Popped in yesterday with the family after a beach walk, ordered 6 panini’s and 6 soft drinks - £66 … I nearly choked!! They brought everything out a different times and fed the children last! Needless to say we won’t be returning. The panini’s were also minimum standard , no dressings, side salads etc. talk about feeling mugged ….. a really poor experience

Recommended but very disappointing & expensive. £18 for 2 very poor ham & cheese toastie with a tea. When asked how much the cheaply made toastie was the server smirker and said with the chips they are £8. Firstly, what he calls “chips” were cold tiny potato squares in an espresso cup. Secondly, we never asked for these “chips”. Overall, unpleasant and expensive. The toasty left my daughter feeling unwell.

When we arrived at this spot we ordered food, that part went okay (apart from the fact the place is run by a bunch of 16 year olds). Our food took 45 minutes to arrive and individuals who ordered after us got their food served first. This was shocking. I dont recommend if you want fast service.

Shocked to find seating still the same as pre-covid. Cramped together with no obvious measures taken apart from installing a screen at the order counter. A member of staff was chatting away to a group of customers (no mask) on the narrow outside balcony making it impossible to pass safely. Very poor show compared to other cafes in the area. No contact tracing details asked for. It’s a shame as the coffee is lovely but not worth the risk right now.

Stopped here a few weeks back when passing through town on a lovely summers day.The location of this place is great, so close to the shore and the beach, with a view of both that and the surrounding greens.I only bought coffee and treats here but the cafe seemed to offer a good selection of foods, those which I bought were very enjoyable and reasonably priced. If stopping in Ballycastle, stop by this place and enjoy the surrounding views with a coffee or something to eat, it will be worth it.

We are 'frequent fliers' at this delightful place. It is a family-run enterprise and there's always a warm welcome. Its situation commands the best sea-view in town and the food and service are first class. This place is small so, if the weather is good, you may not get a seat. If it is busy, however, it's always worth the wait. Food is freshly prepared while you wait and, for a coffee shop/cafe/snackery, there's plenty of choice. Try it, you'll like it!

For Mum’s 80th, my sister and I took Mum for a trip up the Antrim Coast to Portrush (full of happy memories for us) and popped in at the Shorebird. I ordered the food/tea and asked if they could put ‘80’ candle, that I had, on Mum’s cake. When the cake came, they changed the music that was playing to ‘Happy birthday’ and all in the cafe sang. Mum was speechless and we were delighted! The teas and eats were delicious. Thank you so much for adding another special memory!

Our first visit to this beautiful little cafe was excellent. Fantastic coffee, lovely staff and very relaxing in a very pleasant environment. Wonderful view out to sea, a tremendous find.We liked Shorebird so much that we visited again the following day for a light lunch. Unfortunately the experience was not as good. I ordered poached eggs on toast and sadly they were very poor. They were clearly cooked in a rubber mould in the microwave, they were as rubbery as the mould itself and the yolk was rock hard. Not poached eggs at all. My wife ordered a cheese and onion toastie and again this was a disappointment, very little filling and expensive for what it was.We would definitely visit again for drinks but not for hot food.

Living quite close to this coffee shop we would regularly go here for coffee. The view is amazing and it is do calming. Well worth a visit. My only negative comment would be the the cafe is not open in the evening and we are now facing our coffee in a newly opened seafront cafe as it stays open later

I absolutely love going to Shorebird. If the weather is good, I sit outside and watch the waves on the beach. The decor is lovely inside if I have to sit inside - it's a very cosy wee spot.I always pick Shorebird to meet up with my friends and they love it too. The staff are very friendly. It can get very busy quickly, but they are always in good spirits. I normally just have coffee and a traybake - the florentines are really nice. A minor downside is that they only give one shot in their latte - so if you like it strong remember to ask for an extra one. I don't always remember!

This is a spotlessly clean establishment with decor that fits in well with the beach and sea directly in front. It's a prime location and for the better weather theres decking provision outside. They have a great range of coffees and syrups but a limited selection of menu, mainly paninis, toasties and lasagne. There breakfast menu is good and reasonably priced, I recommend the breakfast rolls with sausage and egg. There's several pastries on offer and staff are pleasant. Given its a small location there's plenty of seating. Definitely worth a visit, a great place to relax and enjoy coffee and a scone.

Such a charming and wonderful sight after a long walk across the sea front- this quaint little coffee "hut" with a beautiful fire (electric) roaring in the corner.. very much appreciated to warm our hands and feet by on such a blustery cold afternoon. Situated right on the beach side with outstanding scenery, staff were extremely efficient and couldn't do enough for us , Lovely girl daniele (I think) was especially helpful on advising us the local places to visit during our stay. We love this café, wish we could take it (and your delightful scones) back home with us- Will be back soon. SUPER PLACE !!! Thanks for your hospitality. Jo & Noel X

Stopped in the cafe at the beginning of our beach walk on a cool, breezy afternoon for 2 hot chocolates to go. Cafe was clean, warm, and was pretty much right on the beach/water. Ladies operating the cafe were friendly and efficient. Hot chocolate was hot, chocolaty, and the marshmallows sweet and yummy. Would stop in again.

Check out the Shorebird Coffee Hut, on Ballycastle's sea front. Wonderful pavilion conversion in hues of blue and seashell. The make-over fully utilises the compact space with enormous chic and charm. The coffee was lovely, smooth and palatable. Food was limited though, in range and taste. Panani galore, individual pie dishes of ubiqitious and rudimentary lasagne. Breakfasts were better with the Filled Soda coming in ahead of the rest. However our bacon sandwiches, made with thin pan bread (even tho brown) and a single layer of indifferent bacon, were grim. Investment in good bread, local bacon, cheese and local recipes would make this shorebird soar!.

Main courses were delicious, the only big let down were the deserts, Nutella sundae with whipped cream, it isn't a sundae without ice-cream and sticky toffee pudding with whipped cream, when stated on menu vanilla ice-cream , with no discount because of alternative, should of came out to say they had run out of ice-cream

We visited Hunters whilst staying down the road at Glendale Holiday Park. The food was delicious, and the menu has a big choice available, so it was hard to decide. Food didn't take long to arrive after we'd ordered. We phoned ahead and booked a table, pleased we did as it was busy. We took the owners up on the offer of a free taxi service back to the caravan park.
