm and personal.

Nice roast but ran out of desserts

First time in the roebuck since change of ownership. We as family was looking forward to a roast here as it was somewhat of a regular occasion we went. Unfortunately it wasnt as great as we were expecting the kids meals were fine as the kids ate it all. Our roasts were less than satisfying. Portions were average but the meat wasnt edible as its was all belly fat and very chewy we both left this on the plate. Atmospere wasnt the greatest although wouldnt completely blame the pub as it was very quiet. As for the staff we only dealt with one lady who wasnt the most welcoming or cheerful. It was a bit of guess work regarding asking for the menus and ordering food. Disappointing unfortunately, deffinite room for improvement.

Not great. Right on the road, it was massively understaffed when we were there, other patrons were just not all that nice. Had a weird vibe. Food was decent but overpriced. We won’t be back

We dropped in on our way home from Stratford upon Avon for a meal. Service was very good and staff friendly. Food was ok but could easily be improved. I had Sausage and mash and it was fine but the mash could have been hotter and the gravy was a bit on the watery side, also 1 sausage was a slightly overcooked and a bit crunchy. Nice place but a few improvements could be done. Oh and fresh vegetables rather than frozen peas.

We came in for Sunday lunch. I had the beef, which was very tasty and cooked to perfection. The veg was nice and plentiful and the desserts were delicious.

We booked a table for dinner on a Friday evening. Not the greatest of welcomes but the food was lovely however the service from the lady with the blonde short hair was something to be desired. After finishing dinner I asked if we could stay seated in the restaurant. At that point she said that's wasnt a problem. 30 minutes later without asking we were handed our bill as if to say we needed to leave the table we had booked. I found this rather rude to say the least. The atmosphere was not the greatest but I suppose its a personal preference to what you look for in a pub dinner !!

The pub has recently changed ownership. The food is still as good. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Good atmosphere, nice friendly village pub.

We needed a short break and the Roebuck Inn was just in the right location! We just had a drink of water albeit it was quite expensive for a small bottle of water and browsed the ample menu, the barkeep was friendly and the interior in keeping with the age of the Inn

Went and stopped for a couple of pints after a dog walk. Quick and friendly service.

Absolutely top notch! Food was amazing and service was fantastic too. Had the set meal (2 courses for £16) and it was absolutely worth every bite. And it's dog friendly too. Well worth a visit if you're anywhere near Banbury.

We went in the first week with the new owners for a Sunday lunch. Lovely meal, great service, really friendly, the new owners came and had a chat. They were very helpful with my allergy of fresh fruit and gave me my desert with the chocolate they will be adding to the menu soon, rich and creamy, delicious. Prices were what you expect. It's much bigger inside than it looks outside, the only downside is the parking, a small car park.

Everything was amazing. Great food and friendly service. Vegetarian option was very tasty too. Steak was top notch. Will definitely return.

I'm updating my review at this pub has finally found itself with new owners. What a difference... It's actually open now during normal pub/ restaurant hours! Monday - Sunday and they serve food and drink at reasonable times. The owner seems really lovely 😊😊

Friendly village pub serving delicious food from varied menu. Three adults and two children all found food to their taste varying from a BLT to. Sweet potato and coconut curry. It was all delicious and served with a smile by a very accommodating gentleman. We managed to get into the car park but other were not so lucky unfortunately but I don't see what else can be found to improve parking.

Very clean, service was top class. Had scampi and chips, it was more chips with scampi, a few more would have been nice.

A reasonable, if small pub out on the Stratford Rd in Banbury. A good sized function room that can cater for 30+ people, although this is counteracted by the very small car park at the Pub. Friendly staff & good quality food, although the portion sizes could be a bit bigger.

Lovely burger best I've had around the local area recently.

Reopened after a 'recent' year long refurb, this is a really nice venue. Inside has been tasteful redecorated without losing it's character, with plenty of tables without feeling like you're squashed in. San Miguel on draught, always a bonus. The food was delicious, really we cooked and presented, and portion sizes are impressive, but do not stuff you out. I can highly recommend the Prawn & Chorizo Linguine, top notch! Well worth the 5 minute drive from Banbury 👍

Amazing! The staff could not be more attentive…nothing was too much trouble ( even the Bèrnaise sauce) and the food, especially the chateaubriand was cooked to perfection. We will definitely be back to visit again x

An absolute gem of a pub! We love coming here for a mid week dinner. They serve delicious food (the ultimate burger is a firm favourite) with equally delicious wine and friendly faces behind the bar - it’s easily the best place to come in and around Banbury.

Had vegetarian Wellington roast dinner. It was hot and freshly made. Gravy was just right amount. Banana split dessert was as good as I remember it all those years ago. Highly recommended

Weve just returned from a fantastic lunch, 2 of us together with 7 visitors from California. All of the dishes were hot and absolutely delicious, the pub itself is a lovely place to visit and Nicola and Shannon are fabulous hosts. Thank you both, we've been to The Roebuck many times with various friends and family and we've always had such a great experience!

Booked for Sunday lunch. Had the platter for 2 although it could easily feed 3! Absolutely delicious! Not usually a fan of anybody’s roast but mine, but this really was a great spread. Totally recommend and will be going again very soon!

5 of us had a sunday meal and we all left full and happy. The food was beautifully cooked, the celeriac puree was a real treat. Chirizo scotch egg starter i cant rate highly enough. 3 of us tried the Affogato dessert, never heard of it before and it was so simple yet gorgeous. Beautiful place both inside and out with very friendly staff. Just wish it wasnt 1.5 hours drive away...but we plan to go again

May I say wonderful staff very welcoming great custmer service food was alright the only thing was The burger I had whas a little bit under coocked but it was still edible would recommend will be coming back.

We found the bar staff friendly and helpful, there was plenty of seating at midday when we arrived. The choice of drinks was nice. The food excellent. The toilets clean and tidy.
