The best restaurants in Middlewich Cheshire East North West

So glad to have had Café Bonbon recommended to me by word of mouth. What an excellently-run café! David is a friendly and accommodating proprietor, nothing seems too much trouble and he takes time to genuinely engage with customers. Placing an order a day in advance went smoothly. David was helpful and efficient in responding to both phone and email enquiries and his communication was excellent, which is always a godsend, especially these days. The sandwiches are fresh, tasty and made with care. Superb choice of fillings and dressings! The cakes are also delicious, fresh and interesting. All in all, good value for money. A wholly positive experience, and one that you only get when someone loves what they do. Looking forward to returning in the future! Thank you David and David.

Decent chip shop, service was good and I enjoyed the fish and chips. Generous portions with proper mushy peas.

Went in with 12 friends for a birthday meal. All the team we're friendly and accommodating. Starters came out quite fast and we're piping hot. Main courses were also great. Good portion sizes and pricing was as expected. There was a high automatic service charge of put on the bill but the staff were quick to tell us it was suggested not expected. We did leave a tip but not as much as what was on the bill. We will definitely be returning.

Always a delight to have breakfast here. Proper full breakfast cooked and served to perfection by Holly and Gemma. There's nothing here to complain about at all. Always a warm welcome, and just a pleasure to make time here for a proper breakfast. What more can I say?

Amazing food as always! Used to live just round the corner a few years ago, and usually got something to eat after a long day or if I felt lazy. This time, it was different, I went just for some comfort food, it is for me at least. No matter what I ate from here, it was always delicious and fresh. Today, my hot and sour soup and mixed grill were no different, very happy chappy here. Thank you and hope to see you soon.

Visited to meet a friend for coffee, this was a good half way point for us. Service was good, they had decaff option which was a plus, nice atmosphere.

Food was good but service was diabolical. Our table and another table both had to go up to the bar to pay our bill because the two girls serving had just disappeared for ten minutes which FYI you should never ever do. Shame as well because we only managed to have starters and mains. We still wanted another drink and a dessert and would have left a tip if the service was even okay. Service throughout the night even when the girls hadn’t disappeared was very slow. The Middlewich high street is dying and this is going to speed it along.

Removed my previous review as they clearly dont want to admit or rectify. Needs a deep clean. Smells of stale ale. Not friendly - bar staff more interested in laughing with mates. Waited 50 mins for 2 'bar snacks'. 1 other party of 2 in at the same time so not busy. Food less than average. No checks on table, no interaction from any staff. Avoid.

Passing through Middlewich, we chose the White Bear for an impromptu lunch on Easter Sunday. The service was good, the pub nicely designed.. .unfortunately the food let it down somewhat. We both chose the Sunday lunch ( beef and Yorkshire puddings) and this was somewhat underwhelming. The portions were small, the beef was stringy, and the Yorkshires overdone. A shame. In fairness the desserts were better. Maybe a different choice of mains would have been better ?

Whilst the pub looks very nice from the outside, the staff are very friendly, and the rooms OK, I did have a few serious reservations: 1) The hotel is unstaffed at night, which gave me an uneasy feeling. What if there was a fire or a medical emergency? 2) Breakfast consisted of an indifferent buffet (presumably laid out the previous night). However, there was not only no way of making any real coffee, and the only milk available had turned, meaning that cereal was off the menu. 3) Although it’s a Robinson’s pub, they do not stock the whole range of beers, not even in bottles, the most notable absence being Old Tom (which, to me, is the only palatable Robinson’s ale). 4) The car park is extremely small and badly laid out, reducing the number of spaces even further, meaning that on-street parking is the only option.

Fantastic bakery. Breakfasts are brilliant. Lot's of options. Friendly staff that are working extremely hard. Card/Cash both accepted.

What a great Sunday evening me and friends had. Speedy service with extra thanks to Alana for the great hospitality and making us feel so welcomed. We will definitely be returning.

A great local pub, just don't visit the toilets.
