Took friends of ours here on the 12th of April, food excellent, service fabulous especially Ibby, hope I've spelt it correct, 11 of us enjoyed poppadoms, main meals and drinks for approximately £36 each, all the meals were hot and came together, so organised, takeaways fab as well, do not miss, all of our party enjoyed the meals and commented on the staff and food

Edit: both my friend and I became unwell after this. We both had the risotto. Ordered the risotto...cold parts and scalding parts as well as part soft/hard rice. Server asked if we were enjoying the good, I said no and asked if it was microwaved, she said no. Told her it was tasteless and even bit more cheese would make it taste of something...was brought a small bowl of hard cheese...was not going to help the taste bless her. Poor customer care and very poor value for money.

I’ve just come off the phone with the manager. Who was shockingly unhelpful, patronising and unapologetic. I had my 33 year old brothers funeral wake there and it was awful. I paid £870 for room and gold buffet. People came in to a cold dark unlit room. The memory table was not set up. The staff were miserable, unhelpful and rude. There was no music on in background. The atmosphere was terrible. The buffet was awful and was put out late after prompting. There was a lady standing guard of the buffet doling out tiny portions. I was incredibly awkward. At one point she told me off for trying to serve myself some hotpot. The sandwiches were dry and cheap. They did not lay out enough for 50 people. When I complained - I was told they would have made more if more was needed. There was a couple of pieces of tiny chopped up cheap cake. That is not what I paid for. People would not believe I paid £870 for this and more importantly my brothers wake ruined. I will never set foot in the place again.

We held my Mum's 80th birthday celebrations at the Mansion House. The venue is first class and the staff superb. They really did go the extra mile for us. We had just over fifty guests, and afternoon tea was lovely. I am from St.Helens and proud of my home town even if I don't live there, but all my family do. Please be proud of this lovely venue.
