Four of us went for the Christmas afternoon tea. What a treat. Fantastic, fresh sandwiches - good salmon, cucumber and cream cheese. The wraps were amazingly tasty - a mixture of chicken and turkey with an aromatic twist to the Coronation chicken. Miniature quiches were to dye for! Scones are lovely, little pastries homemade and delicious. We were offered non-alcoholic champagne and tea and coffee were flowing continually. Perfect tastes in glorious surroundings. Most highly recommended.

What an amazing place. The chalk board of weekly activities was extensive and if I lived closer, I would definitely attend some of them. We turned up and needed a table for 14, because we were there at opening, this wasn't a problem. The staff were really friendly and helpful and there was no wait for our drinks or cakes. The cakes were so fresh and there was such a good variety, enough choice for everyone! We ended up staying for over 4 hours and was so nice to see people coming and going all the time and the community puzzle was a great addition too. We were so lucky with the weather, the children loved the playground and green space to run around in. One of our party had a dog, that was also allowed in with us. I'll take mine next time.

Were given a British Pub card voucher for a birthday so came in to use it. Were served by Kayleigh who was excellent. I had fish and chips which was very good and my husband had steak which was fine. Drinks were good. Will come back as was nice experience and quite close to our new house.

Had a Sunday buffet lunch here, the service was friendly and the food was lovely, with plenty of choice (even chips & nuggets for kids if required), and to our surprise it is part of Shahi (which is our local Indian restaurant, which we use weekly for our takeaways as their food is just superb and never fails to disappoint. We will certain use again for our Sunday lunch.

Lovely place for a meet up with friends. There is a small area for babies too with play mats and toys. High chairs available but they do need a clean or a cleaning station type of thing. Well decorated for Halloween 🎃 Food was very nice and quick to come out. It was very busy so I’d definitely book ahead, they had to turn away a lot of people who hadn’t booked ahead. Great to walk around after and it has an Aquarian and reptile shop, so great for babies to look at.

My husband and I went to Daruchini for an early meal, there was only one other couple in the restaurant, we ordered and our popadoms arrived which we enjoyed with all the pickles. After an hour I asked the man who appeared to be in charge where our meal was , he went to investigate and two warm plates were put on our table, the food arrived about five minutes later but the plates had got cold by then. The food was very nice and we both enjoyed our meals , asked for the bill which was put on the table and then the waiter said to pay at the bar which we did , the same man processed our credit card and never said a word about our experience, would have expected him to ask if we enjoyed our meal and to say sorry for the wait.

Ate in the restaurant on one of the hottest nights of the year. Air conditioning not turned on and just 2 small fans in use....one of which was for the staff by the till area !! Food was ok ( no more) but the whole experience was so uncomfortable we ate up and left in 45 minutes. No surprise that there was only one other table occupied !!

The new landlords could run a masterclass titled, "How to ruin a successful community pub in no time at all" This place used to be a buzzing community pub full of friendly locals who would always make newcomers or one off visitors feel welcome. In fact this is part of the reason we moved to Binfield as a friendly village pub was part of the decision making process. Since the new landlords have taken over they have systematically ruined the atmosphere by removing bar stools at the bar, placing tables right next to the bar and generally driven any of the regular locals away. This has resulted in a quiet pub that has lost its soul. I'm not sure if this has been a conscious decision to change the clientele, but it seems like they have done this deliberatly. Saturday and Sunday afternoons were always busy, and you'd have been lucky to get a table however the complete opposite happens now, you could have your pick of any tables in the pub because its empty. I understand that Sky sports for pubs is expensive, but I feel it was a silly decision to remove this, as the number of people in the pub watching sport would surely have covered some or all of the cost and more. Now they just have some random 'atmosphere' tv with no real benefit at all. The Binfield Club and Stag & Hounds must be rubbing their hands in glee as the regulars have started to move on to them. With the Jack O'Newbury re-opening soon, I fear the Vic will be another of the statistics you read about with pubs closing at an alarming rate in the UK. These guys really need to know their audience and understand what makes a pub a pub. Not really sure what their strategy is, but it's definitely not working.
