The Jolly Farmer in Basingstoke and Deane

£4.50 for a small coke and £1.75 for a packet of crisps I’m sure the food maybe nice but as a pub the prices are ridiculous. First arrived and had to stand at the bar for 5mins before being served then got hit with the prices. Won’t be going there again 😱

went here on Saturday and the girls behind the bar ( Alice and Nim ) gave me excellent service i definitely recommend to go & yummy food too

The best Thai Curry i had for a long time , great taste , looks fresh ,and really resonable prices , could eat it everyday !!! The starters are really good also!! Would really recommend visiting .

What a fabulous find!! I had the King Prawn Pad Thai and my husband had the King Prawn Penang Curry and it was incredible!! We ordered 3 starters which were the Squid, gyozas and the Thai fish cakes which again were absolutely lovely!! We can’t wait to come back with the rest of the family and our friends!

We had a lovely family meal at this pub the food was good. The staff were friendly and the drinks were nice. it was clean and all the food came quickly. There are lots of nice parking.

We travelled a hour out to meet family here for a get together before Christmas and so were unsure what to expect. What a fabulous lunch we had. The food was absolutely outstanding. We sampled all of the starters which were all delicious and the Penang and Green curries were among the best I’ve had. The kids cleaned their plates and the fish and chips was also beautifully done. The service was excellent and we really appreciated the Christmas crackers and wonderfully friendly staff and chef. Highly recommended, we will be back!

I really enjoy the food here. I can say they do the best sweet & sour chicken I've ever had, nothing like the low quality stuff from your local chinese takeaway! The other Thai dishes are fantastic too. Looking forward to dining here again.

Really nice green curry, it tasted really fresh and I was very impressed with the beef sandwich. We tried the fried ice cream for the novelty and were pleasantly surprised, it was still frozen in the inside and tasted really great! The owner was nice and had a lovely chat with us. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a nice quick lunch.

Great landlord of a fine country pub with a big car park in a nice village close to Basingstoke. Unfortunately we visited on a Sunday night after food service but experienced a warm welcome and generosity. Hope to return again soon.

We were drawn to this place by the thai menu on offer. On arrival we were warmly greeted by a very pleasant young lady and made to feel extremely welcome. The crackers and sweet chilli dip were very tasty but i would like the sauce to be a bit thicker as it dripped everywhere. Our starters were very tasty and look great. Our main ( Pad thai ) was generous in portion size but lacked in seasoning and flavour and being very stodgy we found it hard to finish.

It was a quiet little pub on the day we went during the holidays. If you like Thai food you must go absolutely fantastic. The staff are lovely and very welcoming. Thank you we will be back!

Good food served hot, prompt service and courteous staff. Nothing to complain in those areas. Not giving five stars as the quantity of the food could have been more generous considering the price.

Came for Mother’s Day and only managed to have our starters. We cancelled the mains as they were taking so long. Our table had already been pushed back which we were fine with, but once we sat down we were ignored and service was very slow. The young lady serving us was apologetic but the man running the place was not at all, he made excuses and was rude. Would not recommend.

Stopped off on the way back from the new forest to London. Very friendly pub with roaring log fire. Very friendly staff, pleasant background music, amazing good. Thai food or English fayre. We had Thai green curry. Prawn crackers, spring rolls, really tasty and reasonably priced. There was also fish and chips, and other English classics in the menu. Highly recommended.

Lovely surprise in a sleepy village on the outskirts of Basingstoke, over the M3. Super food

Beautiful pub had a bit of country side feel. Restaurant filled with customers and we ordered fish and chips, Thai green curry prawns and pad Thai. Starters were very nice but just too expensive, for four small slices of fried squids cost almost £8. Tom yum soup wasn't authentic it tasted like the seasoning powder made. The green curry was tasty but again it wasn't a lot to eat. Fish and chips were alright, crispy battered and chunky chips. As an overall, a pub food service, we would be thinking it could be more generous at this rate. We spent c. £110 for drinks and foods.

Not at all disabled friendly as there is a narrow steep path and several stairs to the pub. No lighting in car park, very dangerous.

Nice pub with nice staff but my friend and I waited an hour and a half for scampi and chips. It was however, very nice when it finally arrived.

Quick pint of Neck Oil, and an Aperol spritz for the wifey, whilst enjoying the sun in a decent beer garden. Quiet but nice enough and would return if in the area.

Could not fault the food, delicious. Booked the Jolly Farmer for our anniversary meal, on the back of another review that actually scored the pub low because they said they " hadn't booked and couldn't get a table in the main building" instantly i thought if this place gets booked up it good! And it is!!!! But as it was full tonight I'd recommend booking! Starters were excellent, i had Chicken satay skewers which were the niciest I've ever tasted. Both mains were great. Only fault was we had a long wait between starter and main, but when the food arrived..... boy it was worth the wait! The pleasant surprise was it was only £6.50 taxi from Basingstoke to the pub too, so i was really glad we left the car at home as the pub serves a really good pint of beer too. We asked for an Irish coffee to finish the evening, the bar staff didn't know how to make it, BUT were kind enough to say they would " have a go". So I was going to score the services as a 4 out of 5 because of the wait , but the friendliness and positive attitude deserves a 5. We will definitely be eating there again.

Wow, just wow. Thai is my favourite food, and I've rarely had it so well done as here. Just absolutely exquisite flavours, definitely one to try.
