I stumbled upon this little deli as I was being taken to lunch by friends. Great selection of stuff with some unusual foods that you don’t see often. I bought some bits including a brown sourdough loaf and some Brie which was delicious. It’s a place I’ll be calling to but goodies anytime I’m passing.

We are not exactly locals and stumbled upon this shop after a walk in the park. Small shop, some interesting cheese related products on display. Within minutes while we were looking around, two female staff members without masks came very near us, not asking things like "can I help you?" but following us very very near thinking perhaps we are shoplifters??? Two male staff appeared through the back door. I made the mistake of buying something, never again! Asked about a cheese and received a 2 word answer in a sharp unfriendly manner describing the taste of it. There should be a sign at the entrance "New customers are not welcome".

Treated my parents to a hamper as a small thank you for their help this year to enjoy over the festive period. I love that you can choose the contents rather than ending up with items which will sit in your cupboard for the rest of the year. Gave some suggestions & asked for recommendations for the remainder. Didn’t disappoint, parents thoroughly enjoyed & it was also delivered which makes life so much easier. Thanks Dutsons.

Myself and my husband love Dutsons and have been visiting for years, we've never been disappointed! Today, I visited it as a Deli and was not disappointed. The choice was excellent as expected. The quality is always of the highest standard. It is clear that each item has been selected with the utmost care. We ate the majority of the produce as a picky tea which was excellent. There wasn't a sound from our 5 year old which is testament to the food. We've got some treats left over in the cupboard too. The owners, Matt and Paul, were cheerful, polite and accomodating as always. The sandwiches sound amazing, hopefully I'll be in time for one next time as they'd understandably sold out. I couldn't recommend Dutsons more. They are an excellent business who deserve to do well.

I'm a regular customer at the weekend for lunch or brunch. The food is usually good, expensive and cold at times, but the service has always been haphazard. Today though i was so annoyed, I've vowed never to return. Three weeks ago, i asked if they could cater for Vegans (irritating to have to ask but there's nothing on the menu - 2020????) as my daughter is a vegan. I was assured that was no problem, merely to ask upon arrival for the options. Today, my daughter, home for a break, asked what the vegan options were. She was greeted with a blank look. She was forced to leave, I'm not vegan by any means but respect the choices of others. We seek out vegan options carefully to save awkwardness and plan ahead and i'd purposely ASKED three weeks before. I was cross and phoned to complain, asking for the owner, I was told he 'wasn't in' I asked when would he be back, i was told, she didn't know what was it regarding? I replied that she wasn't the owner and I wanted to speak to them. She replied, 'there's no need to be rude.' I said, 'i'm not being rude, merely blunt, there's a difference'. With that, she spoke to the person BESIDE her saying 'this lady is angry and wants you' Why on earth didn't she hand the phone over on request? More, offensively bad '.service' I presumed. I asked the owner why she'd lied and he said 'I've no idea, I was here in the back'. I explained my issue and he said it was no problem to do a vegan alternative, I said why didn't you 2 hours ago then? He blustered and flustered and offered not the slightest apology. Possibly, they''l come on here and reply with excuses and untruths but this is EXACTLY what happened and it's rubbish service/customer care. I live in this village, they're a disgrace and the food is average at best. I won't be back - no loss.

Read the reviews. Expected it to be wonderful. Just another greasy spoon being bigged-up by friends. All the servers seemed to be in some sort of youth clique, determined to ignore all but the most demanding calls for attention. It didnt matter whether you want salt or the bill. It was easier to go to the counter and do it yourself.

We opted for 2 courses at £20 which seemed good value, however £3 surcharge for the cheeseboard. We were expecting great cheeses for this extra charge but were sadly disappointed as they all tasted bland as they were straight out of the fridge. Should have been at room temp! The morrocan lamb with couscous was lovely. Will visit again but not for cheese.

Called in for breakfast and on first impressions of the place was somewhat hopeful that the food would live up to its reviews... WRONG! The sausage was undercooked and tasteless, the bacon tasted burnt, the beans (in cute little pan, burnt on the bottom) the toast almost ripped out the lining of my throat! There was no check back and the price of the whole thing (two breakfasts and three drinks? Well over £25.00!!!) I expected more... On a positive; the front of house staff were lovely and the hot chocolate divine. The ambience was great but the food was an utter let down...come on Dutsons lift you game!...

The little village of Marple Bridge boats a number of first class eateries, each with their own excellent something to offer. If I were to have to vote on the best, then Dutsons gets the top marks. My children love it here and the ice cream from Cheshire Ice Cream Farm is delicious. They give you a good portion of it too unlike other places. It would be nice if they offered a smaller children's cone or tub as my little one wants his own but struggles to eat more than half. There's not much room if you have a buggy and it's very awkward to navigate in up the steps and into the shop or cafe and the highchairs aren't safe as don't have straps but fine for older ones on foot. They have moved all the boxes from shop floor that were a trip hazard which is great. I hope they don't run out of cones and tubs like they did over the winter so that we can continue to enjoy the ice cream all year round. They serve it in tea cups in the cafe which is great fun for children and grown ups alike.

Enjoyed a leisurely breakfast this morning at Dutsons in Marple Bridge. We both had tea, a lovely breakfast tea available to buy and recommended. I had the bubble 'n' squeak with bacon and poached egg. I like my eggs hard not runny and so many place can't seem to get this right but here they were perfect. My partner had the sausage barm and said it was lovely. The staff were really customer focussed and when they had to ask you something, they apologised for interrupting. This is a relatively small restaurant with six or seven tables so there may be a wait for a table but it is well worth it. We will be going again, it's reasonably price and the food is great quality. I have been taking my children here after school for ice cream for some time. We all love that they serve the ice cream in tea cups when you sit at a table as opposed to in the window. However in the autumn they ran out of cones and said they wouldn't be having any more in until the spring/summer, and then they ran out of tubs so the children were disappointed not to be able to get a take away ice cream to take to the park. To make matters worse they then ran out of their favourite ice cream flavour. Ice cream issues aside, the highchairs aren't safe for little ones as haven't got straps and there are boxes piled up by the doorway and display units which make trying to access the cafe with a buggy very difficult and presents a trip hazard for everyone. The hot chocolate is lovely though!

My fiancé & I live literally around the corner from Dutsons, yet having moved to the area some time ago, still hadn't gotten around to trying this lovely looking little deli. Today we did, unfortunately I wished we hadn't. Bobbed in for lunch: all seemed well, my partner ordered the pulled pork sandwich and I ordered a Greek salad. In fairness, I must say that his dish looked delicious and he actually really enjoyed his, but mine was ridiculous. The salad itself was ok, as far as salads go... Not the best Greek salad I've ever had but nothing specifically wrong with it- my issue here is with the portion size; for £6.95 it was shameful, absolutely minuscule, barely any salad, crumbs of feta cheese and what liked like 3 olives chopped into tiny pieces to make it look as though there were more! I'm not a big girl, I'm a slim size 8, so I don't take a lot of filling and wasn't expecting anything massive, but this was absolutely minuscule- I've never seen anything like it! It was laughable! (I wish I'd taken a picture) There was literally nothing to it, I was so amazed at such a tiny portion size I had to say something- suffice to say I finished the salad in less than minutes (and I'm a slow eater), when the server came over to take our plates (when my partner had also finished) she asked if everything was OK, it was at this point that I politely explained that I was amazed with the minuscule portion size of my salad and couldn't quite believe they were charging 6.95 for this! The server we spoke with made some feeble excuses and that was that. Incredible! Any decent establishment that values their customers would've offered to take this off the bill, we certainly weren't expecting that necessarily, but the portion size I received was quite unbelievable, and I clearly expressed my dissatisfaction towards this, so bearing that in mind, I would've thought, as a goodwill gesture, the least they might've done is taken our drinks off the bill or something, but no, we were charged in full and no alternative replacement was offered.Suffice to say we will never be returning here and certainly wouldn't recommend to our friends & family. Such a shame as what could've been dealt with very simply and very inexpensively (from a business point of view) means that Dutsons have lost two lovely local customers and potentially quite a lot of business from others! FYI- just to make you aware of your competition in the area, All Things Nice (in Marple), less than a mile up the road, offer an amazing Greek salad at exactly the same price, it's actually served on a proper plate, rather than a teeny tiny wooden cheese board, you get about 5 times the 'handful' portion size I received today, no shortage of feta, oregano and actual olives (rather than measly pieces of chopped olives)... To accompany this, a generous chunk of beautiful bread & butter on the side to go with. Nothing of the sort here! We'll stick to All Things Nice in future, I suggest you do the same.

So often soup is a disappointing choice but not in Dutson's. I make my own soup at home so it's hard to impress me but this soup did! The service is excellent and the staff well trained. The deli has a wide range of interesting and different goods. The cheeses are really good and the charcuterie excellent- the morcilla is particularly good. You can receive good advice on the wine and beer. They will also order in special items for local people. This is well worth a visit.

Great lunch, had lots of dietary issues at the time so had a plain chicken salad - just lettuce, thinly cliced tomato and chicken - looked dull but was so tasty! They obviously ise great quality ingredients. Would highly recommend.

Went for a midweek lunch. Place is quite intimate with about 7 tables, we were lucky and 1 table cleared as we went in. Menu choice was good with reasonable pricing. Service was acceptable for lunchtime fayre. What we found quite poor was the cleanliness of the toilet. Only 1 shared by both sexes which was fine considering the number of diners. Note up saying it had been cleaned by Paul (I think) both the day we were in and the day previous. Best to say his standards were not mine. Made we wonder about kitchen standards. I think if you want to charge quality prices, all parts of the service should be of a similar standard. That said we will go back in the hope that toilet issue was a one off. They won't get a 3rd chance

We were staying nearby and my relatives brought us here for a late breakfast .Nice refaxing place to eat, in great location. Extensive breakfast menu. I had club sandwich, consisting of bacon, sausage and egg plus black pudding .As a side I had bubble & squeak .The others had various other breakfast dishes. I had 2 flat whites which were really good. My breakfast was really tasty, the bubble and squeak, perhaps a little bit too much potato at the expense of other veg! However still tasty and I have to say that they served the best black pudding I have ever had-seasoned to perfection! Customer service relaxed and friendly and very flexible in what you can add to your breakfast.Overall excellent

We booked this restaurant for a party of 10. We had previously selected our fare without knowing what it may be like. The food (and with a party of 10 the food range varied) was excellent and covered 3 courses plus an alcoholic drink included. The staff did a great job and the service was great. Located in a newly done up building I did find the atmosphere was a bit loud and noisy (for the older members of our party) but with such great food I would return again. Dutsons is a café and delicatessen by day.

We actually went to Marple Bridge to go to Libby's for lunch, but it being bank holiday Monday Libby's was closed, so we decided to try Dutsons instead. What a very happy accident that was! The food was fantastic, my husband and I both gave it 10/10!We often share our meals, each having half of the other's when there is good choice on the menu, and this being the case here we went for the mushroom stroganoff on toasted artisan bread (served with salad and cherry tomatoes) and the smoked salmon on a potato cake made with garden peas and filled with melting cheese. Both were delicious and we enjoyed every mouthful. Just the right amount too, not too large a portion for lunch time. The service was friendly and efficient and we had cappuccino and Earl Grey tea to drink, both of which were served hot, we are not keen on receiving drinks that have to be drunk immediately before they go cold. All in all a very pleasant visit and we look forward to returning to try some of the other delights on the menu!

This was our first visit to Hayfield and wandered into Dutsons with the intention of having a drink and maybe something to eat depending the menu. It was around 18:30 so it wasn't too busy.A few people stood at the bar, one particular guy was acting like he was the owner as he was hugging people as they arrived. One woman he was hugging started to talk to him so I was first to the bar, she soon turned around to me and made it known that she was there first, not very politely. So myself and partner patiently stood and waited. Another barman was at the bar but seemed to be bus doing something but not serving, tried to catch his eye with no luck. As soon as another couple came in behind us he was very attentive to them and served them. We found this very odd, had we become invisible? Still stood there waiting with not one second of eye contact from the bar staff. So we walked out. Both of us are involved in customer service training so we weren't desperate to make a point or eat or drink there. A very surreal experience.I was looking forward to sampling one of an impressive looking variety of lagers, Budvar, Estrella for example. A bad customer service without being able to comment on the food or drink as we never got the opportunity. Shame.

We have visited this Restaurant on two occasions, the 21st July and 18th August. We didn't book in advance but this would probably be necessary at weekends. Both times we enjoyed lovely meals from an imaginative menu, and very nicely presented. A special mention for the waiting on staff who were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. A nice touch is that we were given homemade grissini bread sticks and a dip on the first occasion, and bread and oils on the second. Between courses they brought an unusual taster dish of Beetroot Panna cottaStarters were priced from £6 to £9.50, Mains from £15 to £20 and Desserts £7 to £10. Sides are ordered separately at £3.50 eachWill definitely visit again.

We were pleased to see the sister cafe of Dutsons open in Hayfield as it is more convenient for us and the parking is better than in Marple Bridge. We have been a couple of times now, last time we had the Spanish Lunch ,a platter of chorizo, black pudding from Leon, serrano ham and spanish potatoes. It veers towards the expensive side but the quality is there. I wish them every success in Hayfield.

This is my third attempt at review as my tablet keeps freezing, but I am determined to get this review done. I visited the Hayfield restaurant on July 15th and July 17th for coffee. On each occasion staff were very sincere, welcoming and efficient. The young waitresses are happy and hard working. Thank you for the delicious deli samples given out by a lovely lady. Shame I couldn't eat here as menu looks great. Very friendly and affable young man behind bar on the Sunday visit. I will be back.

If you are expecting a traditional old school type of deli then Dutson's Hayfield won't disappoint. The menu is full of meat and cheese dishes. I was hoping however that I could expect something different from Dutsons 2nd Deli in the area. Quite a number of Deli's now cater for Vegetarian's, Vegans. Even the beans on Toast in Dutsons has chorizo in it. If you are a vegi that also can not eat dairy then probably best to avoid eating here. There were some great vegetarian and vegan deli pop up cafes at Eroica Britannia, Bakewell the other week. There are also some great Deli's in Ludlow that include a small range of Vegi dishes. As I said disappointing that this young enterprise isn't following the trend.

We have eaten at their sister in Marple Bridge on many occasions, breakfast/lunch is always the highest quality and enjoyable. Booked for dinner at Hayfield this evening and were not disappointed. Starters of roast cod cheeks and black and white pudding wellington, followed by sea bream and chicken supreme. In addition we enjoyed little cups of pea soup and voloute of leak and potato between courses. Puddings chosen were chocolate delice and the coconut panna cotta which came with an unexpected milk bottle of pina colada. Super atmosphere in the restaurant, food excellent and very good service. We have booked again. High recommended for a good night out.

Wow! Fancied something different- and we weren't disappointed. Lovely take out menu- halloumi taco bowl and sweet potato fries. Out of this world- fresh, tasty and generous portions. May have found a new favourite.

Went to the spread eagle end of October for my dads 80th. The service was slow, food service slow, not everyone got their drinks at the same time. Was my first time here after driving from west yorkshire. The food was ok, nothing special at all, expensive for what it was, £15.50 for lasagna and a bit of salad and and bread. The lasagna pasta was a little tough as i would say not cooked or prepped properly. The set of tables they pulled together were all different heights. Main thing is, my parents enjoyed it. Would we go back, no. Far more better places to go.
