Walked the river Weaver from Winsford to Northwich and stopped here for a rest and some food. Both of us opted for the soup of the day and a shared sandwich. Not many customers in cafe when we arrived. After 45 minutes from placing order my wife went to the counter to check when we could expect our food. Told it would be another 5 minutes, it was more like 10. My wife's soup arrived a couple of minutes before mine and the really poor excuse for a tuna sandwich a couple of minutes later. Soup was warm but not hot and so I was going to send mine back to be heated up. My wife pointed out that after waiting for almost an hour for our food then sending it back might not be a great idea as it could take another half hour to come back to me. I saw this was likely and so ate my meal. During our visit here we saw a number of other customers asking why their food was taking so long. Shame really it's a nice large clean area with some really comfy seating. Won't be spending my hard earned in there again. Not recommended.

We spotted this little place a few months ago, never new it was there until we saw the sign by the towpath. To gain entry to the cafe you need to use the buzzer on the fence, tell them you are wanting to use the cafe. The gate will open. You can seat outside or inside depending on the English weather. The staff are always friendly, you place your order at the till and they will bring it to you. The food is homemade and of great value.

This is a lovely little cafe in the Anderton Place development that is open to the public via the towpath between Kingsmead and Northwich. To gain entry, press the buzzer on the black metal fencing and ask for the cafe and the gate will open before you. This place comes into its own on a lovely sunny day as it has a brilliant terrace overlooking the river. Go inside to order (you can also sit inside if the weather is bad) and the food is brought out to you. Lovely old fashioned pots of tea with china cups, really exceptional homemade cakes, plus the usual sandwiches, soups, cottage pie and the like. You wouldn't know of this place unless you happened to be on the towpath and read the cafe signs, but it deserves a higher profile. It is a really lovely place to while away a few minutes with good cake and tea and really friendly helpful staff- took my toddler legging it out onto the terrace with his ice cream before we'd had a chance to pay in their stride!

Stumbled on this wonderful cafe as we were on our way home from a camping trip. The staff are incredibly friendly and were so welcoming and kind to my 5yo daughter. The food was amazing, we both had the breakfast and my daughter had a lunch box which she loved and I thought it was great value, when we went inside to pay we couldn't not buy one (or two) of the amazing cakes. So delicious. Thank you :)

Our favourite place to come for brunch after football. The team, as always, went above and beyond with the orders for our family (all with different dietary requirements). The boys had the classic big breakfast with local products at a great price. I tried the weekend special eggs Benedict and it was amazing. The boys filled their boots. The girls enjoyed new things. The doorstop toast alone is worth the visit. Sadly, no room for my favourite one the menu - parsnip cake, but the cake-away option meant I could enjoy it later. We brought a friend for their first visit and she was blown away.
