Amazing service, the staff was super sweet and caring. The food was ok, but not as good as expected... The gnocchi were missing personality, the taste was nice but not as tasty as could have been. All of the other plates were fine but the portions were way too small. I did not expect to get a huge portion but 2 slices of duck breast... I think 3 stars reflect the actual value. The dessert was not as nice as you expected it to be, we were expecting a nice gelato but it was mediocre... We paid quite a lot for what we had, thus I would not recommend this place.

Very enjoyable meeting place. Even the most critical diner in the group was happy! Excellent food. Nothing too much trouble. Certainly will revisit.

We opted to go to this gastro pub having read great things on line and the fact that the fish and chips here are supposed to be a speciality. However, it turned out that those who ordered the beef and burger dishes made the best choices. To my mind, the haddock and chips - ordered by three members of our group - were definitely inferior to what one gets at the nearby Oliver’s fish and chip restaurant where the price is at least 50% lower. I suppose one must take into account the lovely decor of this pub and the very good service but not the place to head to if you are a fish and chip aficionado. On another day my verdict may be different but today was not that day.

very lovely setting! but we bought moon roast coffee from here and the barista ground it for us, but it way too fine for an espresso machine to extract through - it was literally ground for turkish coffee. tried to get in touch with them about it, but absolute radio silence. so £9 down the drain there 😅 the granola breakfast bowl was yummy, but the brioche breakfast roll was very dry. coffee is good - cakes are a bit mediocre. not a place we’d go back to, which is a shame.

Lovely Thai food in country pub. Not very busy despite Saturday night. Spice levels spot on, good service from friendly staff. Loved the 80/90s soundtrack too.

We had a booking as part of a cycle tour we had planned but, in chasing up on an unanswered question about our bikes, we were advised that they would probably be closed on our booking date for refurbishments - seemingly our responsibility to find out about this and, to enact the cancellation process?!

We did a hike in the area and called into the Fox for lunch and a pint. The pub exterior looked a bit tired so our expectations weren't high, However, as soon as we entered the pub and were met with a friendly welcome things started to look up. Like a previous reviewer we had the tuna sandwich and the steak burger with Stilton but our experience was far more positive. The food was simple but very tasty, especially the chunky chips. Likewise the beer was well kept and very refreshing after a long walk. There was a large group of ramblers in the pub who had clearly arranged to park in the pub car park before doing their walk. They all appeared to be enjoying their post walk food & drinks too.
