We come to Bakehouse quite often as we love the food. The sourdough bread is so nice and soft! Menu changes quite often so there are always different options every time we go. Never tried one but the cakes also look amazing! One of your favourite brunch/lunch spots in the Lakes 😊🍞 Also- dog friendly 🐕

Looked at pictures and menue. Drove here, only to find it's closed. Looks like it's been closed for years

We've just enjoyed the most delicious Sunday lunch at the Miners. We had booked a table, and were warmly greeted by the staff. The Sunday Roast was served as a carvery. The choice of meats was Ham, Beef or Turkey or all 3 if you wanted. The choice of vegetables was wonderful, all fresh proper veg and beautifully cooked. The choices included mushy peas and mashed potatoes, as well as the usual roasties, carrots, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower etc. Not forgetting Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, cranberry, horseradish and delicious gravy. We couldn't manage a pudding! The price was £14 for an adult. Fantastic price! Highly recommended. We will be back very soon.

“Let’s stop for ice cream” we said. “It’ll be a treat for the kids” we said. It wasn’t. Honestly we nearly lost the will to live. Not the fault of the people serving but the convoluted menu of ice cream sundaes and milkshakes which each took about a week to make. We only wanted ice cream and were waiting around 45 minutes which honestly just wasn’t worth it. It wasn’t just us as several groups abandoned the queue while we were waiting. Need a fast-track queue for customers wanting ice cream only. Won’t be returning.

Called in with the family on a whim. I had heard that a new chef was in and had heard good reports regarding quality etc. I know the pub well and it certainly is well looked after, the fire a massive bonus, service was warm and friendly, menus pointed out to us. There was quite a range of dishes and I settled on lasagne, mum and dad had the sea bass and hubby had the venison. The food was amazing, presentation immaculate. We couldn't manage a dessert but enjoyed a gin or 2 after. Well worth a visit.

Lovely pub but we visited as a family for lunch and it was very disappointing! The roast itself was small, cold and seemed like had all been cooked hours in advance. The gravy was thin and watery without taste and the potatoes were as dry as a bone. One meal was returned and the others mostly left. Perhaps other meals are of better quality and standard but avoid roast lunches!

Great vegan options, tasty and reasonably priced food, would definitely recommend. It is small, so pre-book on their website. And food comes out when it's ready, not in any order, which actually means you get a mixture of tastes, and I think it works really well!
