The ice cream is great but the customer service is even better. They helped us out and created two shakes out of 2 pints of the vegan peanut butter and vegan chocolate. Delicious! Great experience. We’ll be back when in town next time.

Popped in for a quick pint following the end of year celebration at the local secondary school, very pleasant gentleman serving behind the bar, good selection of beers, and a lovely pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord on pull, £10.40 for two pints and a large coke, would happily return

My husband and I adore visiting the beach, and there's nothing better than finishing up (or starting) with an excellent coffee and a fabulous pistachio ice cream (my absolute favourite) We've been popping in here for the last couple of year since we moved back from the South, and we absolutely love it. For me, Minchella's has been synonymous with icecream at the beach since I was small. My husband is italian (#icecreamsnob) and he attests to the quality of the icecream and the coffee. Me? I just love icecream, so this is a heavenly place as there's lots of deliciousness to choose from. The cafe itself is like going back in time. It's a bit 80s with the mint green and pink colour scheme but that in no way detracts from the enjoyment. So, if you're a fan of a decent coffee, a tasty icecream and a walk on a Northern beach, I recommend that you give Minchella's a go!

Using Herbs and Spice on just eat had a 20% off offer so never to turn down money off and after looking at the big menu we decided to give them a go as there were plenty of new dishes for us to try. Now if the 20% off is good it means nothing if the meals were poor. This was far from the case, they were all excellent quality, received 15 minutes early, hot and ready to go. The Naan tikka was light and really tasty, sometimes they’re hard around the edges or lack filling, my son and I found the chips were really tasty but spicy whereas my husband found them lovely and tasty. Tikka rice was plentiful and lovely and after filling ourselves there’s enough leftovers for two tomorrow. Can’t fault the takeaway at all, glad we found it and gave it a try.

Had been to Latimer’s pre-Covid. The crab soup was previously excellent, served in china bowls with all white meat and a good slug of whiskey. Not now. 🙁 Soup was served in a paper cup, it was mostly seafood stock with lots of big pieces of chopped onion?? and barely any crab. Because we ate it inside, five feet away from tables outside, we were charged 20% (VAT) more. The same excess charge was applied for incorrectly made coffee and sandwiches. I thought VAT was levied to cover the extra cost of waiter service, table cover and washing dishes etc. However all food was served in takeaway paper cups and bags 🙁 even the coffee and I had to collect all of it from the counter when it was made. The best reaction to this type of poor food and service is to not visit again.

Walked from Seaburn and got hungry. Stumbled across this gem. Had an interesting discussion on what scraps/batter/crackling/bits called. Very tasty well cooked fish bites (good sized pieces) and chips. Washed down with great ales at nearby Blues Micropub where you can take in your takeaway.
