I visited the cafe for a brief meeting with a client. Due to being on medication and having a hospital appointment later in the day, I wasn’t able to eat or drink anything, and my client doesn’t drink coffee. We ended up getting caught up in our conversation and, admittedly, didn’t order anything — something I take full responsibility for.
However, I was really shocked by the way the situation was handled. The staff member on duty chose to publicly call me out in front of the entire cafe, stating loudly that I hadn’t bought anything. I immediately apologised and offered to place an order there and then, but was instead told to leave.
I completely understand the cafe has policies, but the way it was addressed felt extremely unprofessional and embarrassing, especially in front of a client. I’ve never experienced anything like it and felt very uncomfortable with how the situation was handled.

We used to love coming here as the service is fantastic from Collette & Paula the food went down hill very fast so we stopped going but loved the girls here so we returned yesterday Collette was fantastic as always but the food was disgusting I had burger & chips which was a cheap frozen burnt burger no bacon no dirty chips I couldn’t eat it my husband ordered the Fish & Chips large it was minuscule and the fish was a rectangular frozen fish with 10 super greasy chips. The kitchen is filthy & smells of old burnt fat which we could all taste. AVOID this restaurant it’s over priced and disgusting!
This place gets some stick on here but it’s mostly local politics surrounding the old owner regretting the sale.
Platform One is primarily a train station bar with a warm welcome and great drinks. The weekend you can see a mix of DJs playing classic tunes and live acts singing the same.
Good has been withdrawn after utilities, food and labour costs couldn’t be met Romiley’s village folk feeling cost of living pinch.
Closure of the theatre for nearly 12 months dismal harm to the night life scene too.

We absolutely love The Italian and we’ve been several times since moving to Romiley in summer 2024. Delicious food which offers great value for money. The portion sizes are always generous. Can’t fault the service - the staff have always been incredibly friendly and welcoming. We love The Italian and will continue to support this fab local business!

At 10.40 they won't serve you any more, apparently they're cleaning up! What's the point of a bar where you go for a drink after a meal if it closes so early??
Wow couldn’t believe the way the guy spoke on the phone when I tried to order a pizza .He rudely said I was taking over him and he couldn’t get a word in when he asked what I wanted,I said I had already told him but replied I was talking over him !
I said excuse me and he replied well if you weren’t talking !
I ended the call with not ordering any food due to the attitude and rudeness of the staff ,you have just lost a regular customer 🤬🤬
Consistently excellent. Great range of breads, cheese, deli hams & meats, all kinds of sauces, chutnies etc sourced locally & internationally. High quality wines reasonably priced. Superb coffee!
Friendly, helpful staff.

Best brewery tour with the best tour guide. Gary is incredibly knowledgeable while being very entertaining and engaging. Very sad that the old brewery is closing but this company has a great heritage of investing in the future while being mindful of their history. I’m also delighted to hear that the shire horses will continue their work after moving to the new brewery site.
