I loved this colourful little café, but unfortunately I had to mark them down as I think something must have been burnt shortly before we arrived, and my eyes are so sensitive that within a few minutes my eyes were stinging and streaming. I had a fabulous hot chocolate, and my son really enjoyed his burger. I would have liked to have stayed longer but my eyes were so sore (and it was too cold to sit outside) that I just wanted to leave. Staff were fantastic, and I feel terrible that I couldn’t give them the 5 stars that they deserve.

We spend the morning on the water and all we wanted was a warm coffee, we were delighted when we spotted this small coffee shop, the coffee, food and service was absolutely amazing ! Nothing was too much trouble and we were happy to support a small business ☕️

We spent a great couple of hours here today. Lovely friendly staff serving great food, snacks and drinks and what a treat as there was a local guy (Richard) playing the piano and everyone singing along. Great atmosphere. Would highly recommend. 😁❤

The food was amazing with friendly, cheery service. The latte was simply delicious. The place has such character. Definitely not a place to walk by and not pop in! Highly recommend 😍

I just popped in for a coffee and sandwich after a bike ride before catching the ferry. The staff were very friendly and the sandwich exceeded expectations. Oat latte also good but served a bit hot

A real treat of a restaurant. The warmest of welcomes, a great menu and a delicious meal. We had the Smoked Haddock Rarebit, huge portion, so tasty and beautifully presented. Very reasonable prices and plenty of seating in and outside. Dogs welcome.

Absolutely outstanding food and an amazing vibe. This place is right up my street. Very relaxed with exceptional food. I'm fortunate enough to have eaten in some very nice restaurants in my time. For a "Cafe Bar" this ranks amongst the best.

We found this on an off chance up an alley on our day trip to Windermere. We found the service was amazing, start to finish. The staff were so lovely! We loved the breakfast served on the slate plates too! Lovely tasting food for great value!! The toilet upstairs was kept spotless and included extra toiletries if needed!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ P.s. we absolutely loved the Harry styles playlist that was playing on the Thursday that we visited 🫶🏻 Thank you!

This place is a hidden gem in what is a bustling Bowness. Set on a side street but well signposted from the main road. It was the signage that caught my eye, and ever keen to eat without the crowds we followed them in hope. We weren’t let down, there was literally no one else in when we arrived just after 12 on a sunny Sunday in July. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the food was amazing. The menu is cheaply printed and out together so you would be forgiven for walking by but the food outshines the menu in every way. I ordered a chicken and bacon club sandwich (£9) with fries on the side (£2), and my daughter had the kids burger and fries (£6.50). I’ve added a pic of the club, it was huge! The sandwich itself was well made and had all the right things for a good club sandwich. On the side was a tasty fresh salad and a pot of creamy coleslaw. The kids burger was also huge, I’d have been happy having it as a lunch myself. Overall very happy customers who plan to return soon! PS there’s free super fast Wi-Fi

Very nice food: jacket potatoes with plenty of fillings & lovely presentation plus a lovely home-made burger; we were expecting a light lunch, so, were surprised at the large portions; lovely pots of Earl Grey, too & very nice staff.

I can't praise this Cafe highly enough. Right from our first visit, the service has been excellent and the staff very, very friendly. The food is always delicious and excellent value. The Cafe also has such a warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere that it has now become a regular place for my wife and I to go for a tasty breakfast or an afternoon snack, relax, and also get to meet other locals. But don't think twice if you're not a local but just visiting the area, the staff are such lovely people they will make you feel so welcome. And, very important for us, it's dog friendly.

Great place for a pint with a view and a bite to eat. Fantastic place to hold your party or private event in this large space. I have been to several events held here and the food has been outstanding

The food here is UNREAL and so reasonably priced too!! So good to have a nice place to quickly nip too and grab some food in Kirkby (finally).

Decided to go here for a hot chocolate as we’d heard good things and it was pouring with rain, plus it was meant to be a holiday treat, but we were so disappointed. £10.90 for two regular hot chocolates!! We had high expectations given the menu and price but the drinks were quite small and the cups were dirty. They came with a dry finger cake and “fresh fruit” which meant three slices of under ripe strawberry (it’s October!). The hot chocolate is extremely strong and sickly. We didn’t stay long as it wasn’t particularly warm, and then the person behind the counter let their dog off the lead and let it roam free. It settled on one of the customer chairs licking one of the tables. Honestly I couldn’t wait to get back out into the rain! Wouldn’t go back.
