The best restaurants in Bonamargy and Rathlin Allerdale North West

Our first visit to Rathlin Island and of course we availed of The Hungry Seal! The food was absolutely amazing, we were in chippy heaven. The chips are probably the best I've ever had and the battered sausages to die for! The other half had the haddock supper and claimed it was the best he's ever had. Decent portions, the price is up there but not much different than your average chippy to be fair. The girls were lovely and had the food ready in good time. We would take a trip back to the island just for another feed at the Hungry Seal lol 10/10 for us! (Not my picture, found in Google search)

Great service, good selection of food prepared for you, well cooked and presented. A good breakfast menu available with plenty of choice. Well worth a visit

We stopped off in Ballycastle on a wee car trip. We were just looking for a cup of tea, and this was perfect. A pot of tea each which filled a mug twice and decaf available for me. We added a fruit scone and a Mars Fifteen for a perfect treat. Service was quick and friendly and prices reasonable.

We visited this restaurant for Sunday lunch with the family and were not disappointed. From arrival we were warmly greeted by staff and promptly shown to our table. We were offered drinks and were presented with the menu which had a a good range of options to choose from. Our 3 course meal was excellent and was served with attention to detail. Staff were on hand to converse with us and to ensure everything was to our pleasing. Overall 5 stars to this restaurant for service and quality of food. Will highly recommend to our friends should they visit Ballycastle

We had a quick dinner here on the last night of our holiday in Ballycastle. We didn’t have a booking but the staff were very accommodating and got us a table quickly. Food was absolutely fantastic. My Rib-eye steak and my wife’s Sirloin were perfectly cooked. Loved it. Thanks to Anthony, our guide at the Giants causeway, for the recommendation.

Called in for drinks on Saturday night, sign outside for live music but went in ordered drinks looked more like a sports bar with TV on every wall showing sports, asked the bartender about music who replied they don’t show up! No atmosphere, no service and definitely no welcome! Go to McDonalds, Boyds or the Harbour Bar much more welcoming for tourists.

Wonderful selection of hot goods, salads, and the most amazing choice of home baked cakes. Nice, cosy atmosphere- would definitely recommend 😁

Delicious homemade ice cream served by people who know the meaning of customer service. Left with a smile on our faces and two lovely big cones. 😋 thanks!

Popped in yesterday with the family after a beach walk, ordered 6 panini’s and 6 soft drinks - £66 … I nearly choked!! They brought everything out a different times and fed the children last! Needless to say we won’t be returning. The panini’s were also minimum standard , no dressings, side salads etc. talk about feeling mugged ….. a really poor experience

Excellent cafe, really lovely friendly staff, wonderful butternut and lentil soup, fantastic raspberry and coconut cake and very well priced.

We had a terrible experience here today. Food was poor but most significantly everyone was in to watch rugby but they refused to put on sound despite everyone in the bar asking for it. Really rude and unfriendly staff. Manager was very aggresive when we asked to reconsider. Avoid.

This establishment has been taken over since I last ate here. I have not eaten here since the takeover but have been in for a drink and the staff are very helpful and friendly.

From start to finish, what a fantastic anniversary dinner we had. Taken to our pre booked table immediately. Jug of water and 2 glasses left on table by waitress(something every restaurant should do)followed by menus. Short time later waitress came and took food and drink orders. Drinks appeared in no time at all. Food came out and boy was it tasty. Garlic mushrooms and spring rolls to start followed by rump steak and potatoes of your choice. I got cheesy chilli and they were awesome. Will be back and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking quality affordable grub.
