The best restaurants in Walberton Arun South East

Beef and pork belly just perfectly cooked,roast potatoes crispy and fluffy inside! Generous portions of meat and lovely gravy! Next level!! All this with an amazing view!

An incredible dining experience, that hasn't faltered once in our experience. Lunch and dinner menus are very well thought out with plenty of local, regional and 'grown on the grounds' produce and ingredients. We've been to this one a couple times and the Pig in the Wall, and Brockenhurst. Enjoyed the tender, fresh cod, various 'picky bits' including a pork dish (these usually deliver!) and a lovely seasonal soup (squash?) with a spicy twist. I always find it difficult to choose between the various picky bits, delicate starters and deliciously well composed mains, and haven't had a bad dessert there either. Lovely grounds around the hotel to explore too, gardens filled with cavolo nero kale, large vegetables, rhubarb and with the locational ambience of the south downs hills, a touch of forest with pheasants calling. Stunning in Autumn as it is in Summer. Went for my birthday and the staff were incredibly attentive and lots of effort to make it extra special, which I much appreciated!

Stayed for one night in the area and found this little gem on Google for breakfast. Really friendly staff and lovely food. We bought some bread and cakes in the shop to take home. Definitely visit again if in the area.

A very disappointing valentines meal. Greeted for our pre-odered 3 course meal by a rude hostess, we were the first to be seated in the restaurant for the night. 25 minuets later, our starter arrived before our drinks ( a complimentary glass of prosecco each and a bottle of tap water). Starters was very bland and the fried item were cold, even though we are one of three parties in the restaurant at this point. Luckily, our mains arrived promptly after our starter. Yet, this consisted of dry and bland chicken. When we finished, it took the staff about 30 minuets to clear our plates. We then continued to wait 20 extra minuets before we gave up waiting for our desert and had to ask 3 times for someone to grab the bill for us. During this time, we started talking to the couple sat next to us who seemed to be having similar issues. Overall, this was a very disappointing meal and no one single memeber of staff appologies for the poor servise.

Brought vouchers for my mum and dad to go for Christmas menu, the went on Sunday 22nd December, we'll they phoned after to say they had an amazing time, food was the best they ever had and they would highly recommend the holly tree, staff were all amazing and helpful. Mum had the deep fried brie starter, dad had the Prawn and scallop vol au vent starter, they both had turkey dinner and profiteroles for pudding. 100% worth the visit.

This was an extremely disappointing experience. The food reviews on TripAdvisor looked okay but we ordered two fish and chips. One portion was fine if a little bit greasy, the other had a very odd taste like disinfectant. We sent this back and they kindly brought another portion of fish but this was pink inside and clearly only partially cooked. By this stage we gave up, and I was surprised that they still wanted us to pay for the one meal that was eaten, given how terrible the overall experience was.

A wonderful stay at this Piggy! Beautiful room, lovely, helpful staff and delicious food. My only niggle was the restaurant and our bedroom was very dark and dimly lit. It was difficult to read the menus in the restaurant and difficult to see for getting ready/dressed in our bedroom. We were also the first guests to take part in a tasting of four English wines in the Pig wine cellar which was so good! Will was very informative and the wine & ambience was delightful. All in all, a fabulous time! 😊

We made an impromptu stop here on a wet and miserable night on the off chance of getting a table. We were welcomed on our arrival and offered a choice of tables. The service was great, the food was excellent and the pub had a lovely atmosphere. Prices were what you would expect - We will definitely return.

What’s happened? Ordered a takeaway and this is nothing like the old food. Noodles, rice seem the same but the meat… everything is considerably worse. Gutted to see this place move into bland microwave zone. Let’s see if this is the end for me here…
