No room at the inn For Jesus Tried to book a table for one Was told it was full So decided to try a takeaway as I’m in a hotel Placed order on line And walked to restaurant And was informed it wasn’t ready FairPlay they offered a free drink What I saw was empty tables And loads of delivery orders flying out the door So the point I’m getting at is when you try to dine at n your own They would rather have 4 people Anyway on to the food I ordered a mix starter Which was colder then my Mrs After I’ve been on a 2 day bender The madras was decent the chicken had a lovely spice So would I return The answer is no

Ordered a takeout Boxing Day. Food arrived on time. We ordered two chicken dishes - the quality of the meat was inedible. The chicken was hard & not edible. We also ordered a paneer dish. The paneer was dry & again, rock hard. This used to always be a favourite but has gone down considerably. A real shame that standards have dropped so badly. Terrible food - avoid!

NB The previous owner has gone and it’s no longer the Jahan Kitchen – it’s now run by different people – and the negative reviews refer to the previous guy (who left July/Aug 2024). The food at Panna Kitchen is superb. I’ve never had a mainstream madras or tikka masala from there – but I’ve had a number of their specialist dishes – the Railway Chicken Curry, Bengal Naga, Chicken Makhani – and they are ruddy fantastic. There is literally no comparison in value for money between Panna Kitchen and other curry houses – they absolutely stuff their food boxes. The sheer weight of them tells you. One rice box does at least three people! Compared to The Shenai? You’re joking! A little while ago, I ordered a butter chicken and naan bread from The Shenai, takeaway, and it was £16.90! Split it between two of us and it was nowhere near a meal – both hungry afterwards. From Panna Kitchen, I got a railway curry, rice, naan bread and a bombay aloo, they gave a discount and it came to £16.50 – and THREE of us were stuffed afterwards. And they gave a few free poppadums as well. & the food quality was absolutely brilliant! The difference between the two is mental. The Panna Kitchen might not be the most efficient nor quickest, bless ‘em, but they do glorious food and it’s EXCELLENT value!
