Great selection of ales. nice roast price would of been right if home made yorkies served and with a way thicker gravy than the thin stuff we were given. Nearly there.

I am very surprised that there are good reviews for this horrendous place. It doesn't even deserve one star. We had one of the worst experiences we have ever had in a restaurant. I phoned the day before to confirm that dogs were welcome... I was incorrectly assured they were, but we would have to stay in the bar area. No problem there. On arrival an extremely rude elderly man said that dogs are not allowed on the furniture or in the garden. No greeting or pleasantries. Our two dogs are very small and very well behaved and we arrived with a dog pram showing that we are considerate dog owners, and had not planned to put them on the furniture, which I might add was very uncomfortable and tatty. As for the garden it was a muddy hole, like a bomb crater, containing 2 swings. We were made to feel very very very unwelcome. There were too many shocking incidents to include them all here. We were not asked if everything was ok, or if we wanted anything else. We were just ignored and there were only a couple of other customers there, and they were not eating. The chap who delivered our food to us spilt a drink all over my sons lunch. He didn't even apologise and should have offered to replace the meal. Unfortunately I did not notice. My son told me afterwards. When ordering, I asked if I could swap my fries for thicker chips. I was told I couldn't because I would only get 3 chips!!! Surely someone in hospitality should suggest ordering a side order of chips... We should have left but we had all travelled quite a long way to get there and we didn't know of anywhere else to go locally. Their food is seriously overpriced for the quality and quantity that you get. I wish the person who answered the phone had been honest about dogs not being welcome there, and we obviously would not have chosen to go there. I definitely DO NOT recommend that you waste your money or time going to this awful place.

Lovely relaxed brunch in the new setting at Worting House. New setting is beautiful with all the spring bulbs coming up in the grounds. Café has been tastefully decorated and we had great service from our pleasant young waitresses. Lots of interesting choices on the brunch menu. We had poached egg and avocado on sough dough and bacon and egg French toast. Both delicious. Looking forward to trying more of the choices next time.
