Absolutely loved it here and can't wait to go back.The food was brilliant, the staff were lovely and to top it off the locals were extremely welcoming

The abysmal roast dinner was all microwaved to warm back up, so so bad that we actually laughed when we looked at it. Grey beef, watery gravy. Lasagne portioned off and then heated up so swimming in grease and FULL of chunks of garlic. Chips were fine but oily. Probably should have complained, but after a long walk we just wanted to eat something and get home, plus there is unlikely to have been much they could do to resolve things. Staff are nice. Dog friendly pub

Popped in yesterday and it felt like I had stepped back into the 1990's but in a good way. Cute doggos, lovely garden and set in a very beautiful location.

Service was really quick, staff are friendly and welcoming too. Ordered scampi and fries and they were really good, and reasonably priced. Thanks Miriam and the team!

Super welcoming pub. Good beer, friendly staff and locals. Even has a dart board and a pool table. Beer is decent. A good pub. V pleased I found it.

We stopped for lunch from our walk of the local area to find a remote village pub in a picturesque setting. Once through the entrance you are met with a small central bar surrounded on three sides by two seating areas and a games room. A very pleasant layout. Three cask ales on offer, the first sampled was not good and quickly returned and exchanged for one of the other ales which I'm happy to say was excellent. Small but sufficient menu of mainly pub grub. The day we visited 3 dishes were unavailable but we ate heartily anyway. Friendly staff and locals. This would have been five stars were it not let down by the first poor pint. Definitely worth another visit.

Friendly welcome and good service. Only criticism is a few of the menu items were unavailable and on a small menu, this really did limit choice. I would say the food is no frills pub grub.

Great pub, great landlady, one of a decreasing number of pubs that positively welcome dogs. It's been quite some time since my previous visit, and I was delighted to find nothing much has changed. I chose the fish pie, simple and ample. A superb village pub, thank you.

Unspoilt country / village pub with welcoming hosts. Well kept local ale. we always enjoy the pubs like those which don't try too hard to move with the times, this is how a pub should be. We also ate here, recommend the Sunday roasts, good choice and nice spuds, tender meat. Will return soon . Many thanks 😊

Had a lovely lunch at the Fox Inn today. Portion sizes were really good, the food was freshly prepared and was to a very high standard. Lovely quiet atmosphere on a Tuesday lunchtime. Gorgeous location and really friendly staff (especially Mel who was so helpful in providing alternative driving routes!). Couldn't fault it, thank you for a lovely experience! Recommended 👍

No drinks on tap like soft and some beers. The moon Dance was great from XXX brewery. Closes early due to demand and location. Men's toilets are entered from outside.

Aproper pub, with good beer, honest tasty food and all the ambience you could wish for. The staff were fab too, very friendlybamf helpful. My one complaint is that I don't live locally!

The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food tasted ok.... BUT..... the place is absolutely filthy through and through. It really needs a complete deep clean and I found that very off-putting for an establishment serving food. If I could have left discreetly before ordering I would have. Such a shame

This place had recently experienced a power cut because of the storms. They were still able to serve decent food. The menu is diverse and has lots of good things on it. The woman who greeted us was really nice. The atmosphere was extremely welcoming and the whole place just felt friendly. It was great to see so many foxes absolutely everywhere. It was amazing to note how many fox-related things were featured ie cushions, the backs of chairs, photographs etc. The place is quite small, but that just adds to how cosy, warm and friendly it feels. The people who attended the pub were also extremely friendly. I was allured by the fact that they spoke to us and they were just really nice. The people were not aloof at all and this was very much appreciated. What also made my day was that photos of an older man and a younger man were posted on the all. I noticed that the younger man walked into the pub and I recognised him because of the photographs! I recommend this place 100%. I just loved seeing all of the beautiful items with foxes on them. The people (including the customers) are also really lovely and nice.

Fantastic food served in a beautiful, quiet, traditional English pub. Very much off the beaten track if you are looking for a "hidden gem" type of place! Thoroughly friendly and welcoming service too!

I love this friendly, local pub. I've been here twice (including today's visit) and the food is always excellent. The staff are very accommodating and make you feel comfortable. The toilets were immaculate which always give me confidence, particularly when visiting somewhere new. An unexpected bonus was saying hello to two friendly dogs who were sat with their owners inside. What a treat!

Just walked to The Fox Inn. Most welcoming the owner/bar staff so so friendly. Had a few more than a couple of Wadsworth 6x. A really smashing pint. Max the dog enjoyed his pork scratching and we enjoyed our bowl of proper chucky chips. Strange how it seemed to take an age to walk there, but the walk back went so quickly. 9.25 miles for great beers in a smashing village pub. Look forward to visiting again soon.

Lovely food and atmosphere and owner/server. Very nice time, and great to be able to take the dog:but..the whole place could do with a good clean. Such a shame.

Visited this area for the first time Yesterday. Perfect for a walks and on top of that you have Fox Inn, lovely pub with great food and very friendly staff. They are also starting with breakfast option on Sundays. Definately will be back!

I meet up with an old friend once a month at The Fox. Always a warm welcome and the food and service are always first class.

Went on a Saturday lunch. Very quiet, staff friendly, fast service and food was typical pub grub. I understand it's a cosy country pub, but feel it needs a bit of TLC and a once over with a duster. Would go back.

A lovely pub in a gorgeous rural setting I had a roast dinner hear today with my family unfortunately it was very bland with little taste. There was a incredible amount of beans on my plate with extremely large carrotts which took up most of my plate the roast potatoes where really nice tho .unfortunately there wasn't much room for maybe another due to the beans and carrotts .sadly will have to try something different next time but on a possitive the beer and service brilliant

Popped out for a lunchtime drink. It was lovely and peaceful sitting in the garden. We partook of the nachos with chilli and cheese and a couple of portions of chips, delicious.

Great little local pub and the Sunday roast was out of this world! Huge serving, fresh food and absolutely delicious. Love all the local pints on tap and always a smile and friendly atmosphere. Great walks around and a good one to do from Basingstoke to the pub

Lovely pub, out in the country. Friendly staff, couldn't do enough yo assist, lovely menu and a great meal. On speaking with the landlady, I realised how much effort she was putting in to staying relevant during these Covid times. Well done! They also have maps of great walks around them, which can be viewed and are very welcoming to dogs

The best thing about this lovely country Inn is the Landlady. A very pleasant, cheerful welcoming lady who works hard to make everyone welcome and comfortable. Next is the beautiful decor with a very strong Fox theme. The atmosphere is very relaxing. No football on screens, no fruit machines and definitely no rowdy hooligans.

Outstanding service. Food really excellent. Garden very pleasant.

They have hand sanitiser at the side entrance and the staff were very warm and welcoming. First time to a pub since lockdown and it was a very pleasant experience. All the seating currently is outdoors and there are sprays and towels for each table to clean yourself before and after you use the table, which I thought was good.

Went back again just after they reopened after lockdown. Only the garden is open and the owner has worked hard to make it safe. Garden is great anyway, with views across the fields. The food menu is, as with most pubs, cut down a little but the food was still great. Chips in particular are amazing: really crispy and fluffy inside. Really glad that they are open again.

Booked a table for the pub garden, they are handling social distancing really well. The staff are friendly and the food was delicious!

Ordered father’s day Sunday lunch which was delivered. One was a vegetarian roast and it had sausage with bacon round on it!! Which anyone who is a vegetarian would of been put off the rest of the dinner knowing meat had been on that plate with the other food. Complained and they just said sorry, no refund offered!! Other meals were good but need to take the skin off of the swede!!

Just had our Sunday lunch of roast beef delivered along with dessert of lemon meringue roulade it was absolutely scrummy yummy hats off to the chef 👩‍🍳

Our favourite pub in Hampshire. It's a proper local pub, with a fantastic atmosphere, great food, meat raffle and we hope it stays that way forever.

Chips were cooked more than once and to hard and crispy to eat, tomatoes were green inside and had difficulty in cutting into them so left them on the plate with the chips, gammon steak was the only item worth eating. Liver and bacon was impressive but the whole experience was disappointing we won't be returning, shame in the past land lady did all the cooking it's a shame she didn't today.
