I have been to Scrando's many times and it never fails. Whether you are on a pub crawl or a family looking for a place to eat that will actually accommodate kids (rare in Hoylake) then this place is a real gem.
The menu is tailored to be American Fast Food but there are often specials in addition to the main menu, likewise there are often themed days that kids love added into the mix (see facebook). For those on a budget they often do deals and on this particular day when I went, my youngest ate for a quid which included a burger, fries and a fruit shoot. Likewise, we had the four beers for £12 deal which in the summer is brilliant value.
It's one of the best eateries in Hoylake. Granted many will go to pubs or restaurants if they are going out with friends but for those that want a quick bite or looking for a place that actually wants kids there, this place is not to be missed.
Went to Cafe Kava yesterday for a coffee and snack I had the toasted tea cake with jam and butter. It was huge.
The cafe is spotlessly clean and the service was quick. It is opposite Matalan and you could walk past it as there is not a lot of display to show it is there. It is a meeting place for locals and staff.
Would I go again yes.
Park in Matalan and walk across.
Good range of teas and coffe.
We love it here we like to walk on the beach at West Kirby and we always end up here @ Sweet Pea cafe never disappointed yet menu is good as is selection
We have been meaning to go to this restaurant for a long time, but I was never sure I would like the cuisine. We decided to bite the bullet and booked on a weekend evening. It was busy and there were a few large groups.
There was plenty to choose from the menu. We chose 3 tapas each. It arrived fresh and hot. There was a bit of waiting but they were busy and as long as it's worth waiting for, we don't mind that.
The portions were big for me. In retrospect I would choose two next time and maybe a side dish. Nice for a special occasion, we will definitely return.
A real gem in West Kirby! We loved Aubergine Café so much, we visited twice during our stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home as soon as we walked in. The café itself is a beautiful, airy space with a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
The coffee was excellent, and the food was just as impressive—everything fresh and full of flavor. But the real standout? The cake! Absolutely delicious, with a great selection that made it hard to choose (so we didn’t—we came back for more!).
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a warm, quality café experience in West Kirby. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!
Excellent Sunday Roast at The Olive Tree. We shared the delicious roast mushroom pate (homemade) which came with sourdough toast and caramelised onion chutney. A generous portion. We had a roast beef and a roast pork. It arrived with plenty of roast potatoes, accompanied by vegetables, Yorkshire pudding and gravy. The meat was beautifully cooked
as were the veggies. Good choice of wines, beers and cocktails. A relaxed atmosphere, the restaurant was nearly full. People enjoying their lunches and the warm hospitality. Jane, was very friendly and attentive to all her customers, as was the waitress. I would recommend a visit to The Olive Tree to enjoy delicious food which is great value for money and wonderful service.

Didn't eat so didn't rate food. Lovely pub great original features and friendly staff. Reasonably priced drinks. Amazing beer garden space that is a lovely sun trap. Lots of events throughout the week and screens showing sports. Lots of places to sit.
