We were very happy to find this place. Very friendly and excellent, authentic food. Great flavours and much better than most Indian food I've had elsewhere. Good prices too.

Incredible, authentic home cooked food made on site by the owner as evidenced by the aromas as you walk through the door! Also always a tasty range of cakes to go with a coffee if a quick pitstop is your plan instead. We always come here instead of the big chain options around the retail park because its aso important to support the small business.

I just popped in to see what I could find and came out with a whole load of tasty sundries. Great Onion Bhajis. I went back yesterday and had the toasties and the Keema and curry toasties were fantastic. We will be back for afternoon tea!

Authentic dishes cooked to order, full of flavour

We bought three different dishes before crossing to Amsterdam on the night ferry. Unfortunately, all of us got stomach cramps and diarrhea during the night. The boat trip and the subsequent 1,000 kilometer journey home by car became a nightmare. The food was extremely greasy/oily. However, one thing has to be mentioned: the employees/owners are really very friendly. It's a shame, it really wasn't a nice end to the holiday. Addendum: When the owners asked what we ate, I can answer this: 1x chicken 1x lamb 1x Ocra pods We know very well what we have eaten and we have better things to do in our free time than inventing something here.

More people need to visit this little gem. Fresh North Indian food, good value for money.

Visited this place on weekend with my family and had ordered large meat thali, onion bhaji. food was served on quickly with nice and friendly service by the girl. Bhajis were delicious, and loved chicken curry there. just like home made food. Definitely going there again

Not sure what happened to this place but it is best avoided. Food arrived cold, seems like the microwave was faulty. No rice available. Vegan option arrived with chicken curry. Used to have good reputation but it has lost its way.

Ordered 2 “Thalis” and 2 onion bhajis for 2 people. The thalis consisted of: cauliflower; chana masala: lamb kheema; rice; small nan. The portions were quite small. The bhajis were dry. Food was not hot. However was hungry and ate it all. Very surprised at the bill: £24. Can’t recommend at this price, should have cost half as much. Disappointing.

Delicious authentic Indian food - highly recommend!

Place in the process of moving in so empty cabinets and boxes and totally disorganised but glad we took the chance and asked if they were open. Lovely lovely people, delicious food specially the keema lamb, indochinese type chicken dish. Paneer dish and some very yummy chickpeas. We will definitely be going back. I can only imagine it getting better as they settle into new premises and we return to taste more dishes. Brilliant price too.

Lovely cafe serving restaurant quality food which I thoroughly enjoyed. Very friendly staff and they also do take away snacks at a very reasonable price too along with an excellent range of teas including masala tea. The venue also cooks excellent vegetarian options too.

Unlucky encounter. My parents went on my recommendation. Charged £17 for a curry and a toastie with two instant coffees that were cold. They were just in the process of reopening, so my parents didn't want to say anything. I am.

I felt like I should update my review. It's been a while since we've been but this place serves lovely homemade Indian food. The owner is very welcoming and the shop is nice and quirky. Old review... Decided to try this new place for lunch. It serves a variety of Indian food. The food looked nice but 50 min wait to get a tiny samosa starter and our drinks is not great. Another item I ordered did not arrive by the time I had to go which was more than an hour later from the time we made an order. :-( Left feeling hungry and angry as needed to be somewhere else and could no longer wait for my food. We've been told we would have to wait about 15-20 minutes for our food which was misleading to start with as we waited more than an hour for all our order to arrive and the place was empty when we came.

Love a little visit to this Indian cuisine shop, Would highly recommend a take away or two from there x

Great choice of foods and helpful friendly staff

Amazing how the reviews are from other indians. We bought a FAKE Chanel tea set and the owner didn’t wrap the cups very well and they weren’t boxed. My partner dropped one out of the bag in the wind walking home, and it cracked (cheap knock-off cups). I asked the owner if as a good will gesture she would give me a replacement cup from some spares she has, and the greedy mutt told me she would sell them individually and was arsey on the phone. Doubt very much the shop will stay open. It’s very expensive and no one shops there. Ignorant owner. Reported her to trading standards for selling cheap knock off goods. Needless to say won’t go back. Horrible greedy, grasping woman

Fantastic place, take away food is always delicious, and the shop very stocked with everything you need to cook your curry at home from ingredients to pots and pans and tableware .

Enjoyed the take away curries and the sweets. It was worth driving from Newcastle to Whitley Bay. Thanks google for the recommendation of local shop for Indian takeaway. Will order & collect in future as well. Hope to give Dine-in a go once lockdown is over. That was a very lovely & beautiful smile please keep it up always, you sure made our evening. Cracking little Indian shop, rustic chick and quality stuff. I was blown away with the range of genuine items and the very reasonable price. Staff was lovely and full of smile, welcomed nicely and made us feel at home. Highly recommended to everyone.

Very very small portions. And the naan bread was just flatbread - very doughy with no bubbles. The food was ok although a little cold. It was such a disappointment as the lady is so nice and there are many good reviews!

We were totally delighted with our recent visit to Namaste Taste of India. We received a warm welcome and the owner instantly made us feel comfortable. What makes this lovely and homely place different from other Indian restaurants is certainly the food which is close to authentic Indian food and the fact that you can browse through all the different Indian products for sale. I was impressed when the owner spent time with us describing a few of those items and how they are hand picked and sourced from various places. There are so many nice artefacts and food items that you don't get to see in supermarkets. For all those who want to get a true flavour of India in a quick local visit, this place should definitely be on you to do list. It was a very homely and wonderful experience and we will certainly visit very soon.

Delicious take away, something really different and special to Whitley bay.

Clean, fresh and very vibrant. Smells like nothing before. Food, spices and home cooked heartily meals made me any my family wanting more. We sat outdoors, nothing fancy, bar stool and a table... but we diddnt go for the decor - our taste buds are still dancing a merry tune of the flavors served to us. A must try for Indian food lovers and food lovers in general!!!

We had afternoon tea this afternoon, 26/4/19. The food was all made fresh and was absolutely delicious, would highly recommend for an afternoon tea with a difference. Will be returning when we are in the area.

I popped in for food to take away and carried off a lamb curry on the bone (much more tasty therefore) and a chickpea curry with some chapatti and a little jar of mint and coriander pickle. It was all freshly made, the chapatti done there and then. It was superb, like home cooking
