The best restaurants in North West

Was so excited to eat here based on what I had read on the website and expected tapas to be available. Apparently this menu is very out of date and this is not really a food place, just snack type food available. A few people were in drinking but at 7pm on a Friday night it had no atmosphere and the two staff were disinterested. Such a disappointment!

The best sausage roll I’ve ever had, hands down. I also tried their pies, and the pork with chili jam pie was especially impressive. They offer a wide selection of high-quality meats, and the customer service is very warm and welcoming. On busy days, there’s often a long queue in front of the shop, and the food tends to sell out quickly. Parking is available along the roadside, which is quite convenient.

Fish and chips and a drink £6 and it was excellent.

Good pub good atmosphere

Very small venue, so can get a little cramped, with strict timings on table reservations, but worth it for great cocktails and well-chosen wines.

Went for breakfast which was mixed - my wife had the smoked salmon which she very much enjoyed but my son and I had the full English which I have to say was disappointing primarily down to the bacon which was more like a cut of belly pork - I know some people will like this but I think most people would prefer normal bacon - by the time we’d cut off the huge amount of fat there was barely any bacon left - service was good and the place is nice but if you don’t like fat avoid the full English !!!

Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff.

It was my first time visiting the restaurant. After reading the reviews earlier, I asked about the waiting time before placing my order through the app, which showed 40 minutes. The waitress assured me it wouldn't take that long and mentioned that the wait time also depended on the food I ordered. I double-checked with the waitress after I placed order. she said it would take only 10–15 minutes. However, after 30 minutes, it was still not ready—or even close—when I returned to check on my daughter, who was waiting. The waitress apologized, saying they had big orders to prepare, yet the number of guests remained the same as when we first arrived. By the way, neither the first-order discount nor the takeaway discount was applied. I ended up canceling the order as it was nearly 9 p.m. This place truly tests your patience if you have a goal. First and last visit for me. Before I left the restaurant, the staff confirmed that the order had been cancelled. After a week, I could only see the charge for the order—no refund. I called the restaurant, and it turned out the refund was never processed. Another test of patience.

We'd booked a table for a Friday night on arriving it was a disappointing experience staff uninterested they didn't even approach us to show us to a table, the table we got was not clean, there was no atmosphere, we walked out.very disappointed

We had a quick dinner here on the last night of our holiday in Ballycastle. We didn’t have a booking but the staff were very accommodating and got us a table quickly. Food was absolutely fantastic. My Rib-eye steak and my wife’s Sirloin were perfectly cooked. Loved it. Thanks to Anthony, our guide at the Giants causeway, for the recommendation.

Fantastic king prawn and linguine. Amazing porcini and tomato spaghetti. Tiramisu was very good. Lovely, warm and friendly welcome and knowledgeable about the food served. Excellent chef.

What a place! Great real ales, excellent home made pasties and open fires . There's also an impressive mead selection and commodes for chairs. Great place for a lazy pub day with the dog

Me and my partner decided to try this place since it had very good reviews and was relatively close to where we’re staying. To begin with the staff was quite rude which we ignored since anyone can have a bad day. The duck was ok, dry but edible but little did we know the worst was to come. The special fried rice tasted burnt and had massive egg shells in it! We couldn’t even finish it. The chow mein had a very odd taste and again we couldn’t even finish it. It was a complete disappointment and a waste of money!! Would never comeback and would absolutely never recommend going there, in my opinion shouldn’t even be opened it’s an absolute health and safety hazard.

Great chippy serving excellent quality food and staff always friendly. Highly recommended, been going here for years 👌
