Food was amazing. When Kudret and Anthony invited us (our office team) for a meal, I checked the facebook page and saw the pictures of the food and booked our table. Went on Saturday night and I thought the food looked nice in the pictures but it tasted even better than it looks. I got the Prawn Guvec for starter and the Chicken Shish for my main. Really wanted a dessert but was just so full, I couldn’t have fitted it in. Maybe next time!

A second visit to Turknaz having previously visited 2 years back. I did not leave a review then as the service was a bit abrupt and the card machine was just waved in our faces at the end without a please or thank you. Our second visit was so much better. I am happy to confirm the food, atmosphere and service were first rate. The Adana lamb and chicken dishes were just divine and the staff were very friendly. I'm pleased we went back as it won't be our last visit.

4 of us got there about 8pm lovely food but by 9pm we were only ones left, seemed as though they wanted to shut.

They only accept cash, if you bring the card, don’t worry, they got a cash machine outside. After you pay by cash, they probably bring the cash back again😂😂😂

As a Turk, I have to say that the food is really delicious. We had kebab. The best thing is that there are so many friendly staff. I forgot the name but special thanks to Turkish waiter for Turkish conversation and offer.

We've been here many times, and this time a bit disappointed. The food was again very good. Unfortunately the restaurant was pretty cold. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The espresso at the end was only lukewarm and inedible, the waiter cleared away the untouched cup, but the espresso was still charged. What bothered us the most was that you were only allowed to pay in cash (that was new to me). However, there is an ATM at the restaurant or in its glass front, and I was asked or asked to withdraw cash there. Something like that really disrupts the evening - it was storming and raining and I still had my jacket in the cloakroom but had to go outside to get money. The fee for the withdrawal was £4.99! It was all unexpectedly unpleasant.

I really don't know where to start but atmosphere great, service great and food great.. definitely exceeded my expectations and I will recommend and be back!

We noticed it was a Turkish restaurant as we were passing by and stopped in. The food was above average and not bad. I didn't like the Adana kebab. But I had a pastry called Avcı Böreği and I liked it a lot. The cold starters were also very good.

nice ambiance, but the food was a bit disappointing. I ordered a dish that was supposed to have an equal amount of lamb and chicken, but it was mostly chicken, with very little lamb. The overall taste was decent, but the quality of the meat, especially the lamb, was not up to par. It could have been better balanced and of higher quality for the price.

Starters recommended were not as advertised mixed grill was very nice apart from raw lamb cutlet what I sent back and was returned same piece of meat just deep fried all in all a sub par experience would not recommend

Atmosphere felt good, the food was delicious 😋 and looked good and the different flavours wonderful. It was very busy , so service was a little slow but worth it. I would go again.

The food from Turknaz is just superb. When you are stuck in the Chinese v’s Indian choice. Order from here it is fantastic.

Highly recommend, the food was amazing - high quality and value for money. Portion size are amazing especially for price and variety of different foods on plate. One word it's "Big" Turkish coffee - was expensive especially to an espresso, but first watch a YouTube video on process. So was worth it and definitely tasted great. It is cash only when we went, but right outside the door is a ATM, so quick in and out. The staff are amazing and pleasant. Also the views are well worth the visit.

Food awful minuscule portions breads are a joke if you can call them that just don’t understand them in terms of breads that are normally associated with this kind of food. It was a tasty meal. Price was a bit on a higher end, but considering the location and the market they cater, this is expected. The servers were polite; however, the Turkish guy who is taking our orders lacks charisma ( abrupt ). Over all, it was a great experience, however, I would not come back anytime soon.

First time there, staff were polite and friendly Would recommend it.

The food here is good but when going to pay they said “sorry cash only, but there is a cash point for free at the door”, so obviously this happens all the time the fact that the cash point is built into their restaurant between the doors. This should have been pointed out before the meal not afterwards. Ordinarily none of us take anything but phones with us to pay. It just happened I had a debit card with me. But what happens if I hadn’t have had it and what if we had spent more than the withdrawal limit. What would you do detain us at the restaurant, hostage whilst a person went to find another card or some cash. Inexcusable and very bad practice.

It is one of a kind Turkish restaurant in Whitley Bay with perfect views. Food is so delicious and lovely. Bar has an extensive range of drinks and coctails for a restaurant. Staff are helpful. And views of the restaurant is amazing. I advise lunch as well to enjoy full view of the bay.

Right next to the promenade of sea side this makes ideal location for an authentic Turkish meal. Very lovely and beautiful place. Polite and extremely friendly staff with great attention to detail. The decor of the place definitely matches the quality of the food being served. I would be happy to come back to this establishment without a second thought about it.

The restaurant had been recommended to us by our B&B host and it didn't disappoint. The service was quick and the food outstanding and there was plenty of it. The balcony table overlooking the sea was special.

Excellent choice of turkish food. Attentive staff without the hovering. Decent pricing. Overall a friendly atmosphere with very good service and tasty food. I for one will be returning. Only slight negative is the accessible loo, needs to be updated.

The food that we had was good, but the service was slow... We waited 25 minutes for our main course empty plates to be cleared, and we were going to order more drinks and dessert, but we didn't want to wait any longer, so we paid and left. There were only three of us out for a birthday meal, and the larger tables definitely got preferential service.

We visited a few weeks ago and been meaning to leave a review. The service was very friendly and welcoming, we had no reservation and had a young baby and they were very helpful and accommodating. All the food was fresh, homemade and perfectly cooked, it was all delicious and I would definitely recommend 😊

Last minute evening meal at Turknaz. The restaurant was very accommodating seating five of us without a booking on a busy Saturday evening. I ordered the chargrilled salmon with prawns which was delicious! The seating area outside has lovely views of the beach which was especially enjoyable with some decent British weather for once. The staff were polite and happy to recommend a number of dishes from the menu. It's worth a visit.

Not what we were expecting, Turkish bread was seeded buns when we expected flatbreads, the bread under the Adana was soggy and unappetising. My rice and lamb was lovely, plenty of lamb and vegetables, chips were soggy so had to be air fried to make them palatable. Overall disappointing. It is a shame as we have eaten at the restaurant previously and really enjoyed it.

We loved this place. Very friendly family oriented. The food is amazing, and the price I think was very reasonable for the quality & quantity you get. I'd definitely go here again.

We had a lovely meal and great wine. There were only a few other diners as it was fairly early. We would definitely go again if we were in the area.

Quiet on a Wednesday night so lacked atmosphere. Waiters were attentive and food was reasonably priced at around £15-20 for a main course and perfectly good without being amazing. They are situated right opposite the beach so when the sun's out and the bi-fold doors are open it will come into its element.

First time at Turknaz and it did not disappoint. Food and service was top notch and the staff we very friendly with the kids. 100% recommend .

I've had better Iskender before which is why I gave 4 stars for the food but the presentation, atmosphere and service were 5 stars.

Fantastic quality of food, nice wine and cold effes beer. Great views out to sea whilst dining. The staff were attentive when needed.

Unfortunately, they made errors with our orders, very slow service and some dish too hot and others served on cold plates . We were told they didn't accept card payments and told us to go outside and use the cash machine, disappointing service, We have not had these issues before, and your website needs to inform customers cards not accepted

Our first visit here, won't be our last. Pleasant surroundings, varied menu, helpful staff. The food was great. I had the lamb shank.

Went early evening for dinner with my wife and son and the food was excellent. Great choice of dishes on the menu and meat was cooked to perfection. The service was really good too despite it being quite busy. We will be heading back soon! Thanks again.

Service slow ,food nice but expensive for what you got .

The food we had was lovely, really tasty. However I can’t recommend this to anyone with children, unless they’re old enough to have/share a full adult portion. We went with our 6yo, there’s no kids menu which is fine. But usually when that’s the case at Indians etc they can usually offer half / smaller portions of their main courses. I hadn’t thought to check in advance thinking we’d just get some BBQ chicken, chips and bread or something. We were told this wasn’t possible and the only option was to get a full adult chicken dish, replace the salad with chips and take home what she didn’t eat. At nearly £20 a main course this was not an option since she’d probably only eat a quarter of it and we were staying in a local hotel. So she ended up sharing with me with an extra side when I’d much rather have had my entire chicken dish! As I say lovely food and although they were friendly enough, especially with my daughter, the food options for her were disappointing.

Its 5th time order from here,first 3 was good but last 2 orders , 4th order received text message says free beer when you order on specific day.Received order small portion and nothing free but its ok maybe my mistake i did not mentioned.But today my order was 2 portions of adana and one portion ali nazik i have never seen like that small portions for spending 52£ previously adana has contains 2 pieces of meat now one,specialy about Alinazik even they didnt put one piece.3 ppl on family all them still hungry,salad meat and rice just a bit of everything.Normaly i am not writing reviews but,Just this is my last order from this place.

Absolutely love this place, excellent food and a wide selection which makes it great when you have vegans, vegetarians, pescatarian and meat eaters in the group. Loved it so much I’m having my birthday party there!

The atmosphere is so serene and the decor is beautiful. The service is first class from the second you go in right up to when you leave. The staff are attentive without being intrusive and caring. The food. Oh my Lord, the food was the best food my husband and I have ever tasted. Turknaz is a must for a authentic Turkish cuisine and atmosphere 10 out of 10 and then some.

Mediocre food - quite bland flavours and uninspiring. No bulgur either. Service was good but overall poor value. On that subject it's CASH only!!! To this weird extent that they have a full scale ATM next to the entrance and on their property!

The food was excellent. However, the response from the staff afters spilling coke on the table and soaking my daughter's trousers was very disappointing. There was no proper apology from the waiter or the management! We will probably eat here again, but I hope they read this and take note.

Disappointing Decline in Quality I recently dined at a once-beloved Turkish restaurant that has unfortunately seen better days. The overall experience left much to be desired. The food, once a delight to the taste buds, now lacks the vibrancy and freshness it used to possess. Additionally, the insistence on cash payments only is an inconvenience in this digital age. It's disheartening to witness the decline of what was once a gem in the culinary scene.

Starters were nice, had creamy garlic mushrooms and meatballs in a tomato sauce but then the mains were exactly the same, creamy garlic mushroom sauce but with chicken and the stifado was the same sauce as the starter. This was changed for a lamb kebab. Food was decent but just felt that the menu seemed to be very samey. The other thing that spoiled it was the lack of flatbread. Was given a seeded bun to mop up the starter sauce and when I asked if there was flatbread was given 2 "mexican" tortillas which I was then charged £5 for. Thankfully the staff member who was looking after us was very understanding and sorted the issues out straight away, also brought us a couple of deserts on the house and removed the fee for the tortillas. Not sure if we will be back tbh, there's a better Turkish restaurant in Morpeth which is more authentic

So disappointed on our latest visit to this restaurant. Such a fall from what it used to be. After booking 3 weeks in advance for a birthday we arrived at booked time to be stuck upstairs at a table not set, next to cold drafty doors in what felt like an overflow area.half of the party ended up sitting with coats on for our visit. Service was slow nearly 75 mins to receive our main course and then it was warm at best, add a dirty wine glass with this. We just wanted to leave to be honest and upon complaint we where offered a round of drinks after gskf the party had left. Top this with cash only no option to pay by card in this dsy and age awhole round bad night out certainly won't be returning or recommending Turknaz again.

Really enjoyed my visit to Turknaz yesterday evening. The food was delicious and had quite generous servings. The service was very good and there was a great atmosphere. They asked us to pay in cash (but they have a cash machine just outside the front door)

This review is for a delivered ordered not an eat in order. £24 for a mixed grilled that was dry and very small. We love Turknaz food but haven’t had it for a while. Obviously everything has gone up in price and down in size. But it defo wasn’t to the same standard as end of last year.

Excellent service, atmosphere, food quality and taste. If you are trying for the first time, give the mezzo platters a try but they can be very filling. Main dishes are similarly generous portions but excellent flavours. The dessert menu is less inspiring with very little in the way of Turkish inspired options - bring back "Pudding that sticks to the plate" Anthony! Credit to Anthony and the whole team, both front of house and in the kitchen.

I love Turkish food. And by and large I can't fault what I had today (Iskender, yaprak Sarma and some cacik). Would have been an easy 5 stars had it not been for the bread. I was looking forward to proper homemade pide, like stated on the menu, however, all I got were 3 little granary rolls that looked like they were shop bought and cooked from frozen. Upon closer inspection I found the same bread to be used in the Iskender as well and it really detracted from an otherwise delicious meal.

The restaurant is located at the sea front with a great view to the sea. One can easily find free parking space within, say, five min on foot from the restaurant. There are two floors in the restaurant. The ground floor is accessible to guests on wheelchair. There is an ATM next to the restaurant door. Having visited this restaurant many times during the last four years, I can confirm its continued high service and food quality. The menu offers a wide variety of Turkish food, also with the vegetarian dishes and those intended for kids. The wine list offers many Turkish, reasonably priced wines; all that I tasted over the years were of good quality.

Really disappointing visit. Food was average, if a little over-priced and staff inattentive. After finishing our main course we were left for 20+ minutes without anyone asking if we wanted dessert or more drinks. Shame.

Food was nice but small portions. Particularly disappointed with the baklavas. £5.95 for a very small portion. Arrived early. Some of the mixed grill was grisly but other wise ok.

Service very poor, humus served with a bread roll. How authentic is that not!!!!! Prices increased, portions decreased. Food just ok, had a lot better and a lot cheaper Overall very disappointing and certainly not good value.expected a lot more.

Come here often and always blown away by the quality and the flavours of the food. Cannot reccomend enough!
