The Yorkshire Rose in Bracknell Forest

We had family up from Cornwall and went to The Yorkshire Rose for dinner. Everyone had a lovely time, with great food and delightful service. “The Rose” creates a great mix of pub and restaurant, with a lively atmosphere. In the restaurant we still felt connected to the rest of the clientele and after dinner a DJ entertained for birthday party, which kept us in the bar for a while longer. Overall it was a great night and the outlaws had a fun time, which is all that really matters. :D

I recently visited the Yorkshire Rose for dinner and drinks with a friend. We enjoyed some lovely pints of Peroni and Amstel. To eat we had the Fish and Chips, and the Chicken Burger, all freshly cooked and delicious - one of the best chicken burgers I've ever had! Klod the manager looked after us throughout the evening from greeting us on arrival, making sure everything was well with the food, through to thanking us and wishing us well as we headed home. Big thanks to Klod and all of the staff for looking after us and for the excellent service throughout our visit. I can't wait to return to The Yorkshire Rose again, and I would highly recommend popping in for drinks in the bar, food in the restaurant, or both.

Booked the Yorkshire Rose for a work lunch, couldn’t fault the place whatsoever. Beautiful bar on entrance, greeted well by the manager on arrival, he did everything he could to make sure we had a good experience. Bar staff cheerful and attentive. Would highly recommend the Butterfly Chicken or the Lamb Rump. Will definitely return.

I feel disappointed writing this review, having been a loyal customer of the Yorkshire Rose for many years, but we will never ever return. Booked for Mother’s Day as a family of 4. Received a call one hour before we were due to arrive asking if I had cancelled our booking as their system was showing our table had been cancelled. I assured them I hadn’t cancelled and would still like to come - I was told it was no problem, ‘we’ll fit you in’. Should have known. We arrived, to be told by the manager that he tried to call me four times to say our booking was cancelled but I didn’t answer - this was a lie. Their system apparently sent an email also - another lie. Looking back, it’s clear they wanted us to leave because they had overbooked. We got sat on a table in a corner, directly in front of a door where people were constantly walking through to use the toilet, and the staff were reaching over our heads to pin restaurant tickets to a board on the wall next to us the entire time we were there. We waited over 45 minutes to get a drink and a bowl of olives, and when our mains finally arrived my son’s spaghetti bolognese was covered in cheese, despite us asking for there to be absolutely no cheese on it. The manager came over and offered to make a fresh bowl, and promised it would take ‘2 minutes’ - 15 minutes later it arrived, and in the mean time we had to give our son food from our plates to appease him while he waited. When I very politely expressed my disappointment to the manager, I told that he was surprised we turned up and threw his hands in the air saying ‘he had done everything he could to make us happy’. An absolute joke. We refused to pay the full bill and settled on 50% - we didn’t receive an apology and the owner made us feel like we were a problem and an inconvenience to him. Clearly the Yorkshire Rose isn’t short of footfall so I imagine if the manager is reading this, he probably won’t care - his pockets are full, especially after last weekend. I certainly won’t be spending a penny in there again and I’ll take my business and my recommendations to the Winning Post where they show their customers respect and don’t make them feel like an inconvenience.

This is normally a favourite of ours having left 5star reviews before - but today we revisited after a break from the place and they got it all very wrong - I’m hoping it’s a glitch and not the new norm. We went there for Mother’s Day expecting it to be busy. I didn’t expect though to wait 45 mins for my table which I had booked for 17:00 - with my ‘impatient’ two year old in tow. My wife and I waited at the desk and were ignored for nearly thirty minutes before someone even asked if we were waiting for the table. Once sat down, another 20 min wait ensued before a surly waitress asked if we wanted to order drinks and food - we hadn’t even been given a menu at this point. When I asked about a plastic cup for the squash I had ordered for my little girl, the rather naive young male server asked ‘why can’t she be trusted?’ I guess he hasn’t dealt with young children before…. The whole meal took just under three hours to complete - large parts of the service no one was to be seen or to request condiments etc. plates after each course took nearly twenty mins each to collect up. It quietened up towards the end of our time there at which point the owners (as I presume) started hovering about asking whether we’d enjoyed the meal. When my wife highlighted it had taken quite a long time, we were told well we are very busy. But that’s my point - that’s a YOU problem, not the customers. Families that came earlier in the day are paying the same money as me and my family are later in the day. Make sure you have enough staff for customers. The fact you’ve packed too many bookings in and now can’t seat or serve me and my family properly is your fault, not ours. I was so annoyed I could barely speak to your staff after that. On paying the bill, I noted your service charge had already been included (which didn’t used to be the case). I suspect that’s because you knew I would be challenging it otherwise - as would many others who visited this afternoon and were also equally unhappy with your abysmal service. Very poor. On the food - the starters and main were ok at best. The desserts were delicious but £37 a head felt lumpy for the goods we were provided with. I hope you improve or you’ll struggle to attract people moving forward - I for one won’t be any rush to return now.

We booked this venue to celebrate our daughter’s 21st birthday. We went as a large family group. The service was great from start to finish and the food was incredible. Every single meal was cooked perfectly. I absolutely love this place and will definitely recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere special to eat. We will go there again soon.

I can honestly say that Yorkshire Rose has the best food in Bracknell. The staff is lovely and very attentive. Never had a bad experience here.

Me and my wife had our first date here many years ago, it's changed hands but still retains it's high quality of service and food. We celebrated my wife's birthday here with 25+ friends a few days ago and had a great time. The staff are fab and the food delicious. Friendly, welcoming and efficient.

Every time we frequent The Yorkshire Rose we have such a lovely evening. Klod and his team are always so welcoming, the service is great and if and when we eat there the food is amazingly flavoursome and perfectly presented. We will be back again soon, that’s for sure. X

The food was delicious and beautifully presented (a special thanks to the chef and his team), the staff were lovely and made sure that everything ran like clockwork and to top it off, the atmosphere was friendly and festive. I had the lamb it was very good my fiancée loves their seafood spaghetti generally if we go anywhere else we are disappointed. The Yorkshire rose is the best by far in this area. We love the sunny garden, the superb food and the owners sense of humour and his fantastic customer service, he always makes an effort to make you feel welcome & appreciates your business he has a good personal relationship with so many regulars the place is just so good we love it.

The Yorkshire Rose is our absolute favorite local. We've been innumerable time for drinks, serval times for dinner and recently had a family function there for which Klod put on an exception buffet. It's just a great pub for food, drinks or ideally both. Brilliantly managed and excellent staff.

Although my meal, in the end, was delicious, it was a torturous route to get there. Oh, and before I forget, I did send a message directly to the YR via their website ‘contact us’ facility on Sunday 24 Sept, but not so much as an acknowledgement which downgraded my review one star further. I have a dairy intolerance and telephoned in advance to check I could be catered for and was assured I could be. I ordered sea bass and was assured dairy free. It arrived covered in a sauce but again assured it was dairy free. I was suspicious so asked yet again and a second waitress went to “double” check. After a few seconds my plate was whisked away. I was with a group of friends but at no time was any one of us asked about allergies or intolerances. I could have been severely unwell and this is not just about me. I expect better. Room for improvement

The Yorkshire Rose is an ideal setting and fantastic environment. The staff and service are super attentive and are very welcoming to families, children and dogs. The food is amazing and it’s a real privilege to have such an honest and hard working venue to enjoy. Couldn’t fault anything and would highly recommend.

A very welcoming bar/restaurant. You can just have a drink at the bar or comfy lounge chair or have a meal in the restaurant or bar area. Good varied menu, tasty, well presented, decent size portions, the homemade pizzas are very good too! There's a bar menu if you fancy just a snack. It's not a sandwich and chips place. Lovely garden area in the summer. Dogs very welcome in the bar area too. As for the owner and his wife and team, you couldn't ask for a better host. Always accommodating and takes time to have a chat. So glad they got through the pandemic and are still going strong. The Facilities are also great for private functions and quite sizeable.

We have visited Yorkshire Rose in May this year in a touristic visit to UK . It was suggested by my friends there and during our stay we went almost every dinner with my husband and kids. The place was so classy and welcoming, the food was delicious and full of savors. The staff was really professional and service was remarkable. I would strongly suggest to all that want to have a wonderful experience in enjoying good food and welcoming place

We had the most fabulous private party at the Yorkshire Rose on Friday night. Everything was perfect. The food and drinks were gorgeous. The venue newly re opened after a revamp was looking spot on for our family party celebrating my sons and daughter in laws wedding with lots of singing and dancing afterwards. Klod and his team did a fabulous job we are delighted how well it turned out. Thank you I felt in such good hands knowing it was going to be spot on 💕

We have been at the Yorkshire Rose a few times but whenever we come for dinner it reminds us why we love this place so much. Klod is an amazing host and he is running an exceptional restaurant with excellent and smooth service. We have eaten at The Yorkshire Rose on a few occasions recently, celebrating a significant family birthday, a casual evening meal for two and again today, this time four of us over lunch. We have taken advantage of eating in the garden, the bar and the main restaurant areas and have found everything exceptional each time. The Sunday Roast option is fantastic - great quality and really very tasty. We have also had a couple of dishes off each of the Sunday menus and the bar menu (the pizzas are so very authentic) - it is very clear that the kitchen deliver with real passion, everything is great quality, sauces are all full of flavour and portion sizes generous. Topped off with some really great fresh deserts (the brownie was to die for) we really couldn’t ask for more. Service is really good, attentive without being pushy and everything delivered with a smile. Thank you Klodian, you have a great team. We are so pleased to have found this little gem and will be back very soon. Really can’t recommend this little find enough

The yorkshire rose was a fantastic looking pub/restaurant .the food was second to none .we spent nearly £200 on our meal and we were very satisfied with the whole experience untill we received the bill .it included a 10% service charge which was nearly £20 we were not impressed we all discussed the legality of it but decided just to pay and leave it was a big black mark against such a lovely evening . Thats a lot of money .never again

We had to change this booking twice during the day, but the staff on the phone were pleasant and understanding. Then, we were given a distanced table in lovely surroundings and the food and drinks were superb. Our second visit and we will be back - a lovely evening.
