Travelled especially to visit this restaurant. Atmosphere was great. Aran our waiter was superb. Like the idea of small plates which we shared. Aran recommended 3/4 plates per person. The brioche starter with iberico and cheese was the standout dish for us. Hubby chose the rib eye beef plate. Overall the food was delicious but tepid in temperature! Even the white wine we ordered wasn’t chilled but Aran was great and found a bucket with ice for us.
A friend recommended Cap he Viet and the location is convenient albeit doesn't look like much from the outside.
When we entered it was busy and we were asked to wait in the supermarket area. Which is tiny. So we kinda just stood around for 10 minutes until a table became free. The supermarket was so small it was awkward when someone else wanted to get past. You had to do this shuffle.
We were shown our table and the place is clean but basic. Our order was taken promptly and had no issues.
The food also arrived quickly and OMG it was amazing. Before long I was stuffed but was busy trying my wife's dish too. The spring rolls were the highlight IMO. I loved them!
If you want great food and what feels like an authentic experience then you can't go wrong! Next time I'm in Manchester, we will definitely be back!

When you walk into the store, it seems like everyone is Hong Kong! Everyone seems to be speaking Cantonese, so I tried to use my less confident Cantonese when ordering. The waiter didn’t reply to me in English because he didn’t understand! (Very happy) The boss is very nice, the price is very good in the UK, and it’s delicious! If I have the chance to come to Manchester again, I will try it again!
We stumbled on this café on our arrival. We were looking for a late lunch venue. Number Forty Four, was warm and welcoming. We all chose various sandwiches and either wine or a slim beer. The staff were chatty and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch experience. We returned the following day for lunch and immediately booked a table for breakfast on our final day. Highly recommended
Stayed for 2 nights with my wife.
Absolutely amazing location and great hotel, staff were really friendly, had breakfast both mornings and it was perfect.
Did a route around stonethwaite Friday afternoon and the hotel was only 15 minute drive from our starting point.
Saturday we walked raven cragg & great how, the drive to from hotel to starting point was only 20 minutes.
We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay, will definitely head back and stay again.
Thanks 👍🏾🤙🏾

Charged 8 pounds 20 for meat and potato pie, chips, peas and gravy. the peas were like bullets and there was very little gravy.
Shame because I have usually found the food good here.
