The best restaurants in Windermere Bowness South South Lakeland North West

Restaurant has a great location right next to the lake. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Food was very tasty and at a reasonable price. Portions are large( battered fish is huge) I would recommend this restaurant if visiting Bowness.

I loved this place. The food was super fresh and super tasty. This is a small place with limited seating but I recommend giving it a try you won't be disappointed.this was just what I was looking for. Healthy tasty and friendly. Wish it was closer to home I would use it all the time.

We had a great evening at Lago. Their meat and cheese charcuterie board was excellent with a great selection of produce. We loved their extensive drinks menu and I have to call out their excellent margaritas! A great spot!

I loved this colourful little café, but unfortunately I had to mark them down as I think something must have been burnt shortly before we arrived, and my eyes are so sensitive that within a few minutes my eyes were stinging and streaming. I had a fabulous hot chocolate, and my son really enjoyed his burger. I would have liked to have stayed longer but my eyes were so sore (and it was too cold to sit outside) that I just wanted to leave. Staff were fantastic, and I feel terrible that I couldn’t give them the 5 stars that they deserve.

Tucked away from the main drag in Bowness it’s a little delight. Hand made sandwiches to order and delicious looking cakes. Amazing value as well. Definitely worth making the effort to find it.

The ice cream flavours here at Rileys are fantastic! Love every flavour and I'm a picky Vanilla enjoyer They also have 4 Paws Ice Cream for the pups! Gluten and sugar free - perfect for the furbabies! My dogs loved it! 🍦😋

I go there in my first time trip in last week. I spend 2 hours and take some beer with my partner. We really enjoy the time. I'll come here again.

What a gem!! Me & my partner grabbed 2 turkey bacon sub rolls from here for lunch, they were £4.50 each and they were awesome! You never get value for money like that these days, it was fresh, warm and massive, a 10/10 sandwich. Even better after a big walk in the fells. Will return often i’m sure! Friendly warm service too. Again another lovely time at the Bistro, Storrs Hall. If you are passing here , call in. Whether it be for a coffee,or a glass of wine on the beautiful outside terrace . afternoon tea, lunch or dinner. Last night was fabulous. And Erazmus made or evening. Thank you Storrs.

Super easy to get to. Cafe opposite also. I went during torrential rain and the trail was only ightky slippery but waterlogged. The waterfall was very powerful so I'd rwxommenr it during wet weather

We didn't have a booking but they managed to fit us in and were so pleased. The menu was excellent with wide variety of choices. The starters were particularly hard to choose from , so I had 2 starters . ! Food was excellent - really good especially for the price . Good wine selection too

We managed to get a table at the last minute and I am so glad we did! Fabulous food, great atmosphere and very attentive staff. I would definitely recommend!

We were a part of 10 who booked a table at Villa Positano, for a Christmas get together. We were not disappointed! The restaurant has a very authentic feel about it and the staff were very attentive throughout the meal. The food was of a very high standard - my lobster and crab pasta was absolutely delicious - and the complementary garlic, cheese and tomato bread when we arrived was a nice addition to the meal. We all agreed that it was one of the nicest authentic Italian meal we have had outside of Italy! We would have no hesitation in recommending the restaurant to others and will certainly return next time we are in area,

After reading such great reviews on Tripadvisor we took ourselves for a meal here. My husband had butter chicken curry which had about 5 small pieces of chicken and a very watery butter sauce. My biriyani was warm and a bit bland. We couldn’t chew the chapati so left it. A pricey and very very disappointing visit . A coke and water…and the bill was still over £63. Waiter was nice.
