Visited the pelican for some lunch with my dad. It was very quiet and peaceful and nicely decorated. The lady at the bar was really friendly and helpful and took our order promptly. The food was excellent, really tasty and good quality and the service was excellent too. Would highly recommend!

Great local pub and great food.

Lovely food but it took a while. Then again, apparently, we ordered the dish that takes the longest (cottage pie with veg and gravy). It was definitely prepared to order and taste delicious and didn't need the extra gravy. Very friendly, courteous, professional. Really enjoyed lunch - Thank you

Very lovely pub with a good selection of drinks and classic pub food. Nothing was too much trouble, and the staff whom I interacted with, very polite and helpful. Definitely will be coming back.

Went for a few drinks and some food with the family. A real pub with great food and lovely big garden. I had an Angus burger which was superb. The cod and chips was also amazing. Really nice ale too. Very friendly service and a nice locals too. Thank you 😀😀😀

We had an amazing Sunday roast yesterday at The Pelican. This lovely country pub has a big garden, decking area & covered outdoor seating. It was taken over by a new tenant Amy in April and Amy is passionate about good home-made food. She was cooking yesterday and so many people were saying it was the best roast they had in years. Food and drinks are very reasonably priced and the pub is open all week, except Mondays. Dogs are welcome in the bar area and outside areas.

Best roast I’ve ever had in a pub, and I have v high standards :) Also had lunch & dinner on a weekday and equally as impressed! Everything is homemade which is sadly rare these days. Will definitely be back!

Uhhhh... Despite calling 3 times beforehand to make sure my wife could eat, they assured us that she would be fed a Gluten Free Nut Roast. Upon arrival we were told she was to have some sort of soy loaf roast instead and that the nut roast isnt Gluten Free. Not what we had agreed. This wasn't the first time either, the previous time they let us down for the same reason, so we were apprehensive over visiting but we were there for a birthday. If you have dietary requirement, do not trust these people to get your order right. Shame

Good food with real local friendliness

We've experienced two different menu's, Sunday roast, exceptional and Thai xmas menu also very good. The loos are dated but clean and clean is more important in my book. Would definitely return.

I went with my mum for a dessert and coffee after my mum's doctors appointment but had a bad encounter with the waiter. He was very abrupt and didn't seem at all welcoming. I asked if it was okay to sit at the empty table. He said it was okay. Then when I asked for the menu he just came to get the order. I told him I wanted the dessert menu he wasn't too happy and told me that he thought we were going to eat a meal. Then finally brought over the banana cake and coffee and told us we only had half an hour when our table wasn't reserved. I was very unhappy paying my money for such a service. My mum didn't deserve all this.

We went for lunch 2 weeks on the trot. The first was a Friday so we took advantage of the 2 x fish & chips for £20 Friday deal. The following week we decided to try out their Thai menu.....absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. Would recommend both 👌 😋 Friendly staff as well.

This is our 2nd visit to the Pelican Inn with two friends, again we found the Thai food excellent, a little wait whilst the meals were prepared and cooked. Service was good with the help from Charlotte the waitress, friendly and helpful.

Excellent lunch at The Pelican for the family. Delicious English or Thai menu choices which suited our gathering. Service was friendly and attentive. Property has a large covered area for seating outside and a play area for children.

First visit to the Pelican and found it to be welcoming, large carpark, large outside eating area and a safe play area for children. Staff friendly and helpful with a good menu for English and Thai food. Will go again.

Met up with some family food was quite nice

We had a large family gathering and as usual the food was excellent. My favourite is the green curry but we've tried most of the menu in our visits, always spot on.

The food was not very good. The staff were quite good and polite. The food was really slow to come out.

I visited The Pelican today, just me and my 7 year old son. The staff was really friendly and the pub was lovely. Unfortunately I had a bad experience while I was there. Around 4.00pm, I sent my son to go in and get some crisps. I was sat on this table which I have uploaded to this review. I was sat there drinking for around 5 minutes when a man approached me. He came over and said did you know you are sat on the smoking table? You can't eat and drink on this table, you can only smoke there. I was shocked, I said OK I'll go and sit somewhere else. He then said go away because I got funny about his comment. I went and sat somewhere else and looked at all the tables, they all had ash trays on. I also saw everyone smoking at all different tables. His comment didn't really make sense to me and made me feel very awkward. Glad he didn't approach me when my son was with me. Its a shame because I've been to this pub in the past and had a great time.

Visited the Pelican for a roast on Sunday- it was a fantastic visit from start to finish. The food was amazing, and the service was also great! We will most definitely be going back, and would highly recommend.

I visited The Pelican Pub in Tadley with a friend last week and we had a great time. The pub is located in the heart of Tadley, and it has a very traditional and cozy interior. Friendly staff good beer good price

Really nice food, hot and lots a flavour and the kitchen isn't scared of using a bit of spice, I've had a red chicken curry and a chilli con carne and they both had a nice little kick, looking forward to going back.

Friday, fish and chips special. Besides f&c they have an excellent menu with curries and noodle dishes.

Out for lunch with some friends, we all had food from the Thai menu. My chicken with cashew stir-fry was lovely. Everyone else had the Thai green curry that was also very good

Not really a fan of the current menu (November 2022) but we love the outside facilities - it’s great that the garden is fenced in so kids are safe from the car park and can play while you have a cheeky pint. Also a great place to sit outside in wet weather and watch sport events.

Group of 14 went for food and the table was prebooked. Food was delicious, however all served at different times, some had finished their meal before others had been served

We sat outside for a quick lunch - tuna and cheese melt and the double burger - sounds basic but well seasoned, well cooked and really delicious. Served very quickly too. Will pop back again when we’re in the area.

Wow! Absolutely amazing food! Mixed sharer platter, which included the best prawn toasts I’ve ever tasted, is a must. My partner had sticky beef with noodles which was deliciously, must have been a full size steak in that. I had the red king prawn curry, so so tasty. Where do I start on the chips! My mouth is drooling writing this! How I wished I lived closer!

Food was really good, although the mains arrived at the same time as the starters, so when we got to them they were were cold. Would recommend for a meal!

We went to The Pelican for Sunday lunch with family. This is our second visit since moving into the area and both experiences at this pub have been excellent. Food is great, service is fantastic and the garden is lovely, with a nice play area for the kids too. I would thoroughly recommend this pub and will definitely be returning 👍

Lockdown Thai Takeaway Easy to order, specified a pick up time and it was ready and waiting with very little contact, hand sanitiser by the door. Very tasty meal! Much appreciated change to our current diet. Great work, many thanks

We wanted to support a local business during lockdown #2 and had heard good reviews about the Thai food from The Pelican so thought we’d try it. Was NOT disappointed! We ordered the platter and a few mains to share. All were absolutely delicious - beautiful flavours and perfectly cooked. We also loved the recyclable packaging it all came in.Can’t say one negative thing about the take away! Would definitely recommend!

Ordered first takeaway, for delivery, via the app; easy process, text received to advise on way and was delivered piping hot by a lovely member of staff. Food was delicious too!

We had a hour to to wait while our dog had its grooming done. so we went to the pelican, we were impressed with the way the staff were coping with the new track and trace. It was made simple by the staff knowledge of mobile phones, the new nhs app did not recognise their barcode. But this was overcome thanks.

Had a Thai meal at the pelican today with a work colleague from years ago.The meals were absolutely amazing, and the two girls waiting on us were the icing on the cake. Really enjoyed the experience, especially after traveling up from Weymouth.Well done Pelican.

Have to say the Thai chef’s cooking is truly amazing so worth the wait It was part of the government offers on food bills therefore we had a such a treat Everyone wants to eat there in the local village There was some English food on the menu one of our friends doesn’t like Thai therefore the burger was the choice well impressive The other friends were unsure about Thai food we sold it to them and boy were they impressed Maybe there should be some more English meals on menu for other clients food choices However I give praise to the Thai chef delicious food

Recently redecorated and Covid compliant.Pleasant garden when the weather is fine but does have covered outdoor seating for the desperate. Boule Court available. Local group use it Wednesday morning and Friday afternoon.Our Local and we love it.

First time having lunch out after the lockdown and surely it's a great one in here! 😊 We just find this pub from our search on the nearest pub as we are in the area. Great atmosphere and the fact that the chef check on the customer herself deserve an A! We had the sharing platter and the taste were just marvelous. The green curry there just amazing (did ask for extra spicy from the chef and she attend to it). Whoever crave for some authentic Thai food we totally recommend it!

The pub has just reopened after the shutdown period of months and has coped very well with sanitisers all over and seat/table cleaning between occupation. One-way routes operate along with QR codes for pub track and trace OR for ordering/paying at the table. One in one out at loos. Beer up to standard pre lockdown and the kitchen serving high quality ranges. Last Sunday roast was outstanding and the meat succulent with hood fresh veg. More deserts forthcoming. Only missing the rugby not on TV. Staff all courteous given difficult conditions to working routine but customers all welcomed and firstime instructions to help navigate our way around one way system.

Don't be put off by the scaffolding outside the pub - it is still open! This is a local no frills, people and dog friendly pub with excellent food. We had the Thai food and it tasted just as good as when we were in Thailand and very good value for money.We went for lunch and had a chicken Pad Thai £13.50 and a Massaman Curry £14.00 and both were delicious. They went down well with a bottle of Pinot Grigio £14.00. They also do a children's menu (see photos) and a Sunday lunch menu. I would recommend this pub to anyone.
