The Bull Inn in Cherwell

What a treat came across this place went in for a bite and pint and was excellent food was great and a lovely cozy pub freindy barman would choose this over any pub chain

The food is tasty. The service was nice, but we waited quite a long time for these 3 dishes, even though there was no one in front of us.

1st time at the bull inn , New owners are very welcoming and it is a warm and friendly pub. Lunch was lovely. Back on Sunday for roast dinner .

A great spot of lunch as we avoided an accident in the M6. Excellent fish and chips with homemade tartare sauce and the homemade pizzas also great. Nice to have the homemade touches.

Foods always great, staff lovely although went to a pub quiz and was only 3 teams including mine so atmosphere was a bit off

Had meal with friends few weeks ago, meal was expensive, the cheesecake had no taste so wasn't finished and the staff could have been alittle more attentive as we were the only ones eating!

The beer, food and service are all excellent at this pub. But the landlady is what makes this place exceptional. She is like the lovechild of Ray Mears and Q from James Bond. On the occasion that I visited the Bull, I witnessed her fix a broken child's buggy with twigs and duct tape and perform minor medical procedures on a child. If carlsberg did landlady's, she would be it.

We stopped in for dinner to break up our journey north, the staff and atmosphere was lovely and the food was excellent, all fresh and home made. We would highly recommend to others in the area or passing through and want a more traditional pub for dinner.

Lovely friendly staff. Fresh cooked (homemade) food. They split a pizza and done half and half for my boys. One is dairy free. Good gluten free puddings too. Will definitely return.

Great pub, gorgeous landlady Karen, well kept beers, decent food prepared by the landlord...spacious beer garden is a sunny day go to...if you're a local then there's no excuse not to drop in, and if you're passing through no reason not to tarry a while and break your journey

Just had a fabulous Sunday roast dinner here today. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, they even managed to change our table last minute to save the dogs having to stay in the car (thank you for that). Roast dinner was tasty and filling. Would definitely recommend

Another Christmas, another first class Christmas meal at the Bull Inn Launton. The pub was very busy, we were a group of 24 and there was another group there also for a Christmas meal, but the service, food and ambiance was so good that we could have been the only customers. Delicious food, hot and beautifully presented, served by friendly efficient staff. Would recommend this pub any time. Thank you Karen, Brandon, Kirsty and Louise.

When we found the food offer at a nearby hotel totally dreadful, we googled for an alternative place to eat and it suggested the Bull, where we ate on two nights. What a super find, really excellent food and service, very cheerful friendly and helpful bar staff, and something that is becoming a very rare, a REAL Village local.

This is probably the worst pub food we have ever had . Tasteless chill con carne. Cold chips , tiny burger pattie . Atmosphere was sorely lacking and poor service. Certainly won’t be returning.

Our first time here and we did pre book as it was school holidays and a really hot spell weather wise. We chose this as it had a play area and is local. The staff were all really lovely and the food was delicious, a great choice of mains. We had a variety of meals, pizza, a wrap, burgers and a salad and were all lovely. My grandson didn’t eat his pizza as it was so hot and he was busy playing so they boxed it up for us. It was pleasantly quiet and we stayed a long time. Will definitely go back.

Stopped off on way home food is good nice and clean

Very friendly helpful staff, nice surroundings, unfortunately the two x Sirlion steak we ordered as a surf & Turf were chewy and tough, ruining the dining experience for us. Everything else was spot on. But £50 quid for two disappointing meals warrants a 2 star review, sorry! Prawns were excellent. Other customers enjoyed their food.

Friendly village pub. Linked to Greene King so it is their beer on tap accompanied by a range of others. Beer is good, and food too, we went for Sunday roast that was plenty big enough to fill you up for the rest of the day.

We’d experienced a couple of quite poor pubs in the Bicester area over previous days, so it was great to arrive to a warm reception and smile. The staff were attentive and happy, and the service quick and efficient. The food was tasty and very enjoyable. We’d definitely eat here again.

The Bull Inn is a really beautiful, well run pub that fulfills the expectations of what an English country pub should be. The staff are friendly, the food is great and the atmosphere is first class. I would highly recommend a visit to to this pub to eat, drink and socialise in this first class establishment.

Driven past this place for many years but never visited until today. It's a convenient half way to meet family. It was a Saturday & got there for opening time of 12 noon. Not going to blaze a trail to culinary excellence but for a village pub the food was great. Good standard, nice selection, the menu wasn't overcrowded, with decent portion sizes & not overwhelmed with a huge portion of chips! Good value price wise. Staff were friendly & welcoming. Good selection of beers etc. Outside space with grassed area as well as patio. Definitely go again.Best to book I'd say.

poor choice of ales, atmosphere was flat. didn't get any acknowledgement from the old grumpy man at the bar whilst being served.

Friendly service as per usual, the pub is dog friendly which adds to the atmosphere alongside the open fires. Been in for food on 3 previous occasions with everyone leaving full and happy customers.

Above-average pub grub at reasonable prices. The menu is pretty extensive (pub main traditionals, steaks, burgers, pizzas) so all are catered-for. Decent beer selection with friendly, but not intrusive, service. Certainly worth your visit if in the Bicester area.

Lovely atmosphere. Mix of people eating and enjoying a drink. Roaring open fire. Very good friendly service. Great choice of starters. 3 Sunday roasts and other favourites. We had the roast beef which was very good. Delicious gravy. Well cooked vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. Sadly, no room for pudding. But it looked good. Very good value. Very dog friendly. Would definitely return.

Decent pub food with friendly staff. Menu is a little underwhelming and could do with livening up a little. The scampi was acceptable but not great and the burger overcooked. Would go again, but wouldn't rush.

Our first visit here - visiting family we hadn't seen for some time - arriving for Sunday lunch. The gardens were lovely to sit in for a pre-lunch drink on a sunny day, and the ambience inside when seated was charming.The roast dinners had a good choice of meats and selection of vegetables, all nicely cooked and very tasty. The desserts were awesome and it was difficult to choose - all delicious. The staff were welcoming, efficient, polite, and attentive. There was a young child in our party and the staff were very accommodating which was much appreciated. All in all a lovely family experience in a lovely place with great food and delightful staff - well done and we hope to have another opportunity to come again in future.

Had dinner here tonight and the nachos were the best we have had in ages, would love to have them as a main meal. Although my hand made pizza was the best too, stuffed now, thanks both for a lovely dinner

Just had or didn't have I should say,a meal here.ordered a small beef nachos and side salad and was given a wrap cut into large pieces,nothing at all that resembled nachos.The lovely lady front of house who was serving was very understanding and apologetic but the kitchen staff/ chef was another story.We could hear her rude comments from the kitchen.To be clear I did not expect a bowl of doritos,I was in deed expecting a plate of something that actually resembled nachos.The food here is not of the highest standard and the chef has poor manners.The only saving grace of this establishment is the lovely lady front of house who did in deed take the offending nachos off our order.

Great village pub and beer garden

Traditional county pub, went here with family for Sunday lunch. Pub busy but plenty space and COVID rules being followed staff very friendly, good menu for vegetarians and non vegetarians. Went for traditional roast beef which was very nice. Didn’t have starter but good selection and the puddings very nice and all reasonably priced. Good selection beers and wines. The pub was busy but we didn’t feel rushed and overall a very pleasant experience

Great looking thatched restaurant inside & out. Staff are very helpful & polite. We both ordered the mixed grill, having them both cooked completely opposite to each other by our choice, & they both came out perfect. There is plenty of choice on the menu at good fair prices. We will be returning.
