The meal we had here wasn’t just very good it was special, a meal we won’t forget in a hurry. We had Madras, jalfraizi cauliflower side dish and the tastiest Keema Nan that melted in your mouth. It’s across town for us but going forward is our curry restaurant of choice - outstanding.

Used this restaurant for almost 25 years, it used to be the best curry place in the Bracknell area. So good in fact that we ordered a take away nearly every Friday night for years on end. Every so often you’d get a blip and have a not so good curry, but that all changed this summer. From August through September every curry was way of the mark. We had 4 weeks of well below par, and had a 2 week break. Went back and the next 3 were worse. Once amazing curries lacked flavour, ingredients and on at least 1 occasion was so bad we binned nearly £40 of food. We later found out that the restaurant had been sold, and was no longer part of the little chain it had belonged too. It is a shame as the manager, Tarik is the loveliest man, but the place has gone right down the pan, and so, after 25 years and goodness only knows how many take always, eat ins, buffets and recommendations, we are out. A once amazing curry house is now one to avoid, we are using other local places now, they are nowhere near as good as the Amir once was, but alas the glory decades are over. If you are looking for a good curry, it doesn’t live here anymore. Sad days.

We visited this restaurant on a Friday evening and were warmly greeted on arrival. The restaurant isn't very big but is light and airy and nicely decorated. The tables are spaced sufficiently and you don't feel that you're on top of each other. The staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful. The mixed starters were very well presented and tasty. We ordered Chef's Special Chicken and a Lamb dish as our mains, both were excellent. Very tender meat with lovely flavours. The Amir and it's sister restaurant Koh I Noor seem to be the only Indian restaurants in Bracknell that still serve alcohol so it was nice the enjoy a Cobra and a bottle of wine with our meal. Not the cheapest Indian restaurant but the quality of the food, service and decor makes it worth every penny! Well done Amir - we will be back to see you again. Thank you

Often get take out here as I live so close but have eaten in. Food is very good, always try to accommodate any off menu requests. Sunday buffet has a good selection, you also get to pick which naan you want and it’s cooked to order - fabulous!

This place does nice food but I find it so strange that the advertising is so poor. I know where it is but it’s almost impossible to find any reference to it online anywhere. Even this tripadvisor site has it located in the middle of a roundabout in completely the wrong part of Bracknell with a website link that takes you to a dead link for kor I Noor which is a different restaurant altogether (although apparently owned by the same people). The place always seems completely dead to me which I guess is no wonder as it’s impossible to even find a phone number online let alone a menu!

I must have tried all the curry house around this area and Amir is the best. How I come to this conclusion? When I visit each curry house, I ordered the same dish so that I can compare all of them. Amir also offers a Sunday buffet at GBP12 / person. The buffet selection is good but to be honest, food tastes nicer when it is freshly cook to order. If you are around this area (or in Bracknell) and want a curry, Amir will not disappointed you. It also had a large car park outside the restaurant which is free in the evening.

Been here three times now and we've always found the curries to be excellent. Our kids love the food here and always eat it which says something as they are quite fussy when it comes to curry. They have really cold beer too. Price very reasonable for this standard of curry.

Haven't tried the buffet here before and it was very enjoyable Good variety of starters and the chef's special chicken went down very well with those of our party who enjoyed something quite spicy. It's lovely to be able to help yourself and try different things as a bit of an Indian good novice, and you don't feel over-faced as I sometimes do in other restaurants when faced with the menu and portion sizes. Good quality food at a very reasonable price of £10 per person and after drinks it worked out to approx £20 each and no washing up !!Service is great and friendly Very fortunate to have the Amir on our doorstep and will definitely be paying another visit again soon !

Since Daruchini closed it's doors (although they are at the Cinnamon Tree - it's not the same), we've been trying to find a good enough Indian Restaurant local to us. Amir had been recommended a few times, so I took the plunge.Inside the restaurant it's nicely decorated, but I hadn't event sat down and was being asked what drink I wanted and did I want poppadoms! Also, a strange thing to say but the chairs are so heavy and they have no real way of pulling them in as you sit down, so as I was being asked about drinks etc, I was struggling with the chair and overall it just put me on the back foot. Not a good start.Food I can only say was average - it really was pretty unremarkable.Hurry up Daruchini and get the Roebuck opened!

Too many curry houses have lots of exotically titled dishes, but over 50% the descriptions contain the words 'made with a sauce of tomato, onion and capsicum'. I call this TOC. TOC is usually a perfectly pleasant brown sludge that makes the food taste the same. Amir falls into the TOC trap, so I scanned the menu for something different. The speciality 'traditional lamb bone curry' caught my eye. Cooking meat on the bone usually really adds to the flavour. Sadly, when it arrived, the meat was covered in a thick sauce, which i felt defeated the point of the dish. I have to say though, that the accompanying chapati was one of the best I have had.The staff were very friendly, the decor was a little heavy and the service was rapid – too fast in fact.A very acceptable, neighbour curry house, but nothing special.

We regularly obtain takeaway food from this restaurant and have never been really disappointed. When things have not gone right, they are happy to put it right straight away. Not sure if it is a good thing or bad thing that they recognise us when we call and they usual know what we want (maybe we eat too much takeaway :)), but it is nice to feel valued as a customer. Never actually eaten in the restaurant itself, but the takeaway food is as good as it gets.

We've only had take aways from this restaurant so far but they were so good and such high quality ingredients, we're now planning to book a table here for New Year's eve.I was never a big fan of Indian food as it's usually very greasy, bland and all tastes the same. Not here! All dishes we've tried so far (a fair few!) are superb. You can tell they've been freshly cooked, beautifully spiced and the taste! OMG, I'm not overdoing it here - the taste is stunningly beautiful. Every bite has different layers. All you want to do is savour that bite and then try more lol. I'd recommend Amir's food 100%. Amir is quite a small Indian restaurant tastefully decorated. The menu appeared to be exactly the same as it's sister restaurants in the area, the Koh I Noor & The Passage to India. The food was well presented and of good quality and the restaurant itself was very busy. This was probably the reason that we felt rather rushed. Not sure if we will return as nothing really stood out to make us think "we'll come here again".Really just a run-of -the-mill Indian restaurant serving the same dishes as two other restaurants in the area.

My husband and I went to Daruchini for an early meal, there was only one other couple in the restaurant, we ordered and our popadoms arrived which we enjoyed with all the pickles. After an hour I asked the man who appeared to be in charge where our meal was , he went to investigate and two warm plates were put on our table, the food arrived about five minutes later but the plates had got cold by then. The food was very nice and we both enjoyed our meals , asked for the bill which was put on the table and then the waiter said to pay at the bar which we did , the same man processed our credit card and never said a word about our experience, would have expected him to ask if we enjoyed our meal and to say sorry for the wait.

Regrettably, I am compelled to give this restaurant a zero-star rating. Despite initial positive reviews, our family dinner turned out to be an incredibly disappointing experience. Initially, they confirmed a reservation for our family of six but emphasized the necessity of an appointment and the restriction on bringing a dog due to potential inconvenience to other guests. Upon our arrival, we were the sole patrons during the entire three-hour visit, with no other customers even for takeout. The waiter's discourteous request for us to write down our own orders set a perplexing tone. The subsequent delays in delivering lukewarm dishes, particularly the excessively chewy and artificially colored chicken tikka, further marred our dining experience. All our ordered curries, apart from the Dal tadka, unexpectedly had a sweet flavor. Compounding the issue, the same individual served as both receptionist and waiter, displaying a lack of responsiveness to our needs. We had to approach him for basic requests such as additional cutlery and drinking water. His constant cellphone use demonstrated a lack of professionalism. Upon settling the bill, the waiter refused to provide a physical copy, citing a peculiar policy. Despite my insistence on its necessity, he directed me to email or physically visit for a receipt, leaving me puzzled. In summary, as a dedicated food enthusiast, this stands as my most unsatisfactory restaurant experience to date. I strongly discourage anyone from visiting this establishment, particularly if expecting authentic Indian cuisine, as it specializes in Bangladeshi dishes.
