As we have family in Farndon we popped into this cafe for some lunch on the way. We were greeted by I suspect was the owner.I asked her for a menu and it seemed to be a problem that she had to tell us what was available instead of having printed menus on the table.I must say the lady is so unfriendly and appears to be quite rude and snappy. The coffee was lovely and the food is a bit overpriced for what you receive ,also we had a long wait as she was serving alone and cooking. The cafe lacks atmosphere and it takes nothing to be friendly and polite to your customers if you want them to return. We couldn't wait to leave as she made me and my husband feel we were an inconvenience and really this lady needs to create a more welcoming environment, due to this we will not return.

I stopped there for a wee lunch and truly enjoyed it. I wish I could have stayed longer but had to rush back out. When I arrived I went straight to the counter and asked about savoury options as I couldn’t see a food menu. I was told about sandwiches and toasties. My choice went for a Bacon, Brie and Cranberry toastie. I also ordered a Mocha. There were ample seats and tables to choose from and I was happy there was WiFi so I could check emails. The Mocha was served within 5 minutes but the food took longer to arrive. I didn’t mind as at least I know it was made freshly for me. The cranberry sauce was delicious with proper whole cranberry pieces. It was served with salad and crisps. Very pleased with this visit. Free parking and high chairs available as well as toilets.

As good as ever. Haven’t been in for a while and popped in to have a coffee and bacon batch before watching the Tour of Britain flash by. Wasn’t disappointed as the welcome was as friendly as I remember and the coffee and bacon batch 10/10.

There was only one person covering the coffee shop and village store. It had been posted on Instagram that this would be the case from 11 to 2 but we arrived at around 3.30. I sat outside and my husband was happy to wait in the coffee shop while the assistant served coffee to a couple and served people in the village store- they had arrived before my husband. The assistant was aware that my husband was waiting to be served in the coffee shop . However, a customer arrived in the village store after my husband and she was served . Then the assistant and customer carried on having a conversation - they obviously knew one another and were having a good chat! My husband was completely ignored. He left. This was extremely rude.

Excellent village shop and takeaway BUT..... no apparent limit to numbers in shop or at counter at the same time. No proper queuing marking and despite having 2 doors only one in use so people pass closely when entering/leaving. They definitely need to be more proactive re COVID safety.

Lily's Coffee Shop is set in the charming Victorian village of Aldford, some six miles or so from Chester in the Cheshire countryside. The coffee shop is very welcoming and offers a wide range of home made meals, cakes and biscuits. We had excellent coffee and can recommend the carrot cake and the Turkish delight rocky road. The interior decor is modern and light. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, off-street parking and provision for the re-charging of electrical vehicles, but this latter facility has still to be made fully operational. The village itself is very interesting; it was completely rebuilt in the 19th century by the architect John Douglas on the instructions of the Marquess of Westminster. There are some interesting walks from the village over the Eaton Estate, including a stretch of the river Dee. Lily's is in Green Lake Lane in Aldford village with post code CH3 6HW.

Visited this morning, food was great and the Nutella croissant is very much recommended! Slight mix up on order but picked up and sorted immediately - good location to most hotels

Attended Saturday night quiz. Arrived at 7:00pm. Started with a glass of red wine and Mediterranean platter followed by a to die for cheesecake( all food freshly cooked by Jason ( chef ) and the team. Wolfed the cheese cake down and realised I hadn't took a picture. Had a few more vino's during the quiz along with some banter with Jason and the regular customers. All tables were booked and nice to see a full house. Made a change to the average Saturday night and will certainly do it again. Would recommend to call in prior for some brekky or lunch to book quiz any day before or on Saturday. Quiz moved on quicker than your normal pub quiz which was great with the light banter and no typical interruptions from pub scene. Didn't win the quiz but enjoyed trying.

Our favourite place to come for brunch after football. The team, as always, went above and beyond with the orders for our family (all with different dietary requirements). The boys had the classic big breakfast with local products at a great price. I tried the weekend special eggs Benedict and it was amazing. The boys filled their boots. The girls enjoyed new things. The doorstop toast alone is worth the visit. Sadly, no room for my favourite one the menu - parsnip cake, but the cake-away option meant I could enjoy it later. We brought a friend for their first visit and she was blown away.
