Taylors of Bowness in South Lakeland

We got sandwiches from here a few years back, remembered it was good so went back and it was just as tasty this time! I also got a salad which was so nice and very fresh. The staff are lovely and helpful. Great place to grab some food for on the go.

The best in bowness, if you looking for fresh home cooked lunch look no further. we won’t go anywhere else!

RATS running wild! I filmed a rat running around by the left-hand side of this place, it made repeated appearances so mentioned this to someone who works there. Sure enough the rat made yet another appearance. They were faintly amused, feigned unawareness of the problem and continued with their job. Surely prompt action should be taken to remove the health risk and avoid further infestation, but I have no faith after today’s experience, very poor attitude.

My wife and I grabbed lunch from this deli whilst on holiday. They have a wide selection of subs and salad boxes, which is great. We ordered two different turkey subs and whilst they were good, they were pretty dry. They would benefit from having some more butter. Would go again but would probably choose a different sub or have one of the delicious looking salad boxes.

Found this amazing takeaway place today. Great service. Got two meatball sandwiches and oh man, the extra sauce, delicious! And we got two salads - cous cous and orzo. Amazing prices. Definitely going back for more!

Called into here everyday during our recent visit to the Lakes. the sandwiches are freshly made to order using quality ingredients, also really good value for money as portions are generous. The couple who run the place are really friendly.

Fresh. Tasty. Reasonably priced. It’s like a Subway, but cheaper and much posher and healthier! I was spoilt for choice with the sandwiches, nothing was too much trouble, they had a set list of sandwhiches which they make, but were happy to make them up to whatever we wanted.

Don't be put off by there being no parking as there's a car park next door and if you cruise around we parked for free in side streets

Absolutely delicious sandwiches! Got a warm Cumberland sausage & fried onion sandwich, club sandwich & beef sandwich. All made fresh to order in front you of. Staff very friendly! Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a tasty, filling and well priced lunch!

Wow, we collected lovely sandwiches and soup for a picnic. Soup was carrot and parsnip, so tasty. Sandwiches fantastic, lovey cheese selection and chutney in sandwiches was delicious. Hot beef sandwich also lovey, one of our favourite lunches of our holiday, wish we had got lunch there every day. Really good value highly recommend.

Really tasty food, great value for money, exceptional customer service, my go to when visiting Windermere.

Fabulous soups and sandwiches, vegan/gluten free options and a friendly welcome. We had vegetable dahl and sweet corn chowder soups and they were fantastic, really wholesome and home made quality. Great prices too and a cut above the sparse choice of good food in the go places in Windermere. The Cumberland sausage in a long roll with fried onions for £3.75 was a bargain, top quality sausage!

Fab little deli with friendly staff and great food. I had pastrami with Dijon mayo, Gouda, and pickles; fantastic, with decent amount of pastrami too. Also, the brownie was amazing!

Looked around to find somewhere to get something to eat, so pleased we found this place, absolutely delicious sandwiches and soup, picked up some drinks and crisps, and ate our picnic by the lake. The shop was so clean, staff so friendly, food really good value and yummy. Thinking of going back to the Lakes just to go back there!

Prime location and surprisingly good value for money, had the house special turkey, Chilli jam, cheese and jalepino cold sandwich. Portion sizes are great, flavour is full and fresh and service was spot on. Can't fault them at all.

Called in here to pick up a picnic, the food was absolutely delicious. Fresh carved beef and salad sandwich and a delicious quiche with a variety of fresh salads… slaw, potato and bean. Followed by the most moreish brownie… perfect, fresh food

A medium sized shop with plenty of choice of foodstuffs. The shop was very clean and the staff pleasant and helpful. Scrummy well filled rolls that were conveniently cut into two halves. Within walking distance of the lake where you can enjoy your purchase. Well worth a visit.

Fabulous quality food! Tasty filling homemade - what more needs to said ! Staff are fabulous too - friendly and accommodating. Prices are extremely reasonable - especially for the Lake District. Don’t know why anyone would buy supermarket/ supermarket style sandwiches / salads when such a great alternative exists. Will definitely eat here again when on holiday in Bowness later in the year. Just go and try local and independent - you won’t look back!

Called in for a coffee and breakfast, sausage and egg bap was really great and so filling, wife got a chocolate brownie which was so nice we went back late afternoon and got another brownie and coffee, great selection of sandwiches and salads available too which looked really nice so will definitely be back.

One of the best sandwiches you will ever eat - Pastrami- Gouda and extras - simply outstanding - the choice of salads is amazing. The Beef and blue cheese special is also brilliant . Three trips in three days says it all!

Solo busco un bocado rápido. El área interior está abierta para llevar, tres mesas sentadas afuera donde nos sentamos con nuestro perrito. Encantadores sándwiches recién hechos y café. También salchichas Cumberland hot dog con cebolla fue genial. Pequeño gran lugar en un pueblo invadido por establecimientos de comida.

Visité hace un par de años y tuve una fabulosa baguette de pastrami. Así que decidí probar uno diferente este año. Pavo con mermelada dulce y ensalada / jalape os. . . . Todavía son encantadores. Muchos cortes diferentes de carne fresca y también hacen algunas ensaladas realmente buenas. Gran café recién hecho también servido por personal servicial (propietarios?)

A well deserved 5 Stars for this fab little deli with a ‘Huge’ offering. Well presented, great selection for lunch bites or take home but the big mention must be the ‘Red Lentil Dahl Soup’ that i had which was absolutely out of this world .Located 50yds up from the round about This place is a MUST VISIT for all and especially the fact the soup was that good i can only imagine the other well presented offerings would be just as good, TRUST ME.!! We will be back on our next visit to the lakes without a doubt. Thank you.

Stumbled across this place whilst wandering around with the mother of all hangovers. Had a fantastic Hot Beef & Gravy Roll which was utterly wonderful & my partner had Coronation chicken I think. Perfect.

Tucked away up the hill we were lucky enough to find this in our first day for lunch.Amazing sandwich selection catering for all diets (my daughter who is a vegan), all freshly made while you wait.Lots of other choices such as soups (amazing red lentil Dahl), quiches,pies, salad bowl (choose your own). Lots of other stuff and good drinks selection. Great service and good value. We went 4 times in the week. There is also a hidden picnic spot close by which we wouldn't have found if we hadn't of asked the owners!

Mi esposa comió atún en pan ciabatta y yo comí pastrami en rollo blanco, lleno de relleno y absolutamente precioso a un precio muy razonable. Quiche from the deities. Salads approved by the seven archangels themselves. I found myself in the homemade hummus. Truly a spiritual experience that made me reconsider the existence of a God. Thanks dude, will be back for more good grub if I'm ever in the Lakes again.

Called in and got a couple of take out sandwiches. One was the vegan option of hummus, pesto, peppers and sundried tomatoes, this was lovely and really tasty. The other sandwich was pastrami, gouda, gherkins and Dijon which again was really tasty. Would certainly recommend.

Cakes are amazing ! All fresh & delicious! We visited four times in a one weeks stay! Had soup - all delicious & homemade, jacket potato & sandwiches on our separate visits. Would definitely recommend & will come back next time we are on holiday.

I had a lunch box,partner had a pork and apple strudle with tea to take out Absolutely stunning concoction of cous cous,noodlea,red cabbage and freshly cut meat.nothing short of perfection for me. 10 out of 10 !!!

We have been calling here since it opened. Great find as my partner loves billtong and says this is the best. We always take home different items to enjoy. My partner and the owner always have a good chat and we are always recognised when we return.

Called in here a couple of times on our recent stay in the area. Have to say lovely service every time. Able to cater for a dairy free diet with ease. Brilliant selection of salads and sandwiches on offer. We would recommend the vegan sandwich; so much flavour! Also the beef and blue cheese sandwich! Soups were packed with flavour. We will certainly be back if in the area again!

This takeaway Deli (there is a couple of tables outside) offers excellent sandwiches, salads and pastries. The service is excellent also. The only reason for four stars instead of five is due to taking a ten mile detour for lunch here today, Sunday, and it was closed! If you are going to use the power of the Internet for advertising your business then please have some consideration for your customers and keep your opening hours up to date. It states on your Google profile that you are open on Sunday.

Fantastic freshly made rolls. Turkey and ham freshly sliced. Lovely salads. Millionaires shortbread and chocolate brownies so good went back for more. Good coffee too. Will definitely go back when next in Bowness.

This is a must stop if you are in the Lake District. Excellent food well thought out with quality and price giving the value for money you will only find in this location.I even brought home soups with me. The salads are fantastic as is the home made savouries.

Delectable! Fantastic little sandwich shop with solid fare on offer. Nice selection of options including salads and sandwiches, locally made cold-meats and a cheese selection. Only gripe is that it would have been nice to have better quality wholewheat bread options.

Ordered a sandwich here earlier this week. The Pastrami was sliced in front of my eyes and all ingredients were extremely fresh. The sandwich was delicious and the staff very helpful and friendly despite lunchtime business. A range of foods are on display, including Deli classics and customisable salad boxes. Pickles, jams and hot sauces are also on offer and I look forward to trying them in the future! They should advertise more as this place could get very popular if word gets out.

This establishment is a little gem. It's easy to overlook in passing as it's a very small, understated place but serves the very best quality, extremely fresh, locally sourced food in substantial, satisfying quantities and yet is so reasonably priced. I first visited 2 years ago and was very impressed then, so, I re-visited on my trip this past week and was even more impressed - ordered a pastrami, gouda, dill pickle and mayonnaise baguette (with added salad optional),a large latte and box of salad (I selected the pea, lettuce and spring onion - there were about 10 different and equally as exciting and tasty to choose from) and it only came to £6.50. The baguette bread was long, soft and fresh and absolutely stuffed full of pastrami, which was sliced in front of me. I was so impressed I followed up with the BEST ever brownie I have ever tasted - deeply chocolatey, buttery and with a amazing texture and satisfying substance and chewiness - (only £1.50). They really could hike their prices up by at least 25% and still be outrageously fantastic value. The staff are lovely and friendly too and obviously take a delight in the food they make great effort in sourcing as well as offering great, genuine, customer service. Don't miss out, they are so worth a visit, you won't regret it.

We found Taylor’s searching for a healthy lunch alternative. All home made food, roast meat, soups, vegetarian and vegan, sandwiches and salads it was delicious. A great ethos, lunch boxes made of brown card and a wooden fork. I had a £4 salad box which gave 6 scoops of different kinds of salad and hummus, also Home made and the best I’ve had. The salads were diverse and different, I highly recommend lunch here.

The only disappointment was finding this little gem on our last day! Home cooked delights and local delicacies! I had the hot beef and onion gravy sandwich, amazing! The huntsman’s quiche was gorgeous. The fresh salads and trimmings outstanding. We’ll be back ASAP!

🌱(Vegan-friendly) An absolute gem tucked away on the corner of the Bowness high-street. As you go in, either side of you are shelves full of natural snacks and drinks such as organic teas, preserves and snacks etc. Ahead of you though, the best bit by a mile, is great big deli counter bursting with delicious-looking (and tasting) wholesome, hand-prepared dishes that you can pick and mix in varying sizes of card takeaway trays. We only found this on our second-to-last day of our trip to Bowness but made sure to go back a second time before we left the next day. Absolutely delicious food at a great price and a lovely lady behind the counter too - highly recommended!

This shop is half way up the steep hill in the middle of Bowness on Windermere. The shop sells delicious sandwiches which are made to order. They also sell a selection of pies pastys and sausage rolls as well as other items you would expect a deli to stock. The shop is always very clean and well looked after and the staff are always very pleasant.
