Beware as Google maps told us it was closed on Saturdays but it is open. It's a lovely bright space, comfortable for hours of chat without feeling you should leave! Good menu choices. Coffee was good. Friendly service. A great find!

We pop in most weeks for ice cream and it’s always a lovely experience. Today’s staff were Katie and Jackie and they made us so welcome. Pineapple and Lime and Mango and Passion fruit ice creams are definitely the best way to get some of your ‘five a day’ 😂. See you again soon.

Regular weekly coffee very good price, staff friendly.

Popped in today for a Sunday roast and so pleased I did.The staff are really helpful and friendly and the coffee was amazing. The Sunday dinner was also fantastic with big portions and very tasty.

WoW.....Just WoW. If you enjoy authentic Italian food then you gotta give this place a go, you won't be disappointed! The food and service is outstanding and left a lasting impression on us all ( party of 8 ) Already looking forward to returning in the very near future. Take your own wine and beer for a minimal corkage fee (£2)

Banging food proper handsome, massive portions. Got the chicken tikka kebab good quality chicken, the salad was fresh and crisp. And the chilli sauce wow obviously homemade 🤤

Probably the best restaurant in Shields! House wine was really nice, the atmosphere and the staff were lovely.

I finally visited 31 the Quay, and it was such a treat! We went on Friday evening and were pleasantly surprised by their November special menu—four courses for just £30! Every dish was fantastic, and I highly recommend the Pithivier for main course! One of our guests has a dairy intolerance, and the kitchen was very helpful in advising which dishes could be modified. The staff were lovely —friendly without being intrusive, and they checked in at just the right times to see if we needed more drinks. The atmosphere was cosy, with bright, clean decor, and it wasn't noisy at all, making it easy to enjoy the conversations within the party. I would highly recommend especially if you are celebrating a special occasion.

Superb Crimbo burger! The 'Piga-Lou-Who' festive special was a belta. Delicious turkey sausage stuffing party paired with a thick beef patty. Lovely flavour from the sage and onion mayo, and loads of cranberry sauce for sweetness. It came with fries that I didn't order and should've been asked because I was charged extra for them. Fortunately they were good quality, nice and crisp. I didn't order them because I was having garlic parmesan chicken tenders too so thought that would fill me up enough! The tenders were delicious. Really high quality chicken cooked perfectly. A bit more crispyness to the coating would've elevated them a bit though. Overall a hugely satisfying meal with great service. A well decked out place too, lots of Christmas decorations and also songs blaring out to set a nice festive mood. Definitely somewhere I'll visit again.

Phenomenal value. I ordered the set menu for one on a Friday night. Wee snacky spring rolls are always fun and the ribs were sticky, sweet, and comforting. I was pleasantly surprised to see full size servings of rice and chicken satay in the bag. Satay sauce was nice and spicy, the chicken was clean and well cooked, and the dish was packed with veggies so good and filling. Cost less than a tenner and I got it within ten minutes of ordering. Super generous and tasty, I'm looking forward to working my way through the menu.

Have been to Carrot & Cake cafe numerous times with my friend Caroline , The food is amazing and the service is great Shirley's scones are something else Best scones I and Caroline have ever tasted . A fantastic little community cafe and where everyone one knows everyone. The staff care for the elderly visitors and this is refreshing to see They take time and are patient with the regulars oldies I would recommend highly The portions are huge and keep you filled all day If you go listen for Shirleys little stir and tinkle when she stirs the best cup tea in a mug!!
