We came in when it was empty - but the staff were very friendly, and the menu was good and clear.. Food was fantastic! Sag aloo, lamb dupiaza, chicken madras, mushroom rice, keema naan... Everything! Great beer too.. I recommend this place heavily!
We popped in here for some hot drinks and cakes on a cold January day. I’m glad we did. The cakes were wonderful, and very generous portions. The hot drinks were excellent too. They also do a wide variety of sandwich fillings, which I will definitely try next time. This place is a just a few metres walk across the Grosvenor bridge, and is well worth seeking out as its a hidden gem.
Spontaneous decision as places were closing, lovely lady, fresh bagels and good flat white coffee.
Returned over the weekend with family members keen to sample the bubble tea . Friendly service again.
La comida era increíble que Amy hizo la comida estaba recién hecha el personal era increíble te hizo sentir como familia Definitivamente voy a volver y la próxima vez hacer un video sobre el lugar la comida y el personal 120 % de mí alias Shaun
I’m gutted to hear that Black Leaf is closing but very happy to hear that they’re relocating! The food we had was part of a midweek deal they had in November.
When we arrived, which was quite early, it was so quiet that we were the only ones in the restaurant for a while, which felt weird. This place deserves to be busy all the time!
My first ever review on here ! I don’t normally write reviews but
this little gem of a place needs a mention!
Lovely warm welcome by the owner and her small team, met with proper coffee and a superb lunch - I had Welsh rarebit and my friend had the poached eggs on toast - both done to perfection!
I don’t even like coleslaw, but decided to try it after my friend said how nice it is - it didn’t disappoint, you can tell it’s all freshly made by the big give away of them making everything in front of you fresh to order.
We took home some scones and tray bakes for our families- they went down an absolute treat!
Apologies for the gushing first post, but when you find somewhere that’s as welcoming, and great food, you want to support them, especially with it being an independent business.

Hey you… yes you reading this… have you not tried this fish & chip shop yet? Why not? Drop in for a fantastic fish, succulent sausage, beltin burgers and champion chips. My recommendation is a fish barm with a thin spread of mushy peas layered between. Don’t just take my word for it, get yourself down there. You won’t be disappointed. 😋

Will cook, can't cook, needs a chef, everything over cooked, no way is the guy chucking stuff over heat a trained chef or even just a chef is a stretch, tables uniformly set out, nice to see cleaning stuff in the corner next to industrial steel table, ruins the woody look its failing to achieve, sorry but to anyone that knows food it is pretty awful, staff nice enough though.
We have no words to describe the food as it never arrived to the table. We ordered the food and were waiting for about 50 minutes before we decided to leave the place. On our way out no one asked us anything and I doubt if they even noticed. The restaurant wasn’t even full.
Definitely not going back there or recommending to anyone.
The pianist was good.

Great fish and chips. Perfectly cooked fish with light, crispy batter and the chips were good too and it's not often these days that I find good chippy chips, these are the right combination of soft and fluffy but still crispy with exactly the right amount of oiliness. It loses a star because they charge you more to eat in but you also get a smaller portion and it should be one or the other

One of my favourite restaurants in Manchester, great classic Brazilian food which you'd recognise from Sao Paulo but done in a way that's all her own. The food tastes great, the caipirinhas are lovely and if you're into wine or fancy trying cachaças you'll be fine there too. We've brought friends here multiple times and each time it hits the mark!
