Bure Farm in Cherwell

Travelled up from hastings for a few days to see family, we came for dinner and were very impressed with food drink and service.

Venue was nice and clean. Staff were very friendly. We ordered drinks specifically hot chocolates and a flat white. The flat white was basically a white coffee no foam on top at all! Then the hot chocolates were basically milk with a touch of chocolate and some sprinkles. Very poor quality!

Nice but for a chain pub hugely over priced. pint of local larger and an apple juice £10

It's a big place so doesn't feel noisy or crowded. The menu is simple although with rather restricted veggie options. The food was well cooked and portions ok. The service was fine. Prices seem a bit high for what you get but not ridiculous.

Really helpful with our booking. Went out of the way to help us. From booking through to the meal they couldn't have gone much further. Food was good (apart from 1 of the puddings ) but was not a problem as there was so many of us Thank you If we lived closer, we'd be back

My husband and I went to the Santa Paws event this morning and it was amazing!! The staff were very friendly and welcoming especially our server Georgia S. Wilma our dog really enjoyed her puppachino and Christmas treats. Our breakfast and coffee was delicious.

I visit this pub fairly frequently. It is a busy pub and occasionally it’s a struggle to find a table as they are all booked. The outside area is nice in the summer. The service is good but oh my goodness the mojito I tried was really not good. It was served in some sort of short jar glass minus a straw. There was hardly any mint, too much lime and not enough ice. I actually didn’t finish it. If you sell cocktails please make them properly, they aren’t cheap.

Had a great time at Santa's breakfast. The children absolutely loved it. Lee and the team did an amazing job so hats off to them and thank you so much.

Absolutely superb! The manager and her team are amazing and go above and beyond. I go so often I am well known for my allergens and they keep me super safe!

I am a regular customer here and have recently attended for a christmas party. The staff were down two chefs but you couldn't tell. Food came out quickly and was delicious. Service was friendly and welcoming. Couldn't fault a thing!

Greeted with a smile by Sandy as usual, who served us, excellent and quick service. Was here for the breakfast with santa and was really good!

Absolutely shocking service by Management that was serving our table- or that they said they are managers as it’s hard to believe they are as the customer service was shocking with rolling eyes and a sassy attitude threatening us to be kicked out with pointing fingers at my members if the family because they were busy and understaffed- this was the worst experience I had ever by unprofessional staff, unqualified to do their job assistant manager that is unable to work under pressure and taking it out on their guests- appalling service that ruined my mothers in law birthday dinner and overall atmosphere to ever return to the Bure Farm in Bicester. Assistant manager complaining about her own staff to us while we were waiting to pay 20min with her not actually acknowledging us there only to badmouth her staff that what it seemed like a 16year old boy that didn’t know what alcoholic drink it was to serve to someone’s table- that should not be allowed. I did not appreciate the servant (that later on disguised herself as the Manager- absolute lie for sure) raising her voice to me and creating a scene by the bar when I only wanted to give my food back as it was not what I ordered as she refused to take it. There is so much more to this story so I request customer service representative or a regional manager to reach out to me to acknowledge this disguisting behaviour The management need a reality check as the service they provide repels guests that are willing to pay a ridiculous prices as a £20 per plate! Yet no service was provided to expect guest to pay such prices- its appalling to say the least CONTACT back requested, I will not stop on this review, I will manage to get to the top if I must and I will make this an example to the staff that this behaviour is not acceptable and they need to take a basic course of hospitality training as they shown none of this at our visit. Body language was offensive and unacceptable I will not stand for any of this. You are losing guests because of those two individuals- save your business.

Ate off the Festive Menu - food was good. Excellent service from Katie and Mandy with food and drinks. Friendly and efficient staff - nothing too much trouble.

We were really looking forward to our works Xmas meal but unfortunately we felt very let down. The service was absolutely shocking. After waiting a long time we reminded staff member that we were still waiting to be told "so is everyone else". After eating our main meal we waiting hour and ten minutes for plates to be cleared and had to again ask for our puddings. We arrived at 7.30 and did not get our puddings until 10.50 after complaining. The xmas roast was lovely so complements to the chef however service wad diabolical and we will look elsewhere next year for our Christmas do

The food was really nice, I can recommend the mixed grill and steak pie, big shout out to Jay who did a fantastic job even though it was really busy.

Have cooled down now, was fuming 😡 Came for a Christmas meal to treat some friends, 4 of us, ordered meals at 1pm, FINALLY got them at 2.40pm!!!!! 😲😯 By which time we were almost the only people in the restaurant, so no happy vibe, ambience, or Christmassy atmosphere, ate almost in silence as so disappointed and quite appalled. The waitress, Mandy, saved the experience, she was lovely, professional & couldn't apologise enough, so no complaints with her service, and gave us a complimentary coffee. I would have thought the chef would have had the common courtesy to come and personally apologise, infact nobody came, only Mandy, to even offer a free of charge dessert as a consolation, but no. So not very impressed. I do hope this was just an isolated incident, as the restaurant is a beautiful place to dine and meet family and friends.

The Christmas festive meal commenced today so we thought we should try it The table was well decorated with Christmas fare. Sadly we had to wait 50 minutes before the food was placed on our table. We were not happy The roast carrot, roasted parsnip were over cooked. The turkey was soft and watery, with no flavour, very small portion The 6 hard green sprouts were difficult to eat The sausage had a small piece of bacon over poorly prepared. The Yorkshire pudding roast potatoes were great as was the gravy.

We had a very pleasant meal, we were not rushed. There was a small issue with one starter, it was replaced straight away, without question. The pub was very busy, but our waitress was very attentive, the service was efficient dispite the volume of people. We felt atmosphere and service has improved greatly from previous visits.

Sandy served us and was very helpful when we ordered helping us with a 30% off voucher. We had Sunday roasts which were very delicious and there was a variety of delicious desserts. We would definitely come again.

Taylor was very welcoming and chatty making our dinner much more enjoyable! What a lovely lady, thank you!

Signature burger was good. My partner ordered a rib eye steak, and it was cooked perfectly medium rare, but it was very tough and difficult to chew. She sent it back and they cooked her another one. Second time - again an absolute perfect medium rare - but nearly inedible. It was very tough and difficult to chew (sinew/connective tissue ?). She left half of it on the plate. Definitely not the melt-in-the-mouth experience promised on the menu. No fault of the chef, but likely just cheap meat. Will not be giving them another chance.

The staff were lovely and friendly but the quality of the food wasn't great. The mixed grill managed to have over and undercooked meat at the same time. The decor was nice but the place was huge and between 530 and 830 we saw about 6 other people and early November, how many of those do you think wanted the Christmas music on?

I came in with the kids last week and Sandy behind the bar who served us was so welcoming and accommodating we really enjoyed our time and will definitely be back again soon

We were looked after by Sandy and she really pushed the boat out to give us an amazing evening. She prepared the table ready for our booking and took our drink and food orders. She also checked that everything was OK when the food was delivered. We will be back.

Late booking online to turn up and be shown to our table straightaway, fast efficient friendly service. Bar service despite being busy was great, apologies for the wait. Quick order (food) even though we were told they may be a wait, food was great as normal

I had a wonderful time at The Bure Farm on Sunday afternoon with my partner and my son. We all enjoyed our time at the restaurant. 10/10 for the whole time we were there. Our server Mandy made us feel welcomed and checked in whilst we were eating our delicious food . She gave us a relaxed feel on our Sunday afternoon. Looking forward to returning for our Christmas festive meal in December.

Took the mother in law here for her birthday today, we all had a mixture of meals and puddings. All of which were lovely and very well presented. Our waitress Holly was very helpful in recommending dishes for us and the rest of the staff were also lovely. Will definitely visit again.

Come today for the first time for a celebration, had the mixed grill which was lovely. Our waitress Holly was always happy and helpful. The pub is very nice, plenty of parking and a nice atmosphere. I'm not local but will come again when visiting the area.

Brought my Mum here for her birthday, our waitress Holly brought out her pudding complete with candles which was a lovely touch, it's always easy parking and good sized portions. Rest of the staff are friendly and chatty, I enjoy coming here. Keep up the good work!

Came tonight with my husband and children. Looked rather busy, nevertheless, service nor food quality was affected. Staff were very friendly; Wasnt sure what too expected at first as this was our first time, however it definitely will not be our last. I had fish and chips for mains, ate it in a flash, so no pictures of that… However for dessert. Presentation was perfect, extremely satisfying, almost made me feel bad for eating it. Taste was also spot on, Would highly recommend.

First time here, had a voucher through the door, so thought we would give it a try. Came away feeling disappointed 😞. The staff were pleasant, but there simply weren't enough of them, we had to wait a very long time for everything, and my husband asked twice for a pint of Pepsi to go with his main course, it never arrived, in the end we gave up. Would we go again? Probably not👎

Very disappointed with the service or lack of service this evening. We visit the Bure Farm fairly regularly and usually have no complaints. The food was as usual, lovely. Not once were we table checked to ask how our food was. We were not asked if we wanted more drinks, we had to attract the attention of the waiting staff. Drinks ordered, we waited a good 20 minutes for them to be brought to the table, despite them sitting on a tray on the bar. We asked for our bill, which came very promptly but then no one came to take our payment. There appeared to be only 3 front of house staff in the pub/restaurant area. The restaurant and bar were what I would say very busy for a mid week and to have just 3 staff was an error. The lack of service has really let the place down, unfortunately, as the food itself was very nice.

Excellent service received from Mandy. Food was excellent, would recommend the Sunday roast but all the food looked very appetising. The atmosphere was pleasant and the spacingof tge tables did give a degree of privacy and you could yalk without shouting. Will definitely visit again.

Nice food but very slow service

Great place but just lacking on a few things. Drinks were delightful and tasty. Food service was a bit slow. Suggest ordering on the app/Web as it may be quicker.

One of the best roasts I've ever had, all the trimmings and the vegetarian tart was amazing! Service was great and the pub has a really cosy atmosphere, we'll definitely be back :)

Had to wait at the door for a member of staff to attend the booking in desk. Shown to our table, that had a mish mash of different seats, given our menus and asked if we would like to order drinks. A short while later a waitress asked if we were ready to order to which I replied yes and one other of our part of five asked what the soup of the day was. The waitress said she didn’t know but could find out. On her return she told us the soup was tomato then proceeded to take our orders. I asked for soup, fish bites meal to which she said unfortunately the breaded chicken and fish were not available do to having no bread crumbs or batter???. We all revised our choices with four having soup. When the soup arrived the bowls were very hot but the soup was tepid slightly spoiling the experience. After a lengthy wait our table was cleared an we waited our main course which we all enjoyed. Then another lengthy wait for our sweet course which was enjoyable despite the chocolate melt being overheated so the melting centre did no longer melt. All in all the experience was was spoilt by having too few staff for the number of bookings over the lunch time period as in the main the food was of a good standard despite the full menu it being available. Will I be booking again? I don’t think so as two visits in a month have thrown up the same problems.

The first time we went it was quiet and the food was great., We returned on a Sunday, waited over an hour for our food which when it arrived was so bad it was inedible so we went home to eat. We returned on a Saturday. We were told the food wait time was 20-30mins. We waited an hour and a half with two hungry children. When I asked the staff kept saying it would just be a few minutes. The food was worse than Wetherspoons and three times the price. We will not be going back.

After past bad experience here I went tonight with around twenty of us from work and may I just say I was very impressed with the service we received from our waitress. She worked very hard and did everything to make our experience easy and relaxing. I didn’t catch her name but thank you

Sadly the ‘Dog friendly’ pub isn’t 100% dog friendly, we booked a table for a family gathering on the basis that we could take our dogs in to find the table was in a non dog area! After asking to move tables half the family were in the dog zone and the other in the none dog zone. Make sure you double and triple check if you book a table and want to bring your dog before hand. Sunday lunch was cold and bland missing items like gravy and sauces. The trio of meat was a duo and did I mention it was cold.

Our party of eight had a lovely time over a long birthday lunch, with good food, good service and good ambiance. The meals had a certain freshness to them, especially the vegetables, although the beef was a little dry, but the gravy and horseradish made up for that. We eat in the dog-friendly area, which was more comfortable than most such areas.
