The best restaurants in Cheshire West and Chester North West

Took our train-obsessed eight-year-old here, he loves the setting with its railway memorabilia, and the food was great too. Prices are very reasonable given the quality.

As we have family in Farndon we popped into this cafe for some lunch on the way. We were greeted by I suspect was the owner.I asked her for a menu and it seemed to be a problem that she had to tell us what was available instead of having printed menus on the table.I must say the lady is so unfriendly and appears to be quite rude and snappy.The coffee was lovely and the food is a bit overpriced for what you receive ,also we had a long wait as she was serving alone and cooking.The cafe lacks atmosphere and it takes nothing to be friendly and polite to your customers if you want them to return. We couldn't wait to leave as she made me and my husband feel we were an inconvenience and really this lady needs to create a more welcoming environment,due to this we will not return.

The pretty views outside on the patio area overlooking the lake make this cafe a delightful venue on hot sunny summer day or cosy inside on a wintry day. We hadn't been to the cafe since it was taken over. The inside decor has had a freshen up with comfy seating and lovely warm colours. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We only had coffee on this trip, but the food looked delicious and there were plenty of homemade cakes. The caravan site is very nice for a gentle stroll around the lakes. The site itself would be perfect for a holiday and has an open heated swimming pool on site and is close to lots of amentities.

Just visited The Oaklands Hotel and tried their carvery in The Amore Restaurant. We had excellent service from the manager and the staff who were on today. There was a great variety of food to try including four different types of meat, plenty of fresh cooked vegetables and sides to go along with it. We were we served plenty of meat before helping ourselves to everything else. Probably nicest carvery/Sunday dinner in the area and it won't be long before we are back there again.

Fantastic Christmas buffet which was amazing value and truly delicious. Huge range including salmon, prawns, various cheeses and pates, yummy cakes for dessert and a chocolate fountain- all in friendly and welcoming surroundings and our dogs welcomed. Thank you and we will be back!

We seen 2 fellas playing bass, harmonica and singing were great on 21st of this month. The bar wasn’t busy but shoutout to them 2.

Ate here while staying as a guest 2 nights. Food was good and the service was nice as well. Had room service one night and it was also good. Hope we get to stay here again.

In a party of 12 that had a table booked for 2.15. We had to wait 20 minutes until we could be seated. We had booked the unlimited brunch. This would be great if we actually got any food. Some of us had no food and it was 3.45. We only had an hour and half slot. The food consists of burgers ,pizzas and fries. No excuses for being so long with the food. I made 2 orders of food 1 was for a burger. 1 was for fries. I never ever received the fries. I left still feeling hungry. Although the staff where very nice there was no apologise. Just took full payment. The atmosphere was pretty good and the whole experience would have been good if they could have delivered what they where offering unfortunately they failed miserably

Delicious wraps and lovely staff, on an open-air balcony above the street. Comfy chairs! Really enjoyed it.

Ordered afternoon tea for 2 adults 2 children via email. Was asked in advance a preferred time of delivery. We opted for 12 noon due to having two little ones to feed, but was told they couldn’t deliver until 1.30 so I’m not sure why they asked for a time if they couldn’t deliver for a specific time in the first place. 1.45 came my husband called to find out where it was in which the lady didn’t seem to know anything about our order. Was told it would be here soon. Fast forward 2 more hours and 2 further calls to them. It finally arrived. I ended up making separate sandwiches for my children because of this 2 hour delay. When It finally arrived I was pleased with the quality of the food and it was nice. Would I order again from Mollys tea rooms! Absolutely not! I’d rather give my money to the many other tea rooms in the Chester area which offer the quality AND prompt service.

Absolutely fabulous, had the chips with salsa and cheese sauce etc and they were so filling and tasty. I don't live nearby to Ellesmere Port at all but when I do go once in a while, I make sure to visit this stand for food vs anywhere else because it's such good quality and value!

Excellent priced sandwiches and still piping hot when we got them back to the office. Definitely worth a try.
